Neighborhood restaurant and bar. Food is outstanding. The High Plains filet is one of the best steaks in Dallas. It seems a little pricey at $50, but it's absolutely worth it. The cut of meat is as good as it gets and the chef does a perfect job of cooking it to order. I would put it equal to or better than Bob's and Del Frisco's steaks. The vegetables and potatoes are tender and sautéed to perfection and included with the steak. The drink menu is varied and good. My wife says the Paloma is the best in Dallas, and I think she is right. The fries could be a little better. I prefer very crispy and some were but not all. Although I was only here for a short period of time, it was a pleasant experience sitting on the patio enjoying a cocktail. I went with this: Barrel Aged Old Fashioned - Oak infused Old Forrester bourbon, simple, bitters While it wasn't the best Old Fashioned I've ever had and they don't use one big ice cube, it was still delicious and provided a great time while chatting with the wife. Our waitress had an attitude problem and rolled her eyes at us multiple times. The food was bland and flavorless. The resturant did not seem very busy for lunch, which indicates other people knew something we didnt. The food was also expensive for what we got. It seemed like all the hostesses were in the back hiding. They would all disapear often. We would not come back to this restaurant. read more

The Fifth is on our monthly rotation of top restaurants in Dallas. The patio is outstanding; heated in the winter and cooled in the summer. My go to is the prime rib sandwich with a wedge salad. Absolutely love this gem! I am so happy I bookmarked a Yelp alert to check out Fifth Fireside Patio & Bar. This will be my new go to restaurant when I do not feel like cooking. Or, a place to meet a group of friends to eat and drink. I love their cocktails. I tried the Paloma and blueberry lemon drop, made with fresh grapefruit juice and house made blueberry syrup, respectively. You have to show love to a restaurant when they choose to use fresh fruit juices for their cocktails. Oh, and the Paloma was rimmed with paloma salt. Yums! It's the little extras that make patrons know that you care. I am not exaggerating when I say I've never had redfish prepared so perfectly. The fish was thick, tender and moist through and through, not just the center part. The sauce that it came with was also very nice. I was afraid I wasn't going to like it so I asked that it be put on the side. Next time, I'll leave chef alone. The shrimp and grits were also delightful. Shrimps were plump and fresh. Ordered a coke and they brought out a warm can that melted the ice and just watered it down and then charged $4.00 for it. The chicken fried chicken was burnt and was a $22 KFC bowl. The pimento burger was good. The service wasn't bad but we weren't impressed. Didn't order dessert but that must be what they're known for because everybody else around us had ordered it. I've been several times for different services. I love the ambience during dinner service and Matt was attentive for our meal, the wagyu beef gorditas were delicious and very tender. Their smoked Old Fashioned is one of my favorites and presentation is better than most. Unfortunately this last time I went in my pork chop came out purple rare but Matt quickly took it back and I got a new perfectly cooked chop soon after. Overall the service was good! We were met on New Year's Day with friendly wait staff who were accommodating for our brunch. So the staff are the stars of this review. The food was pretty unflattering: - Chicken and waffles: [C-] fries chicken was really salty. Had to take the crust off to even be able to eat it. Waffle a bit dry. We had one of the best waiters ever I think his name was Tristen he made our visit enjoyable he was very knowledgeable and when the food was delivered he throughly explained each dish by which was very impressive because his doesn't happen period. Whether I'm there dining alone or with a group, the food, drinks, atmosphere, and excellent service (always impressed by Tristan's keen attention to detail and welcoming helpfulness) make for an excellent experience. I can't give 5 stars because $2 off cocktails is a bit of a joke to me for a "happy hour", but nonetheless the flavorful redfish and friendly server made up for it. At 5:30, the patio was too full so we had to sit inside. I was peering out to the patio and felt extreme FOMO. Inside was a bit stuffy and pretentious while the patio was a lively and more-free spirited atmosphere. Flavorful and fresh is the best way to describe the grilled redfish. While the portion size was less than expected, the fish was thick and hearty and the blend of the flavor of the fish with the fingerling potatoes, spinach, and lemon butter sauce was delightful. If you want a restaurant for date nights that takes you out of the main areas with elevated foods and a rotating seasonal menu, this is the spot! We went for a date night and sat on the patio beside their outdoor gas fireplace -- it was perfect. The food is very high quality -- I got the Chicken Tikka skewers and my husband got the hamburger. My chicken was amazingly tender and the black lentils went great with the side of poblano cheddar grits we shared. His burger was massive and perfectly prepared to temperature. We got the blue cheese fondue appetizer and it was awesome -- if you like blue cheese, this dish is a fun one to share and actually wasn't overpowering with the other roasted components of the dish. If anyone wants good non-alcoholic cocktails, the bar also made a fabulous blackberry bramble that I enjoyed with my meal as I do not drink. They had a pretty solid selection of wine/beer/alcohol as well, and the bar inside was a nice vibe/aesthetic. Finally, the service was great! Attentive but not overly so, and they checked to make sure we didn't have any issues with the level of the fire beside us (we didn't). Overall, definitely ready to go back and try their brunch. This place is nice to have just around the corner and it's fun to finish up and walk across the parking lot to Sweet Firefly for ice cream to top off your Canyon Creek date night. read more

They are tucked away in a neighborhood which makes it a hidden gem Although I made reservations ahead of time (anticipating a crowd) there were only two other parties in the restaurant but I had no complaints! We were seated immediately and our order was taken for drinks. I ordered bottomless mimosas The food came out in a timely manner and the service was wonderful. The food was very tasty. I ordered the salmon nicoise salad and my son ordered some kind of burger. There was music playing in the background at a nice noise level and there were also a few TVs for viewing pleasure. One of our favorite spots to grab some amazingly delicious apps is The Fifth: Fireside Patio and Bar in Richardson. Our staples are the crispy brussels and bacon ( they'll convert anyone with their delicious crunch and hint of spicy sweetness) and the crab dip served with focaccia bread. This place has gone WAAAAAAAAY downhill. Must be under new management and/or have new chefs. Not failing to mention that the service was cr*p. The food was terrible. I like the vibe, food and drinks most of the time. I tried the Berry 75 cocktail and loved it. But the corned beef hash is not recognizable as corned beef hash. It's stacked squares of deli thin corned beef along with very few small separate cubes of potato. Asked for crispy but there was no way for this non-corned-beef-hash to be crispy. Was tasty but definitely doesn't resemble corned beef hash. I'll revisit this restaurant but will order a different entree next time.. read more

Okay holy wow. This bacon wrapped meatloaf was phenomenal. It was very moist and tender. I usually like my bacon super crispy but this texture worked together so well that it didn't bother me. The potatoes and green beans were a great pairing with it as well. We ordered several appetizers that I didn't get pics of before everyone dug in. Meatballs (3 large ones that we cut down to share), deviled eggs (6 halves), and the Brussels sprouts which was also generously sized. Everything was decent proportions, you could easily get an appetizer and an entree and it would be enough food to split between two people. I will definitely be back!!! read more

We had a very special date night at The Fifth! We were warmly welcomed by the staff who seemed to recognize and chat with their "regulars" which added to the friendly and laidback ambiance. We opted to sit inside as it was a chilly night but the patio was gorgeous with the outdoor fires. The cocktail menu is downright impressive and we started with the smoke old fashioned and the hibiscus suave which were so good we had to order two more! The smoke old fashioned is an experience of a drink to say the least. For our app we ordered the half moons which came highly recommended by our fantastic waiter, and for good reason. They hit all the essentials - crispy, cheesy, flavorful. We ordered the fried chicken and the wagyu short rib for our mains. The fried chicken was the perfect combination of crispy and juicy, and came with delicious gravy and mashed potatoes. And the portion was HUGE. The short rib was equally delicious, seasoned just right, and was incredibly tender. We unfortunately had to pass on dessert because we were so stuffed, but we'll have to pace ourselves next time! read more

My husband and I have been here a couple of times, and they had always been good experiences. This, however, was not one of those experiences. Our server Ciara was great, as were the drinks. However the food was...indescribable. I had the "beef and potato hash", and I naively assumed that the beef would be.. well.. something other than what I received (which resembled dog food/canned chili). I also had requested hollandaise on the side - when I received my plate it was literally potatoes topped with two eggs. I had to request the "beef". The hollandaise was broken, it looked more like what you would dip crab legs into instead of a nice creamy sauce to top the dish with. My husband got the Benedict (had to add the smoked salmon because it didn't come with meat..?), but the eggs were over cooked and it was definitely not an $18 dish. If I could give zero stars I would, but Ciara was very kind, and the drinks were great. So one star it is. read more
