Talk about a gem , my family couldn't keep our forks off of each others plates. So we all got to taste it all. I got a turkey club which was great but the real winner of that dish was the side potato salad. Yum! My husband got the lemon chicken with the mashed potatoes and I will definitely be getting that when we go back. It was just like my moms Huge selection of wines too so that's a plus for me! I have a soft spot in my heart (and my belly) for shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits at The Feed Sack are not like any I have ever had. First off, the grits are very creamy, which is my preference. Gravy is a rich brown roux, seasoned perfectly with just a bit of Cajun flavor but not too spicy. The sausage is well cooked and gives a pleasant change of texture. The shrimp are not overcooked which suggests that they didn't just grab a handful of cooked shrimp and stir them into the gravy. There are a few veggies cooked in the gravy, but not enough to take over the flavor or presentation. It's garnished with fresh green onion tops. Overall the gravy is what you taste, and there is enough of it to last to the last bite. In addition, the grits, sausage, and shrimp each add a bit of pleasant diversity to each bite. This dish is a definite "come back for" item. And for my friends in Augusta, watch for the opening of their new site in North Augusta. read more

The food was great... once it came. I don't believe they allow reservations for parties under 5, so my wife and I had about a 30 minute wait on a Saturday evening. It's dark inside, so take off your sunglasses! lol Once we got seated, we started looking through the menu. I ordered the Fish & Chips (half) and she ordered the FeedSack Burger. The food took almost 50 minutes to make it to the table! BUT once it came, it was tasty! The fish had a nice crunch and thickness to it. And it was pretty big. I wouldn't have had room for dessert had I gotten a whole Fish & Chips! Speaking of dessert, we ordered the bread pudding. It was delicious! Less peaches for me though. Overall, the food was good. BUT the food wait was unacceptable. IF we go back, it'll have to be for lunch or something. read more

Delicious and charming. Despite being a great place for a date night, this place is kid-friendly as well. The restaurant is really nicely decorated with an equine theme and places for couples and groups. There's a more casual spot in the front of the restaurant and a bar area in the back that is a great place to socialize. We tried it because it popped up on Yelp and the other place we wanted to go closed between lunch and dinner, and we were looking for an early dinner. The restaurant is super charming and is both classy and casual at the same time. You would never know it based on the unassuming strip mall in which it is located. Ambiance is fantastic (don't be fooled by the exterior) but food was very mediocre. Service could also use improvement. For example, one of our meals came with fries and we had to repeatedly ask for ketchup, which took quite a while to finally be brought to us (and they weren't all that crowded). read more

This place is a nice addition to Aiken located in a strip mall however the renovation is stunning with very tasteful interior decor. They offer a large interior space as well as exterior patio that gets quite busy on the weekends and evenings as they have live music several nights a week and also a large sports bar area inside. The servers are prompt courteous and know the menu well. The burger with truffle fries is very satisfying and they offer several salad options as well if you're feeling In the mood for a lighter meal. The signature cocktails that they offer are fun and they have a very wide variety of alcohol available. The owner used to own a liquor store so it's not surprising! read more

Sadie, our server, who was very pleasant in answering all of my questions about the drinks and all the food. Then, to boot, Chef Jeff came out and greeted us, making us feel even extra special and brought us a slice of red velvet cake. The ambiance is perfect. It's such a great place. Three stars is feeling pretty generous ... but it was our first time there together, so we'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time ... Started off great ... had a glass of red Bordeaux, which was very good. Server 2 (of 4!) was great. Too bad he disappeared after our food came. We specifically came to try the fish and chips, which we learned were not on the lunch menu ... BUT ... someone, somewhere behind the scenes said they would do them for us ... which was super nice. That's about the extent of the positives ... The cod itself was a generous piece of fish, but the batter was 100% soggy and too thick. There literally was not one speck of crispness to it anywhere. Really disappointing. The chips were ok. We were excited to share a piece of cookies and cream cake, which was recommended by server 3 (of 4!!) She said it was homemade. We were even more excited, when it arrived and was a SLAB of cake instead of a slice. Unfortunately it tasted days old ... very hard and tasteless. The best thing on the plate was the strawberry couli which I think was there for decoration. After two bites, I didn't want to "waste" the calories. Not worth it. Four different servers and $82 later ... it's unlikely we'll be back for lunch ... may give it another try for dinner. Oh ... and the water is literally not drinkable ... tastes very chemically. read more

My husband and I visited Aiken for a day. We live about 45 minutes away but we find Aiken much easier to travel to and around than Lexington or Irmo and our dinner plans at The Feed Sack definitely made that more clear. We had an early dinner (around 3PM) so there was no wait. We were promptly greeted with a warm welcome by the host. The first thing I noticed was the beautiful decor and ambience. It was light enough to see everything, but not too dark. It was also very open in all of the dining areas; no cramming with other tables. Our server's name was Danielle (I think). She immediately brought us our teas and we ordered the pimiento cheese appetizer and our entrees. I asked for the Crab Cakes and my husband asked for the Filet. Our food came quickly, correctly and was fresh. Both entrees were cooked to perfection, had lots of flavor and were VERY filling. We could not finish it all. Two stars - one for the wine the Boudreaux. Two for the second server of four that said he would get the fish and chips even though it was lunch. Disappointingly the fish was battered with carpet and was soggy. Nice piece of fish rolled in it though. Batter should be crispy and light. Water had a chemical taste. Asked server three of four what dessert she would recommend and she said the cookies and cream cake as it was home made. It was massive but not sure if it had been cut a week ago or what but the sponge was like concrete. All this enjoyment for not a great lunch and it only cost us $82 for two of us with a small tip for the four staff that served us. On a side note the place doesn't know if it's a restaurant or a furniture store as it has a bunch of stuff in there at the back for sale. Would I go back - unlikely. #overrated read more

The person who seated us pointed toward our server who smiled then walked away. 15 minutes later we still had no service. We left. YUMMY!!!! What a great lunch date with my mom on a cold South Carolina Saturday! My mom absolutely loves their tomato bisque soup...and it did not disappoint. A warm and filling soup on such a chilly day was just what we needed. Ummmm, my favorite part of the meal was the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks that came with Beer Cheese Dip and Mustard. Wow, they were warm, soft and delicious! Even brought the leftovers home and heated one up later in the day :) The location may not look like much from the exterior; however, the interior is fantastic! Love all the rustic touches throughout the restaurant and the booth seating is very private with curtain barriers between the booths along the wall. Great location with an unfortunate name. From the parking lot or road it looks like a tack store...it is horse country after all. Once you understand it's a restaurant- it doesn't disappoint. Service was good but was a bit disappointed in the timeliness of "a side of Mayo". Had to ask twice. Not a big deal unless your date is waiting to eat until it arrives. Other than that the food and atmosphere were great and would definitely go back. As a marketer and businessman, I do suggest a name "adjustment". :-). The atmosphere of this place is very nice. We walked in 6pm on a Saturday night table for 2 no reservations and were able to get a table inside right away. It started getting very busy 20 min later. There was a huge patio with live music. The place is bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. The food was good. They don't have a big dinner menu but they had 3 specials a seafood dish, chicken dish, and a steak dish. The steak was nice and tender and great flavor in the mashed potatoes. The burger was cooked well with good flavor. The shrimp appetizer was just ok. I was expecting the shrimp to big a little bit bigger but they were tiny. We will definitely return to try other stuff on the menu. read more

Went to dinner tonight for our anniversary. Lori, Taylor and Blain were awesome in the bar area. The food was extremely slow to come out and Lori took care of the issue. The biggest problem tonight was Randy. He came to the table after Lori had taken care of us and proceeded to tell us that we would've gotten our food had we came in earlier and we would've gotten our food faster had we sat at a table in the front instead of the bar area. He's the worst kind of manager there is. I would go back because of Lori and her staff but I wouldn't step back in there because of Randy. read more
