First of all the atmosphere was amazing. I cannot wait to go and enjoy drinks and wings outside with my friends. However the service was awful we didn't get refills until the ending of our meal. The pork belly was good but overly sweet. The broccoli was so salty until we both had one bit and didn't touch it again. The white rice is a little disappointing they should definitely jazz it up a bit. The house salad was simply that but the champagne dressing made the difference. The wings were the best thing we had crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. My C. A.B filet was definitely one of the best cuts of beef I've ever had it melted in my mouth but had no flavor at all and I don't get sauce until the end of my meal as the server was busy waiting on multiple tables. We were a party of 6 during Masters weekend. Logged on at 7:05 and got on the wait list for 7:30 dinner - 9th on the list. Drove the 15 minutes to the restaurant and were seated immediately. Good start. Samantha, our server, was very amiable and patient while we decided on appetizers and drinks - came back a couple of times to check on us. Started with calamari, which were breaded very lightly and were tender and cooked to perfect crispness. Special of the night was prime rib with mashed and broccoli for $48 - a little pricey, I thought, but ordered it anyway. I asked to sub collard greens for the mashed, and Samantha obliged, no problem. Two others ordered the pasta primavera, others ordered the crab cakes, Feed Sack (chicken) fingers and citrus-soy glazed salmon. Pasta primavera got great reviews, as did the tasty, crab-laden crab cakes and the fingers. The salmon would have been tasty were it not overcooked. My prime rib was delivered rare, as I ordered it, with excellent rich, deep flavored non-greasy jus and collard greens. The mashed potatoes came, even though the collard greens were supposed to be subbed for them, and I reminded Samantha of the broccoli, which she brought right out. We shared the bourbon bread pudding with blackberry sauce for dessert. The bread pudding part of that was good; blackberry sauce is not my idea of a good combination with bread pudding. Each of the entrees was prepared near perfectly, with the exception of the aforementioned salmon. The collard greens were a treat - something we in the north aren't used to, but were delicious - and the broccoli was cooked au pointe - not soft and not undercooked. The restaurant was nearly full when we got there, but not so noisy that we couldn't converse. The piano player playing mostly show-tunes was a great addition to the ambiance. Going with 4 stars because the ambience was so charming. Classy western rustic. Server was very kind. Slightly disappointed that the cocktail menu was themed for Christmas drinks and it is now February, so we chose two that may be the most fitting and they were not great. Brussel sprouts were good. Shrimp and grits entree was soooo delicious and savory. Short rib was also a winner I had to ask for extra glaze it was so good. I NEVER leave a review. Our waitress (Joy) was amazing but the service was VERY slow. Restaurant was not super busy so no excuse for the slow food service. Food was literally not eatable. I got Lemon Caper chicken and substituted for whipped potatoes. I will start with the potatoes...they literally tasted like instant that was prepared with water. My chicken was WAY overcooked. Tasted crispy/burnt. The lemon caper sauce was a flour rue that had been thickened with cornstarch and capers were added. Asparagus was overcooked and stringy. My husband had the "beef short ribs". They were a far cry from short ribs, it was two slices of roast beef. It had the flavor of Dinty Moore beef stew. Looked and tasted old, like it had been sitting around under a heat lamp for hours or maybe even a day or so. I love the Feed Sack! It is an excellent location that always accommodates my large family. The couches in the back by the bar is a great spot if you're gathering with 10+ people. The service is fantastic & I love their happy hour options! Their lavender lemon martini is excellent! We visited the Feed Sack tonight for the first time and was pleasantly surprised how great of a time we had. They had a wine tasting going on and that was super fun and different. There is a furniture store in the back that you can shop through and we saw some very beautiful items that we would for sure buy. The food is pretty good! We had the scallops and my husband had the short ribs. Both of these items were great! I also had a lemon drop that was tasty. We had our 2 children and it was a plus that they gave crayons and a coloring sheet for kids in such a nice place. The server was very nice and helpful. Decided to check out this new place in Aiken for lunch today. Was surprised at how large this restaurant is on the inside. Decor was lovely and very Aiken-esque. Looks like there is a home store in the back of the restaurant as well. Not sure if this is also new or has always been there as we are still fairly new to the area. Lots of great items to choose from on the menu. I went with the hot roast beef sandwich which comes with a side. I went with the sweet potato waffle fries. Everything tasted great including the au jus. Would definitely get again. The quantity is more than sufficient as well. Luckily, I had shipped breakfast so had a good appetite. I left very full and didn't finish all my fries so may take half to go in a future order. Hubby ordered the blue cheese burger and he was also pleased with his order. Let's start by saying this place is huge so definitely can have an event, a group lunch, etc. it is also very fancy but not over the top and people dress casual. At least for lunch, when I went. So I didn't try a lot since I was a solo and decided to get the hot honey chicken sandwich with fries. I think the sandwich was great as far as crunch and not dry. I think it could've been spicier, based on the name, or just because I like spice. The fries tasted great as well. I was in Aiken on vacation and found this place online. When I arrived, I was surprised. It was in a strip mall and looked a bit drab on the outside. However, I was so impressed the minute I walked in. Do not let the exterior of the restaurant fool you. The interior is expansive and very upscale. There are large comfortable couches where you can enjoy drinks and small plates. There is a large bar where you can also order the full menu. The restaurant has multiple seating areas. The food was outstanding. The service was attentive and friendly. If I were a local, this would be a regular spot for me. I highly recommend this place. read more
