Found this great hole in the wall restaurant on the street that runs parallel to the avenue. There are a lot of fancy and expensive restaurants along the Avenue Liberdade, but if you head just one or two roads back, you'll find the best hidden gems!
This is our first night in Lisbon and we were wanting to try some Portuguese food. The Fam Kitchen offers tapas, fish entrees, burgers, meat entrees, salads and pasta. They also have a wide selection of homemade desserts!
The service was excellent--very attentive and very friendly. I didn't feel awkward or judged and we ordered a lot of things to share.
The seasoned clams were one of my favorites. It was fresh and bright with garlic and citrus flavors that went so perfectly with the clams. I suggest also getting a side of bread to eat this with. I thought the mango and shrimp salad was good. Being from Hawaii, I wasn't quite blown away by the mangoes, but I liked the idea of pairing mangoes with shrimp salad and the shrimp were plentiful and delicious. The salmon was great, I recommend this dish if you like salmon. I thought the salmon was cooked perfectly and the lime risotto was actually really delicious.
There were so many desserts to choose from, but we were so full and didn't have room.
Great food and friendly service. What more can you ask for? read more
