Came here on a Friday night to watch RuPaul and had a great time! We sat down at the bar and were immediately asked by the bartender (who was very sweet!) if we wanted drinks. Almost everyone was watching RuPaul and the ambience felt very inviting and made watching the show even better! There weren't too many seats but people go in and out as they go bar hopping . Overall I enjoyed my time here and would definitely come again.

Fantastic atmosphere and friendly bar service. Restrooms were all gender friendly, yet still clean (sorry boys, but y'all a mess sometimes!). Fun throwback music - shoutout to Britney, bisshhh! We came here early after spending the night on The Queen Mary and sincerely enjoyed our bloody Mary's to keep the theme up to par with Halloween.

1st time at this bar, gay bar alert was friendly place ami jukebox to play your favorite songs while you have a drink. Cash only so be prepared for that .

The drinks were great. 10/10 felt like a VIP. Very attentive bartender. Kudos to Abel for making it all a good evening for me and my friends.

Nice bar I went to grab a drink with friends! The bartender was nice & friendly. It was my birthday so we went lgbtq bar hopping. The drink was really good & the music was great too!

Micro minuscule bar serving standard alcoholic libations, but don't let that fool you into skipping out on this joint. Good placement & organization maximizes the efficient use of space along with mirrors that fool the eye into seeing more depth. Sunday afternoon is festive & loud since the speakers are pumping. Friendly vibe & manageable crowd. People here seem to want to hang out & be social. Only two bar-t's at the beginning, but an outgoing, vivacious Trans or Drag Queen radiating charm filled the room w/ her presence and proceeded to pour drinks while dishing Gay repartee to her patrons. (Sorry, don't want to offend in assuming perceived orientation.) She even joined us so we could do a group pic. She's cool & fun, setting the mood of the place to be playful, spontaneous, let down your hair & be yourself. I should have caught her name, but she's the one w/ the BIG Hair. Kudos to a truly colourful, kind personality. Management should give her a raise. 4 Yelp stars for being the most friendly bar on Gay Broadway in Long Beach. PS Not Falcon's fault, but street parking is scarce throughout this area. Be prepared to wander around the side streets to snag a parking space. It reminds me of trying to find parking in the Castro, SFO.

Abel! Best martinis in town!!

I can't go bar hoping in Long Beach without ending up here . It's usually one of the busiest gay bars in town and always plays great music .

Nice looking bar/club in the gay area of Long Beach, but it was pretty quiet for a Sunday Funday…read moreevening. I'm guessing it's because the bartender is not friendly and pretty arrogant. The cocktails were good and served in glasses, not plastic cups. We went to four different bars this evening, two bad and two great; this was the worst because of the bartender. We're probably never coming back here unless there's a friendlier bartender. Just saying.

I feel like the only time I pop into here for a drink tends to be after dinner nearby. And this…read morevisit, it was literally that. We did pop in when it was still early so the place was pretty mellow. Even at 9pm, there was a security guard out front checking people's Id. Inside, it's a dark vibe but nice. Lots of plush comfy sofas for seating. The layout can be a tight squeeze in the seating area at the front as the sofas are pretty big and close together. Then add in the guest, it could get tight but a fun vibe. Main floor area has the bar to one side and the dance floor at the other end. The whole place does turn into a dance floor when it's fully packed. What's nice about this place, they have a nice outdoor patio. Not a lot of bars along this strip offer that which is nice. Bar area is along one side but getting a drink when it's packed can be a challenge. They always have a decent amount of bartenders on deck so that does help but with people coming from all ends trying to order, it can get a bit tricky. Dj is along the side where the dance floor is. As for our visit, Friday which around 9 was still early. The good thing about that, getting a drink was a cinch. Majority of the people were either on the patio or the front lounge. It was pretty full in the front which I think it was a group that were all together. We were there long enough for a drink give or take half an hour the most and by then, the place was pretty empty. I feel like most people tends to come around 10:30 or 11:00. Not sure if they have an entrance fee or not but certain night when they have events, the place is very lively. Then I believe you would need to purchase tickets for that. Parking situation is a major bitch as street parking is pretty sparse. Neighborhood parking is very limited as the locals know that if they move their car, say goodbye to your parking spot. So if you know the area, parking is tricky. It's a cool little bar that I used to go to when I lived down here many years ago which used to be called The Brit. Still a fun vibe.

Agave's Ultra Lounge is in the heart of Pine Street in Long Beach. Pine Ave. in the LBC is one of…read morethe main veins (if not the) that pumps energy, dazzle, pizazz, and basically pulsates life into the LBC. I can easily imagine Snoop Dogg rolling down the avenue, enjoying the nighttime breeze all the while, sipping on guava kombucha to replenish his electrolytes. His homies roll with him, all enjoying the people, sights, debauchery, and color of the scene. That is what Pine Ave. in Long Beach is: a street full of joy, action, opportunity, and people trying to have a good time; fulfill a late-night goal, or escape the chore of living with a wild night out. It is great that all these varied goals and more can be accomplished when you go to rumba at Agave's Ultra Lounge. I do not live too far from Agaves, and thus, when I have nothing much going on, the move is to go to Agaves to give life an opportunity to flourish. It may not flourish when I am there, but at least life is more likely to flourish at a hot spot than at my home, while I sit in the Red Queen (my couch of preference) watching Desperate Housewives reruns. And this knowledge that propels me to go out and explore life, hoping to seize it, is good advice for anyone who, at times, feels the twang of loneliness bite their being. But I am no guru; you accept my words continuously and implement the step of going out seeking adventure at your discretion. I know not all feel comfortable stepping into a club with no one in tow. You can see different people at Agaves. Girls who took time to dress to look fine (for themselves and others), and you can view gents that did the same too. But you can also see those who are quirky and express their off-beat style with bravado that, in my opinion, makes the night more vibrant because it belongs not only to those who dress appropriately for context, but also to those who dress and are diverse. That is the truth of what I can see, but the beauty of diversity is magnified when we consider that all of us who rumba at Agaves have hidden identities and stories that make the Agaves dance floor an inclusive mess, in the most delightful way. Next time I am at Agaves, I will remember this fact and dance a two-step in honor of the diversity and inclusion that pops off at Agaves. But in order for this to happen, someone must conduct the moment, and I think no one does it better than their premier DJ--A-MIL. I will be the first to admit that I have aged out of being cool. But I can still identify those who carry the cool gene well, and that is 1000% DJ A-Mil. I went to Agaves on Halloween night, the one that just passed, and DJ A-Mil was the one dressed in Riddle gear. But his talent is not a riddle to be solved--his talent and presence are an obvious answer to the question: Who can vibe Agaves to the heights of fun? I guess this can also be a Jeopardy answer. When A-MIL is spinning the discs or selecting music from a laptop, not really sure how DJs do their thing nowadays, but I can hear and feel A-MIL's presence. When people start leaving the club, I feel a shift in music that might draw them back, but in reality, makes those present want to stay. Thus, a few miss out, but more are infused by the choice and mixes of an effective DJ. Furthermore, DJ A-MIL has the presence and power to hype up a crowd to be a jumping joy. When I am at Agaves, with a crowd of strangers, and A-Mil is in charge of the beats, I feel one with the crowd--this is how music can become a universal language that connects all. I am thankful that A-MIL controls the music in such a way that makes the place feel like home--for a dance, for a sip, for a beat, for a look, and for me, and all others who dare to bump and grind at Agaves. Agaves is a treasure, and A-Mil is its guard. Go here, be happy, and forget all that holds you down. The music and vibe of Agaves will cut the balloons that keep you tethered to the ground and your woes. And to be iconic--I will say, as a wizard once did, everyone deserves to fly! Go here and secure your chance to do just that!

I came here after checking out 3 others, and while the venue was the smallest of the 4, it had the best lightning and great people. The music was fun, people were great, and the venue is usually a restaurant that gets turned into a Disco at night. No cover fee for entrance and that's about it.
