Snowballs are Baltimore must have. They are very simple but not everyone can get it right. If the ice is to chunky or to thin (like shaved ice) ... Then it can throw of the authenticity of the snowball. Also the syrup is really important, you want good flavor, you also want the syrup to be able to " hold on" to the ice. If....... When the ice melts, you want the syrup to still cut through a bit. I know this sounds like a bit much.... But any true Baltimorian has had a horrible rough chunky ice snowball that you have thrown in the trash. And on the flip side..... You've had that perfectly balanced sweet with nice smooth ice snowball. The Snowballs from here are flip side. Also nice flavor choices, but NOT that one with an overwhelming 509 flavors to choose from. They also have other treats, I can't wait to try them.

    Halo halo

Came here to try out the halo halo. You can find street parking in the area and it's free. It was $8 without tax and was a pretty good sized serving, definitely share with another person unless you can eat a lot. It doesn't seem like the traditional stuff because it was vanilla soft serve on top instead of ube. Still pretty good though. They had a bunch of toppings like red&green jelly, flan, coconut, this purple jam(?) and jackfruit. I enjoyed it except at the end because the "snow cone" melted together to a block of ice. Probably wouldn't get it again, but it was nice to try. Probably will just get a plain snowball next time. If you want something icy and sweet, I would recommend trying Korean bingsoo; it's usually cheaper, prettier, and you can share between 3-4 people.

To be honest the tamago sando was a solid sandwich and maybe i should have toasted it but i was getting it to go to bring while traveling... was nothing mindblowing. however, the guava croissant was AMAZING. the lamination, the texture, that wonderful crunch and fresh guava taste with balanced sweetness brightened up the gloomy day! I happily ate it quite quickly in one sitting after the sando despite how big it was. When I got back to atlanta i tried the chausson aux champignon a bit without it toasted and also toasted and it was TOO GOOD both ways! i enjoyed the mushrooms as they brought soo much good umami goodness to my tastebuds along with the mushroom aioli served with it! I really want to visit baltimore if only for a layover again so i can pickup more delightful pastries! I tried their seasonal brown sugar hojicha coffee latte and that was great as well! and oopsies i forgot to take a picture of the chausson aux champignon but it looks like a turover! although there was a line, i had a lovely conversation with a few nice people in front of me so the wait wasn't bad at all!

Even though the temperature was in the low teens with a windchill around zero, GKs all got ice creams. They only issue any of them had was that the gargantuan sizes were still not big enough; taste was that good. Me, I picked up a sfogliatella riccia to enjoy as a post-theater late-night snack. We also picked up a bunch of Italian cookies to take home. We had to hide them so the GK vultures couldn't get to them early. Vacarro's had a great selection even at 6PM. The bakery aroma was fantastic, seating was plentiful, prices were reasonable, and parking (street and for-pay lot) close by. It's a must-stop destination whenever you make it to Little Italy. Mangia, mangia!

Arrived in the afternoon during a busy weekend and decided to take out for desserts. My first visit and was underwhelmed by the service received. Rushed and transactional. Packaging was very sloppy and my napoleons were shoved to the side, making the clear clamshells very messy when I arrived home. If only the desserts were saving grace, but was left disappointed as well. As others have mentioned, the pastries do not taste fresh. The ricotta cream in the original cannoli tasted warm and gritty, the shell was stale. I noticed these were sitting out. The puff pastry in the Napoleons were soggy. The cream puffs shell was stale and chocolate topping was super sweet, unfortunately these were far from heavenly. Maybe another day, Vaccaro.

We got here shortly before closing, and there was a long line at the self-checkout kiosk, but that was mostly due to people taking a while to figure out what they wanted to order. It also took some time for our crepe to be ready, but that mostly seemed to be the result of the store being understaffed and getting slammed shortly before closing.

There's several tables inside to enjoy your sweet treat and luckily we were able to grab one of the last ones. There's a menu on the windows entrance, but otherwise you scan their QR code. In addition to the three page menu, they have a sign with monthly specials as well. Decided to make my own treat - chocolate bubble waffle with Oreo filling, pistachio ice cream, brownie toppings, and chocolate syrup drizzle. The waffles are made to order, so definitely have some patience. Even though they were busy, many order was ready in about 5 minutes. Man was it good! I really enjoyed the pistachio ice cream, which had pistachio pieces. I could barely taste the Oreos in my chocolate waffle, but it was still pretty good. I also enjoyed the brownie pieces, which I thought went well with my ice cream. If you're CRAVE-ing a late night treat when in Baltimore, definitely consider giving CRAVE a try.

I also prefer stuffed doughnuts (like a good Boston cream, etc) but they don't have many options for those. Instead it seems they prefer to put a dollop of the cream in the hole on top. I tried the cookies and cream and the cream cheese in the middle was odd.. it had a stretchy consistency. I like their Cinnamon Toast Crunch one, that one is probably my favorite. There were only 2 people working, so there were a bunch of people waiting for their orders and service was slow. One person was at the cashier, the other was packing doughnuts, making breakfast sandwiches, and the coffees. We waited 5 minutes in line and then another 10-15 minutes for them to pack our 4 donuts. I wanted to get a sandwich but figured the wait was too long. On to the donuts - I liked the blueberry basil and blackberry lime donuts. The blueberry basil flavor wasn't super strong but it was well balanced. The blackberry lime was my favorite - sweet and a little tart. The crobar (croissant-donut) texture was awesome but I did not rally taste the cranberry or orange advertised. The buttercream frosting on top was sickeningly sweet so ended up scraping that off...finally the coffee donut. Not my favorite but not bad - it tasted like instant coffee and was kinda punchy coffee flavor, bitter. But I liked that the bitter offset the sweet. Overall, it's a fun place for a gourmet donut but be sure to not get here when it's too busy and to come early - they sell out of fun flavors fast!
