I've done a few rooms with friends and kids, and we all loved the experiences. The rooms are very high quality with lots of unique puzzles and fun things to look at in general. It's like being at Disneyland. Every room we've been in had three rooms to solve. The stories to the rooms were creative and weren't strictly about escaping. My favorite was the baby kraken. We were looking to do an escape room for the kids and we found availability this Sunday and booked our reservations!! Staff was very friendly and friendly and receptive. Just a minus star on the reservations - we were expecting to have the room to be just our family but we received a text before our time so indicating that another party was joining us. I guess my feel is that if it says 5 spots free - it meant that we had the room to ourselves but we were grouped with another family (mom and two young kids). No issues with the other family joining in the experience but you never know who you would be paired up!! We did the cosmic event. The room was clean and functional. We played Cosmic Crisis and enjoyed it. I especially liked how well-decorated the escape room was; it really did feel like a spaceship interior and that made it very immersive. The only downside is that games are public, so you may end up playing with strangers (up to 8 people per game). You can book out the remaining spots for 50% off to ensure a private game, but that can be costly. I do think that cosmic crisis was a little too easy for my group. We have all done escape rooms before so we did not find it too challenging. read more

Make sure all of the consent forms are done prior to event for a smoother check in. 4 girls arrived on time & I Planned on arriving 15 min earlier with 4 girls but had an issue when 1 gal was late from Oakley . I called to let them know we were running late by phone, advised as long as 5 min after scheduled time was ok. Great communication by text & we made it on time - Woohoo The girls had a fun time & almost escaped. They chose prison break which was rated one of the hardest one. I did not have to chaperone inside since all were 15 yo & up but I did have to hang out close by if any issues. They Would love to do again some day. read more

Had an amazing experience at this location! My friend and I did a 2 person game of their second hardest game, the Heist for 12:20 pm on a Saturday. We checked in early and waited for our DM to reset the room. It's a great space with lots of merchandise. They have about 6 rooms and each escape has unlimited hints. It's an interesting concept in which you can bring phones with you and search up anything. You can take photos and videos as well, so different from other escape rooms. The Heist was incredible with challenging puzzles both physically and mentally. We managed to escape with only 2 players Can't wait to come here again! read more

It was my wife's first escape room, and the kids 9 & 12 second (my third). Cosmic crisis was pretty immersive, and the kids really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back to try some of the other rooms in this location. We were able to complete the room without hints in just under an hour. Parking is at the mall, so it's conveniently located at entrance 6 near the theater/outback steakhouse. read more

Went to play Timeliner: Train Through Time at The Escape Game: Milpitas. We went in with 3 adults that have done a few escape rooms, 2 middle schoolers and an elementary schooler. This location has been only open for a few weeks, so everything is still pretty shiny and new. Staff is very friendly. I don't want to spoil anything about the game, but we absolutely loved it. We barely got out with one minute left, but we were letting the kids have a first shot at many puzzles. We didn't ask for hints, but they offered advice twice on the monitor - once when we didn't have any idea how to solve the puzzle; once when we solved the puzzle but didn't know where the clue popped out. I'd highly recommend this room - a wide variety of puzzles and scenes and something for everyone to do. Thought 6 was a good number - 7 or 8 would be a bit crowded, but doable. read more

My one ask.. and I am sure a lot of people want this but PLEASE MAKE YOUR ROOMS PRIVATE. I would feel like the majority of people and friend groups do not want to be mixed in with random strangers. There have been plenty of times we were deterred by seeing a room available but knowing we'd have to play with other people. If Escape Games changed this policy, that would be a game changer! Seems like The Escape Game is popping up everywhere and spreading quickly at this rate (I keep getting ads for it!). We first tried it out in Hawaii since it was conveniently located in Ala Moana when we were looking for an indoor activity to escape the heat. When we heard it was coming closer to home, and at a heavily discounted price, we figured why not give it another go. We were able to sign up for a free game upon the grand opening. We took up all 8 slots because we wanted a private booking, but only 6 people ended up coming. That actually ended up working in our favor because the rooms are actually pretty small and get crowded quick. I can't imagine cramming 8 people in there, much less with people you might not know. It could go either way - you might befriend each other and work amazingly well, or poor communication will be your worst enemy. That's the only downfall of The Escape Game franchise...you might have to split the game with randoms. There is an option to buy out all the spots at a discounted rate, but there's also always the chance that you'll get the room to yourself regardless if no one else books. Based on my previous experiences with this specific company, I think the perfect group size would probably be 4 people to a room. Some games are REALLY hard to play with only 2 people within the allotted time! We returned a couple weeks later since this location is still offering a 20% off all games during the initial opening period. We had some kinks in the game, so the game master generously added some extra time and also offered us all a chance to come back at a later time to play something else. Staff have all been very kind and welcoming, and really try to make your experience smooth! read more

Played Gold Rush with 8 people at this location for Preview Day. Most of us have done escape rooms before. My family has done two rooms in Honolulu, Hawaii and one in San Diego. Overall, the Escape Game does such a great job with their rooms. Need to go with the mindset of thinking outside the box with some of their puzzles, but having a few rooms under your belt does help. We made it out with 21:03 to spare and asked for no clues. Having 8 minds helped. The only thing I don't like is that it is possible for others to join your group if you don't have 8 people already. This happened with one of our games in Honolulu. But overall, we'd go back to this location. read more

Great escape room, fun puzzles, super friendly staff!! Came here with a total party size of 5 to escape Timeliner. Puzzles were super fun and the room was very modern (loved the projector screens). The theme was overall super fun and definitely recommend it if you want a mid-level escape room. Overall, not too difficult of an escape room but still super fun. Our game guide was LeDecia (I believe that was her name) and she was super friendly. Her hints were easy to follow and understand which we were glad for. Ended up escaping the room with 3 hints and 5 minutes left. The first 35 minutes were a breeze but we got stuck in the latter half. if you want a slightly more difficult room, I highly recommend playing Heist! Definitely thinking about trying Prison Break in the future. The $41 cost per person isn't bad and relatively comparable to other Escape Rooms. Only slight complaint is that you can't book out a time but rather have to book all 8 slots(?) which I thought was a bit strange. However, only a very minor thing and overall really enjoyed. read more

Had a company event here. We were in the room where we had to sabotage spaceship systems. Staff was very nice. The experience was ok. I'm not a big fan but I can see how others could like this type of entertainment. The room design is super cool. I think they opened very recently so everything is new and shiny. I think the problem then comes down to the price. In my opinion it is too expensive. It should be half the price of what they are charging. The place was not crowded at all. This is one of the best we've experienced. For this first visit, we did Gold Rush with 5 people ages 12 & 15 with parents. *The theming is detailed, immersive and fun! Love all the surprises and layers. *The cancellation and change policies are fair and even generous compared to others - it's nice to have flexibility when you're coordinating with a big group *The staff is friendly and great at what they do! A good game master makes all the difference and Monica was ours - she gave just enough of a clue to keep us moving, and didn't give any clues we didn't request (one of my pet peeves at other escape rooms we've been to). I wish I could recall the name of the man working the front desk, he was awesome, too! Staff was very approachable, friendly, and honest when letting us know the game may be delayed, so the manager accommodated us and allowed us to switch the game to an earlier time.
