Had an amazing time doing the Special Ops escape room! Huge shoutout to Jess for making it possible for our group to have a private room! It truly elevated the entire experience and made it even more fun and memorable for everyone. The experience we had today will definitely bring us back to try more rooms! read more

This is by far the cleanest, most well-maintained escape room that we've been to! They are always so welcoming. I love that it is kid-friendly as well. Not a lot of escape rooms are kid-friendly, but this one is incredible. Erik was so helpful! He really was welcoming as we walked in and made the experience fun. Thank you so much!!!! read more

The Escape Game is a fun, well run escape room right in the Vale Fair mall. It is a bit more expensive than others, but it feels polished and it's relatively new. We did a Western themed room, and everything was designed well enough to keep you engaged without overcomplicating things. We ended up with the fastest time of the week. It did not feel especially hard, so either we were way smarter than we thought or the room was a bit easier. Either way, it was a good time. The staff was friendly and kept things running smoothly. They stay on schedule, which helps the whole experience feel organized. Overall, a fun stop if you are already at the mall and want to do something a little different. One star less cuz it was easy and therefore short. read more

This was a fun game! I enjoyed playing with my group. Would recommend again! Elizabeth was our game master and she was very nice and accommodating read more

It was a great experience!! We want with our team at work and we felt it was a great challenge and a great team building activity!

Super fun! It was pretty intense. But we made it! My friends and I enjoyed very much!

Our students had a great time in the space room, Eric was very helpful to guide us when we got stuck. Would recommend for groups! Thank you

This is a *shared experience* in which our group (4 adults) was joined by 3 preteens and their mom. One of them had already played before and did take away some of the fun of that, given he knew clues and said we were "doing it out of order." I think they enjoyed themselves and I'll let kids be kids! The room was fun and had a lot of random puzzles to solve, we did the spice market one. And they said the clock would pause during videos but it didn't. Which I think videos took up 3-5 total minutes of our time. I liked the elevator element and the beginning spice shop. Overall the game was well made. The staff was friendly in that over acting saccharine way. read more

10/10 would do again. It was so fun with everyone! Our hosts were super helpful and fun

Very fun experience for my work team! We thought it would be really corny, but that evaporated quickly. Decent challenge (Gold Rush and The Depths) and everyone was pleasantly surprised at how challenging they were. Everyone was all smiles coming out of the rooms and said they 100% want to do another one for a team offsite. Interesting too that different locations have different room types and difficulty levels. read more

This was my second time here, and we did the Gold Rush room this time! Eric greeted us and was super energetic, and welcoming. He gave us some really helpful hints throughout the room without giving too much away, which made the experience even more fun. He was an amazing game master overall, and we had such a great time! Definitely recommend! read more

Just wrapped up the market special ops with our game master Q, super fun and challenging. The game master really knew when to check in and when to let us figure out the last bit. The best escape rooms in the bay! read more

We loved our time at The Escape Game here in Valley Fair! We came with a decent sized party on New Years Eve and had a great time with a seamless setup. Duke was our guide/host and he was very friendly and helpful throughout. We did the Gold Rush room and as escape rooms go it was pretty easy. At this point we've done probably a dozen or so of them and this may have been the easiest (we finished with 23:45 remaining, a record for the year). The room itself was pretty immersive and the process is fun, but just the right bit of challenging. It felt short, but that might've been because we got in a good groove and moved fast. Honestly, this was a really fun place that had an immersive room but we wish it had just been a bit more challenging. We'll definitely come back another time to try out other rooms though so we'll keep this in mind for next time! read more

Staff is so fun and positive. The set design is top notch (think nearly Disneyland quality). Games are challenging and the A/C is ON full!

Amazing immersive escape rooms that have an excellent accompanying plot. The Valley Fair location can't be beat for scheduling Silicon Valley meet-ups and the staff at the Escape Game are really good about giving clues, making sure we progress through the room in a timely manner. Really appreciate how kid-friendly the rooms and stories are, would not be able to handle some of the horror-themed escape rooms in other businesses. Took off one point because it's been three years and there's been no change in the escape rooms which means we've exhausted all of them and are now forced to play in other locations. Also it really sucks that they're not going to automatically give you a private room. Two times our party of 4 was lumped with another team and it was extremely awkward for all individuals involved. I'm paying for an escape room to solve interesting puzzles, not to spend an hour locked up with random strangers. Hope someday they will change that policy to match other escape rooms in the area! read more

Always a fun experience with friends. Recommend the Special Ops game at Valley Fair. Cosmic Crisis recently joined the lineup and is a fun game too. Might need more than 5-6 ppl for that one though. read more

I've been to other bay area locations but this is my first time at the San Jose one. I played The Heist here with my friends (total of 4 people). Booking process was easy (I did it via phone, and was informed that there is a possibility that the room could be shared with others and that I could purchase the rest of the slots for half price - I opted out). The staff here are quick to respond to any calls or texts. They gave me a call to check on our arrival since we were running late. Luckily we didn't miss too much. We shared the experience with 4 others (1 adult and 3 small kids) and it was cramped in that first room! It would definitely be uncomfortable if it was a full room of 8 adults in there. Thankfully we weren't in that 1st room for too long. Overall, the puzzles were well designed and creative. The kids we shared the experience with had a lot of energy which made it difficult for us adults to actually solve the puzzles, but we got through it for the most part. Our game master was attentive and made sure to only provide hints when it seemed like most of the group consented to it, even when someone pressed the button. Although we technically didn't escape in time, our game master allowed us to finish up the room since we were super close so that we could see the ending which we appreciated. Since the game master noticed that my group had a subpar experience because of the kids, we were offered a free private session for a future booking which I will definitely use! read more

very fun and interactive experience. Eric and Hermes were both very fun and helpful. our group of 7 had a great time

Aditya was great!! Turned into an impromptu game after finishing dinner and our group had the best time!

Ok, gave this place another try. Did the Heist with 1/2 the family yesterday. Much better experience with this 8/10 difficulty room. There were a hiccup where a puzzle should have caused a clue to come out, but it didn't. The staff was very apologetic about it and did a lot of stuff to make it up to us, which we really appreciate. The staff here has always been top notch. Since we came on a whim, we got the room to ourselves. The room was scheduled to start basically 5 minutes before we arrived. Overall the theming was much better, but I would say that while we did need a couple of hints aren't overly difficult. I don't think it would have been as "fun" if the whole family was with. There wouldn't have been enough puzzles to keep us all engaged. Upping the stars but I wouldn't do these rooms with a full 8 people. I would rate it a lot less if the room was full. So the trick is to come with fewer people and it would be a lot of fun. read more

Very fun! Nice and challenging but doable. All staff was super nice and helpful. Great way to spend an hour

Aditya was great thank you so much! will be back again. strongly recommend gold rush for families
