This was my first time at this escape room and it was really fun! There are 3 rooms to choose from. I was in a group of 7 which makes it more fun because you can split off in teams to figure the puzzles out! It was unique in you really had to think outside your zone to understand how to the answers to some of the puzzles and listen to other people to figure it out together. You do get to ask a staff member for help if you get stuck on something too long, which is very helpful. This one was challenging but great fun with a team to figure it all out and get out before the hour is up! Definitely do this again in the future! read more

This was my first time ever trying an escape room. We went with a group of seven people, for someone's birthday. Mpower was the perfect escape room and the host was amazing. The attendees were various different age groups ranging from 40 years old to 16 year old and we found it challenging but very fun! We choose the cabin escape room and even got the birthday customization which I recommend doing if you are going to celebrate a birthday! For my daughter's 14th birthday we wanted to do an escape room. We didn't realize that there was one right here in Morgan Hill. So it is upstairs, in the same building as Papa's place, just on other end. The door is off of Monterey Road in the middle of the building. This was our first escape room and was 5 of us doing it. I dont know how many rooms total there are per are. We sis the Haunted Cabin and made it through 3 rooms which was about 11 locks and puzzles. Some were very tricky. But we had one girl with us that was amazing with the combinations. Also we definitely needed a lot of hints along the way. The owner was amazing, gave us hints as we needed. We were able to talk to her while going through tying to find hints. We all had a blast doing this escape room. We did The Cabin. This was our first escape room. My bro, sis-in-law and nephew have done an Escape room in the past. It was for my nephew's birthday. My sis in law had the crew include something special with his name and picture . It was hilarious! Cute little touch to make him feel special. They even had a pic of him hanging in the room. We were all laughing at the article that they put in the room. Over all this was a fun family outing and we definitely would like to try another one. My 11 year old son said we should've picked a harder one. This was rated 3 out of 5 in terms of difficulty. We only used 1 out of 5 clues. We went today for my cousins birthday and it was a great experience. We entered the parking lot from 2nd street and parked behind the building. The front door takes you upstairs to the lobby. The host was very informative when she explained the rules as it was our first time doing this kind of thing. We got the cabin room! I would say it's challenging but fun at the same time. Very exciting feeling when you get a key to the next riddle. Great for birthday parties for sure. You get an hour in the room for $35/person. Very clean. I was worried about the rooms being stuffy but it had great airflow. If you need to leave for any reason you can which is a plus if you get claustrophobic. read more

We did the Cabin Escape room last night as an early bday celebration for our son. It was so awesome!!! Just like the reviews say, the cabin decorations are so cool. We all worked together as a team and escaped in 48 min with just 2 out of 5 clues used! The area you wait in is awesome too. The man who was working last night (i don't remember his name, but it was whoever was working Saturday night at 7:00pm) was really great and nice! Saw these things in movies and TV shows and never anticipated enjoying an escape room as I did here (my first) yesterday. We were greeted, instructed, and "cared for" (you are allowed up to five clues if needed) by Nate. We entered the cabin for a quick video that caused me to worry that I might be about to waste an hour of my time - I didn't see the significance of the video. Thankfully as soon as the video ended, we had the most fun ever expected! The detail, the thought, and the abundance of variety to ESCAPE was tremendous. We only needed to request 2 out of the 5 allotted clues available. And we successfully escaped in 48 of the 60 minutes. This was clever, fun, entertaining, invigorating, and worth the time. Would strongly recommend and am looking forward to returning for the secret room!! read more

Eight of us celebrated my daughter's 12th birthday here and had a BLAST! I chose the birthday package and it did not disappoint! My daughter's image was included in the puzzle! We had such a great time! Only two of us had been to an escape room before and everyone left vowing to do it again. The Cabin - 3.5/5 (An above average room in the local area). I've done over 80 rooms across the bay area/seattle/new orleans, and was surprised to hear that Morgan Hill had an escape room company, and that it was worth going to. After having done the room, I definitely agree. While this room doesn't quite meet the standards of the great rooms that I've done elsewhere, for a new company's first room given what I'm assuming is a smaller operation compared to the bigger companies, they did a great job with the space that they had, and the room compares favorably to many of the other good rooms in the area. I'm excited to see the next room that this company comes up with ( harder puzzles please!), and hope that they are successful and overcome their weird location by getting a lot of people from San Jose, since Morgan Hill is a pretty small town. This is inbetween a Gen 1 (only combination locks) and Gen 2 (automated sensors instead of locks) room designed more towards beginners. Beginners should probably take 4-6, enthusiasts should take closer to 2. We were able to escape with 15 mins left, and since we're bad at escape rooms, that means that this room is probably on the easier side. The difficulty of the room on the Cabin is strangely set to 4* on the website - when the new room comes out, it would probably be better to lower that to 2 or 3 since it was on the easier side of things. The set was surprisingly good and is the main strength of the room. Office buildings tend to have more mediocre sets, but the company did a good job of making you feel like you were in a cabin in a swamp given how little room they had to work with. They clearly put a lot of effort into making it, and it's easy to appreciate it. You could compare this to maybe a scaled down/budget version of Enchambered's Skull Witch in Sacramento if you've ever been there. One issue I had was the tech was that some of the sensors made very annoying clicking sounds during some parts of the game. It would be nice to mask that noise with some more ambient sounds or get rid of it somehow. I was a bit disappointed in the story: the puzzles were on theme, but they wasn't really integrated well with story really. The room felt much more of a "do random puzzles in a swamp setting" rather than actually uncovering the mystery of your friend's disappearance. Many rooms do tend to have similar issues, and I find that the room would feel more immersive if there was actually a reason why you were doing half of the puzzles in the room. It would have also been nice if they could use exclusively custom props: one puzzle involved a prop that could very easily been flipped to a bad state without a real way of going back to the relevant part (sorry for being vague, but trying to prevent spoilers), which seemed a bit finnicky. The puzzles were definitely on the easier side, but there were a couple of fun ones with a twist. They covered most of the classic escape room puzzle tropes, and threw in a more involved logic puzzle which was fun. Personal Stats: Escaped in ~45 mins in a group of 2 enthusiasts. read more

This is my 54th room and counting! The owner was very accommodating in helping me book my room on a slow day and was extremely friendly and inviting us to her space which resembled more of a chic living room than a lobby. 1st impression was great and everything was clean and great quality. The Cabin was a well thought-out ER with high quality props, great design, and kept the story/theme within its puzzles. Nothing was too far-fetched and puzzles made sense which allowed our team of 2 to progress at a steady rate and escape with just a few minutes to spare. We appreciated the variety of tasks and despite being more Gen 1/some Gen2 tech, it achieved its goal of providing an engaging and entertaining experience. My company did one of the virtual Escape Rooms for a team-bonding exercise at work. It was my first experience doing an escape room and it was so much fun!! It was amazing how they well they were able to adapt and tackle the tricky task of creating an experience that was COVID-safe but still extremely fun, engaging, and challenging. The rangers were amazing at walking us through the entire process and it was definitely helped create some fun, friendly competition among our teams. This was my first time ever doing an escape room and I had a lot of fun! I honestly thought I'd get frustrated and want to give up, but they give you 5 hints max if you want to take it. Storyline was interesting and def well thought out. My friends and I did this as a wholesome late Valentine's Day double date plan and it was worth. $30 per person and you have to sign a waiver. Was a bit hard trying to find this place tbh but also try the falafel place nearby before or after coming here. Shhhmack Oh and our friends were running a bit late but the lady was super helpful and checked the schedule to see what she could do. Luckily no one was booked after us so she didn't need to cut our hour short or anything, but just a tip! Try to be on time so that you get your full hour to finish! :) they'll still let you do the escape room but you'll only have the remainder of the time from the start of your appointment. we barely finished with 5 mins left LOL but ayyye we finisheddddd!! read more

MPOWER's Cabin room was a very fun, though sometimes frustrating, experience. I do recommend it for what it is. The location is a little difficult to find, but it wasn't completely hidden away. Our game master was charismatic and helped us understand the rules and story clearly. Once the expositional video played, we stepped into a room with a little forest to the right and a cabin to the left. It was not the most detailed set in the world, but it was still immersive enough that I did not feel like I was just playing in an office space. The only real "complaint" I have is that the room felt too lit up due to the spotlights overhead, but it was a necessary addition because otherwise the puzzles would not have been visible. The puzzles were mostly combination locks with a few tech puzzles mixed in. While they were "themed" to the room (i.e. they had to do with the forest and the dock next to the cabin and the family that lived in the cabin), none of them really felt integrated into the story. They did not progress the story in the same way that other escape rooms do. While these "complaints" don't warrant a 4-star as opposed to a 5-star, there is one problem I faced that does: there is no efficient way to keep track of how much time is left in the experience. Not a single room had any type of clock or timer or anything. We only received one warning near the end of the game. There should be some way to keep time, whether it be through game master giving us updates or a clock/timer in the room itself. Other than the issue of timekeeping, I enjoyed the room. The puzzles were really fun and we barely went over time. I am excited to return and try the Secret room when it opens! read more

Our company wanted to do a virtual teambuilder so we decided to give MPower Escape Rooms a try. Due to the pandemic, they have adapted and created a virtual escape room that can be done through Zoom. We broke up in to 4 groups and each group had a "Ranger" who was there to answer any questions/ assist throughout the escape. My group had Ranger A who was great. She explained everything really well and made the experience enjoyable. We did "The Cabin" and managed to escape within the 60 minutes. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. So much fun! This was our first escape room experience and I am so glad we did this one as our starter one. We all had no idea what to expect but were helped and guided by the proctor when we got there. She was super sweet and friendly and really made us feel at ease. When you enter the Cabin room, she set the clock for one hour and closed the door. We had to figure out a series of puzzles to get clues and keys to help us to the next one. Way more fun then I thought it would be so solve. Some were harder then others but I can look back now and think what I could have done differently to get finished quicker. They give you up to 5 clues if you need them and we definitely needed them at one point. We were able to "escape" in 56 minutes with 4 adults and a pre-teen (who loved it and was very helpful in many of the puzzles). There is a second room they are opening up next month at this location and we definitely will be back! read more

I played this game with some friends for my birthday, and I was so happy that I came to MPower. I'd finished off almost all of the escape rooms in the south bay, and though Morgan Hill is a bit removed, I would easily consider their "The Secret" room in my top 5 rooms in the south bay. The set design is on point, everything is very clean and crisp, while still giving an air of mystery to the room. In addition to the set design, the puzzles felt very satisfying. There was a good variety of puzzle types, with some particularly creative puzzle presentations I hadn't seen done before! The story was decent, but not over the top, but nonetheless, I'd highly recommend The Secret(and The Cabin!) to anyone in the area. It's worth the drive! read more

Really fun birthday experience for my daughter. We had fun working together as a team and enjoyed the theme of the Cabin. This was a super family friendly experience that we enjoyed a lot. We loved the fun personalizations they did for my daughter by including her in the clues and props- it was so cute. There is a secure locker to lock up phones, purses, etc so that is nice as well. The only things I would say could be improved were the lack of air conditioning in the room (it was really really hot and humid- we thought maybe it was to add to the bayou theme but it was just way too much for our group which included three teens, three adults (one of which is pregnant) and a baby). We were able to escape in JUST under and hour, and would have escaped sooner but a critical expo marker was missing from the room which set us back trying to find it in order to get the next clue figured out which required the marker. So our experience would have been improved by a little AC and making sure that all necessary items are present in the room before starting the experience. Other than that, the staff is nice and friendly, and as others have mentioned, the props are high quality and fun, the prompts are interesting and silly, and there is a lot of opportunity for your family (or friends) to bond! We loved it a lot. We would recommend and will probably return in the future! read more

Puzzle Rooms are fun and challenging. Now there is one in Morgan Hill! MPOWER is located in downtown Morgan Hill - lots of easy parking in the Morgan Hill Parking Garage, wide range of bars and restaurants within walking distance, and a safe vibe. The puzzle room is well run. We checked in within 10 minutes and were in the room on time. If you like puzzle rooms, this was a good one. If you have never been to one, you should try it. It is great fun for a family, group of friends, or a double date. It is good for any age group 12 and up. Highly recommend MPOWER. read more
