Turkey Pot Pie
Ciege A.

We enjoyed eating here when visiting Spokane Falls. The food was delicious and the service was good - and everything was reasonably priced. We ordered two specials. The turkey pot pie and the Bacon Broccoli Penne. Both were really good! The Turkey Pot Pie was one of the best I've had in a long time. The service was good. Our order was taken fairly quickly, the food came out quick, and we were checked in on a couple of times. The restaurant was a little loud. The tables are fairly close together. There are lots of TV's if you are trying to catch a game. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and would go back if we lived in the area and would recommend to others.

Sunday afternoon in Spokane and my husband and I were hungry! We didn't want to go downtown to eat because we thought it would be busy and didn't want to pay for parking so we decided to try Elk Public House. It was recommended by a local who is also a colleague of mine. We arrived at around 1:15 and the place was crowded. Luckily we were able to find a booth right away. The vibe was good with football games being played on the TVs. There was a large bar area and lots of seating. The service was a bit slow and it took about 5 minutes to actually be able to put our order in.The menu had some good options for my salad craving along with sandwich options, soups, wraps and entrees. They had a nice selection of beers, wines and cocktails too! My colleague recommended the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich so my husband and I ordered that to share along with a whole order of the Southwestern Taco Salad. We didn't add any protein to it, which is extra and it might have made the salad a bit heartier. We both ordered waters to drink and my hubby ordered the No Li Wrecking Ball Stout which he said was good. The food took a bit to come out but it was a busy Sunday so I get that. So for my review of the food...The sandwich was so tasty! The chicken was tender and juicy and the breading wasn't heavy nor was it greasy. It was served on a fresh brioche bun and had roasted poblanos, jack cheese, red onion, lettuce (which didn't state that on the menu but we didn't mind it) and a scrumptious honey cream cheese. We had a choice of potato chips (jalapeño, salt & vinegar, regular), potato salad or roasted corn pasta (which was recommended but my husband loves jalapeño chips so that's what we ordered). I would order this again in a heartbeat and probably try the corn pasta salad and ask for additional honey cream cheese! Our salad was enormous and a half order might have worked but I was a bit hungry (I didn't eat breakfast) so it was perfect. The salad was good (actually, just ok) and it reminded me of a salad I would get in a cafeteria. The corn was canned and the cheese tasted like shredded cheese from a bag. The chips were probably crushed no-name Doritos and the salad dressing wasn't anything spectacular. The romaine was fresh and not wilted so that part was a plus. I eat/order a ton of salads so I will disclose that I am very picky about my salads so this review may be a bit harsh for some but for those of you who aren't picky about your salads may be ok with this salad. The service wasn't the best either. Refilling our waters took awhile and we had to ask for it. Our server was not attentive to our needs in that regard and took a bit of time to come by and ask if our food was good. All in all I would definitely come back for the chicken sandwich.

Korean pork bowl was amazing. Had a good amount of spice but not too much.

Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Just recommended the Korean pork bowl and he was spot on. You can always count on this classic restaurant to deliver.

We stopped in here for a late night dinner after flying into Spokane. The food, beer, and service were excellent! I asked for a recommendation of local IPA's and was steered clearly to two choices that I loved. Our server mentioned they were featured on DDD and so I chose one of the dishes that Guy tried, the BBQ Chicken quesadilla. It was quite tasty and served with a side of smoked onion sauce for dipping! We shared the Kung Pao cauliflower and that was a hit as well. I also got to try the gumbo that a friend ordered and it was great! The place had a great atmosphere and the locals were friendly. This is a place I come back to a bunch if I were from these parts! You should give them a try!

I came by Elk Public House with a friend who had been here before after visiting a nearby museum. We grabbed a table and ordered some wine by the glass before ordering dinner. The white wine we ordered was just okay. For dinner I had the Sante Fe Chicken sandwich. I wanted to order the Spicy Chicken sandwich without the pickled jalapeño, but our server suggested the Sante Fe instead. I went with the recommendation, and it worked out for the most part. I'm not a big pepper person in general, so I ended up picking off the poblanos. I was able to get half a side order or corn pasta salad and half a side order of salt & vinegar potato chips. I think it's pretty neat to be able to split sides like that. While both sides were generous portions, they were also pretty salty and tangy. It wasn't bad, it was just a lot. I'd really like to come back here and order something different. When the weather is nice the patio is very inviting. Parking is mostly nearby street parking, so if you don't live in this neighborhood, be prepared to walk a few blocks from where you parked to get here.

Finally got here tonight!! What great food! We split the Swimming Angel and today's special, the Gnocchi. So flavorful, So fresh & such great service! We WILL be back!

I don't write a lot of these, so when I do, pay attention!…read more I probably drove by this place 20 times before I actually noticed it. Then, once I noticed it, I didn't go in because I've had mixed experiences with little breweries like this. Eventually, I finally walked through the door, and I'm writing this review to help you not make the same mistake I did . The first thing you notice is how warm and inviting the place is. Wood tables, fun chairs, great music, and plants. So many plants. It feels like an actual neighborhood hangout. Here's the funny part: I can't stand beer. My wife likes it, but my taste buds won't allow it. I'm also a type 2 diabetic, so a lot of the usual brewery food isn't really an option for me. But the first time we came in, I saw things like Caprese Salad, Italian Salad, Smoked Salmon, and other options that actually work for me. And then I discovered they make their own hard seltzers. Game changer! They always have several fun flavors, and they're unsweetened, which is exactly what I'm looking for. You can also get cans to go if you want to bring some home. You can tell the husband and wife owners have put a lot of love into this place. It's comfortable, welcoming, a little quirky, and they've always been incredibly kind. So if you live around here or just driving through, check it out!

I ordered the Fig Sandwich and the Fancy Pants Sando because I could not decide between the two as they both sounded very unique in different ways. I called the place up and arranged to come pick the food up. The person on the phone was very thoughtful in keeping in mind at what time I would arrive so he could arrange for the sandwich to be toasted at the right time. I appreciate small details like that. When I arrived, I noticed there were several tables and a bar where you can essentially get brews and food. I noticed they had several beers on tap which I was very curious about, but unfortunately did not have time to sit down and eat at this establishment. The person at the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. The two sandwiches came up to $40ish. I brought the sandwiches home and first tried a few bites of the Fancy Pants Sando. I will have to say it was the better of the two sandwiches. I appreciated the goat cheese in the sandwich and the mix of different ingredients, but it was not something I would consider to be a great sandwich, at least not for me. Others might find it pleasant, but I did not care for it much. The fig sandwich was the one I was more excited about and expected some sweetness to be cut down by the bacon. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The beer looks fun though and might be a good reason to give this place a try, and you may enjoy their sandwiches and many people have. For me, that's a no-go.

When we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and the guy at the bar was genuinely friendly and helpful, which always makes a difference. The food prep was impressively fast, and everything was packaged neatly and thoughtfully for takeout. We started with the pretzel, which was solid, but the real standout was the mustard--super unique with a tangy, spicy, almost wasabi-like kick that made it memorable. For mains, the curry dish hit a great balance--flavorful without being overpowering or too mild. And the biggest endorsement came from my daughter, who ordered the kids pasta with marinara and added chicken--she declared it the "best spaghetti she's ever had!" (Shh... don't tell mom.) Overall, great service, tasty food, and a welcoming vibe. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars is I'd love to explore more of the menu next time--but based on this visit, we'll definitely be back.

Volleyball tournament at Eastern U but decided to stay in Spokane @The Louie (check out that review too) for the weekend AND IT'S RESTAURANT WEEK, YAY US!!! Being an 80s kid, we used to say 'bad', but it actually meant 'good'. "That haircut is so bad" was…read moreactually a compliment. To avoid confusion, 'bad' turned to 'rad' (short for radical). Goat used to be bad...if a kid was the goat on the team, he was the worst player. Now, goat has turned to 'Greatest of all time' due to the acronym G.O.A.T. So when we went to dine at The Flying Goat in Spokane, the question on my mind is...will it be 2000's GOAT, or 1980's goat? The interior was pretty small but a unique layout of tables. I liked the darkness of the restaurant and the darker wood they use for accents and the bar. They also have a larger patio that is adorned with space heaters, umbrellas, and a wooden shady overhang...so no matter the weather you may be able to enjoy your meal outdoors. They also have a private event building that can seat a party. Our server was attentive and helpful. We did get there right when they opened for lunch, but that doesn't always equate to good and special attention. We ordered two of their artisan pizzas for our table of 3. The 'Fairview' was a must order and a huge hit. It used a heavy cream base and a house cheese blend. The toppings were house back bacon, gorgonzola sprinkles and pears...yes pears, which made this sucker pop! We also ordered a Lacrosse pizza- olive oil, fresh mozz, red peppers, italian sausage, pecorino and basil. This pizza was really light but packed a flavor punch as well. They have many other specialty pizzas on their menu that also sound amazing, ranging from yellow curry based to ones with snap peas, fried eggs, carrots and more. If artisan pizzas aren't your jam, they have sandwiches, salads, stews and more. To answer my original question...this place is the 2000s Goat...or very close to GOAT. Not my favorite all-time pizza place, but definitely in contention! Thanks Flying Goat for an amazing lunch!
