The Electric Cure is a such a unique, eclectic mix of Tiki bar and Dive bar! The moment you walk in, you're immersed in a colorful, kitschy world of velvet paintings, neon signs and pirate themed tiki decor. The staff was super friendly and attentive, they greeted us as we entered and promptly served us up some incredible Tiki drinks to enjoy while taking in all of the fun artifacts around the bar. I ordered the 'Yarr Queen' and my partner got the 'Life uhh.... Finds a way,' both were incredibly delicious, fresh and chuggable! We will definitely be back. I'd definitely recommend you check out this fun neighborhood spot! read more

I offered to take a friend out for a bday drink. We stopped because it looked like a small hole in the wall with music blaring from the door. Knowing nothing about the bar the first thing that hit us was the smell. After noting the busy Friday night crowd was mostly white and college-age, my friend quipped the scent reeked of bad decisions & regret. I don't want to go into too many details. Let's just say after scanning the crowd and the scent, we expected dive bar drink options and realized after we could actually see behind the bar that it did have a specialty drink/rum bar feel. The decor was very cool/unique and some patrons dressed in flower clothes/leis to match the theme. The service was average. They weren't super attentive, but not ignoring us. They obviously had to have some special skills to serve some of the drinks they have on the menu. I think the Electric Cure is a good option if you are looking for custom cocktails in an eclectic, loud, bright venue with a young crowd. For me personally, if the tab for 2 drinks is going to be $42+ (they add on a 20% gratuity and tax to drinks that run $14-18 each) I prefer a more intimate, classy atmosphere and less messy crowd. read more

The menu was themed with Jeff Goldblum references, and my PB&J cocktail came with a condom pinned to it. I have absolutely no idea why and was too afraid to ask. Drink was delish tho! read more

What a fun spot! Stopped in with a group during the satanic themed month of February. It's definitely a show with the drinks. They taste great, take time to make and it's a lively crowd. Really great spot to be entertained while enjoying some flavorful and creative drinks. I'll be back! read more

Neat funky tiki vibe type of bar..It's a small place and can get crammed in there really fast. Drinks were amazing delicious the mai tai was perfect! not too sweet and the perfect amount of alcohol. They have a self serve water station. Bartenders were friendly and most locals there as well. Definitely a neat place to check out if in the area. We also enjoyed their play list of music and all the funny art displayed. read more

This is a place Denver has needed for a very long time! While they love the dead, they will serve mortals with the same level of enthusiastic, friendly service. The drinks are AMAZING. I had the Satan's Satanic Satanists, which they serve in a HUGE skull mug and set on fire! The flames shot up to the ceiling! Finally a place that gives the undead a drink they can be proud of. The place is haunted. It sits on an ancient gay indian burial ground, so expect paranormal activity. People have claimed they have seen glasses move on their own across tables. But then again, those people were probably drunk, because they serve the drinks strong here. But they are so delicious and creatively prepared, you're going to have more than one. This place is the party. You need to go! read more

The Electric Cure - They greet the undead with love at The Electric Cure. - Tiki Bars Near Me - Edgewater, Colorado

This place smells like a frogs ass! The drinks are also expensive and it seems like they are just thrown together. No good. The bartenders aren't very friendly nor do they care about customers, and also the fact that they have to add a 20% gratuity is garbage. Just get better bartenders that have better service and this way people will actually want to tip and not HAVE to... I'd give 0 stars if I could. read more

Love, love, love! Monster Bingo Night was so much fun! Bartenders were amazing. Welcoming and talented. Mikey let me preview his Star Wars cocktail submission. AMAZEBALLS!!! Hope they choose it to serve. Mikey is a great mixologist! Small bar with fun bartenders and patrons. Take the time to visit Electric Cure, you won't be disappointed! read more

First it is important to know that this is a very unique and niche bar, so if you are offended by horror, pentagrams, and satan decor then this might not be the spot for you. My partner and I stopped in here for drinks on a Sunday afternoon. It is a very small space so the timing was right for us and there was plenty of seating. The drinks are creative and delicious; the bartender will definitely help you find something you'll like. The service was *chefs kiss* amazing. I didn't catch the name of our bartender but they were absolutely phenomenal! They were so friendly and really wanted us to find the perfect drink. We will absolutely be coming back. read more

"Satan's Satanic Satanist" was the shareable cocktail that we selected at The Electric Cure tiki bar in Edgewater last night. Eclectic occult decor oozes throughout. Around 6pm, it was pretty easy to find a table, but the small space filled quickly. The prices are very high; one pays for the pyrotechnic experience and kitschy ambience. This is a fun place to take out of town guests. Bring your own metal straws, if you detest paper straws as much as I do. Free diagonal street parking is a huge plus. This location makes up a part of the unholy trinity of similar bars that include "Hell or High Water" and "Honor Farm" both located in LoDo. read more

Went to this place on 4/15/22 as The Brutal Poodle was debuting their new food truck! Pros- -The place was easy to find, a good amount of street parking but you may need to walk a couple blocks, nothin too bad -Sick vibe, cool lights everywhere with super rad art and plenty of occult imagery for those of us that enjoy it, nothing TOO in your face -Great drinks and promotions it seems pretty commonly, good selection of beers and cocktails! -All employees were nice enough, didn't get much interaction time however Cons- -Super busy on that Friday night due to the food truck being present -Due to volume, line for drinks was disorganized and slow -Due to volume, small space was really packed and had to start limiting entry No cons due to the employees or service, all was great and they did the best they could. Would recommend and would go back! read more

I was charged $44 for 4 green tea shots that were horribly executed. The staff took over 15 minutes to complete my order from start to finish when I was the only person ordering at the bar. One of the employees, I think he was a manager, heckled me "in a friendly manner" for at least 5 minutes before deciding to tell one of his staff members that I would like to order. I was made to feel uncomfortable and the service was absolutely below subpar. I would recommend any other place that isn't here. read more

Had a blast at this place. I am not a big bar person in general but I love a good tiki bar/drink and try to visit famous/note worthy ones in different places I travel. I loved the satanic tiki decor I saw online so I decided to check it out during my stop over in Denver. The atmosphere is a ton of fun, the drinks were creative and delicious, and the bartenders were awesome. I loved the tiki drinks the bartenders recommended to me and I enjoyed just hanging out and chatting with them for two hours. Great drinks, atmosphere, and people, I highly recommend. read more

Stopped in here for a quick drink and seemed like a pretty cool place. I was interested in this place as soon as I saw the funny yelp review on the window about a Karen complaining about their satanic theme. Friendly service, fun drinks, and great decorations. Only disappointment was that my drink was all ice.. literally I got 3 small sips and it was completely gone, so that was kind of a bummer - both for the experience and my wallet. We were on a time crunch when we visited, but I'd definitely stop back in again next time we're in the area. read more

The Electric Cure - a drink with an umbrella - Tiki Bars Near Me - Edgewater, Colorado

Despite advertizing itself as one, this isn't a tiki bar. It has some tiki standards on the menu, but other than that, there's nothing "tiki" about it. It's decor is dive-bar meets Rocky Horror vibe, which can be fun it's own way, but not when it advertizes itself as a tiki bar. Luckily their other location downtown is much better for that vibe. I might be willing to forgive all that if then tiki cocktails was amazing: unfortunately, they're not. I've had probably hundreds of mai tais from Florida to Hawaii, and the one I had here was easily the worst I've ever had. On top of that, I waited almost 30 mins for it because their staff kept talking with each other rather than concentrating on bartending. As someone who loves tiki bars and worked in the service industry for a long time, it takes a lot for me to give a 1 star review, but this is one was a no brainer. read more

Place was super cool with a awesome vibe. They seemed busy so I just waited until the bartender was done making his drinks ( probably 5 minutes) then he looks at me and said I need id and vaccine cards, which is fine. But we were in from Alaska and cards were in the car. he could have mentioned something and he was perfecting his cocktail. ordered 2 beers. The guy gave them to me, then said there's a $5 cover charge and then added 20% gratuity?? I don't know if he didn't like my outfit or something. I just paid my $18 for two cans of the cheapest beer and was on my way. Your allowed to be nice and make money! Some people don't understand this. Everyone in America is usually in some sort of service industry. We are all dealing with people.. just be nice. read more

Forget this place. I thought this was one of the best bars in town as I used to go there all the time. I took a small group of friends there last night, and the staff was beyond rude. They entirely ignored us for almost 30 minutes which was fine. We were patient and just hung out. I had to interrupt a bartender that was in their tenth personal conversation to place an order of four drinks. She made two and disappeared in the kitchen hugging and talking to people. We asked another bartender to complete the order which he did begrudgingly. We tried to get another round with five people working behind the bar, but I couldn't even get one can of beer. Total asshats and this used to be my favorite neighborhood bar. I will never step foot in here again. I will never bring friends. I will never recommend this place. read more

Well, I absolutely love the idea of a tiki bar in Edgewater with a long list of tiki style cocktails, so we needed to check this place out. First and foremost, I have seen public restrooms that were much larger and cleaner than this establishment... there is barely enough room for a small bar and a few tables... I think you could maybe fit 30 people comfortably in this place, and it had considerably more than that. Whole place reeked of BO, weed, and pee. Second, they were playing hip hop and old skool gangsta rap all night... in a tiki bar? Certainly not the vibe I was expecting. Decided to play it safe and order a basic Mai Tai. I have had over 50 variations of the Mai Tai, you can get as creative as you want there, very difficult cocktail to ruin... but somehow they managed. They started with a "secret house rum blend" poured from an opaque plastic jug... it was bottom shelf well rums. Then they added so much bitters and spice I couldn't even taste any fruit juice... zero citrus notes at all... but they added a sprig of peppermint the greasy bartender repeatedly slapped against his bare arm before rubbing around the rim... peppermint... in a Mai Tai? It was undrinkable swill... but it was also expensive with the 20% mandatory gratuity... so I managed to choke it down. Needed to get that foul taste out of my mouth so I randomly selected their "Dolce & Banana" cocktail... and surprisingly that was excellent... you should definitely try that. No food available... not even a bag of crisps on a pegboard... but considering the varied sanitary issues that was probably for the best. Word of warning: you absolutely CANNOT go East on 25th to get back to Sheridan! There is a do not enter sign and a small plastic barrier there for no apparent reason at all... then we saw the Edgwater Police parked right there on 25th pulling over everyone who went out that way. BS barrier only exists for them to write tickets... do not be tricked. Crowd was mixed... looked mostly like locals who walked there... and I was the only guy in the place wearing a Hawaiian shirt... bartenders both were in T shirts. Definitely NOT a "tiki bar" even if they want to pretend and play make believe. Will not be back. read more

I don't usually write Yelp reviews but I make an exception for things and places that are truly unique and delightful. The Electric Cure definitely qualifies! Their hilarious, weird decor alone lets you know when you walk in that it's something special (Jeff Goldblum on black velvet! Dr. Steve Brule! Make a game of finding all the hidden dicks!) but it's way more than just a gimmick. The people behind this truly love what they do and it shows (they blow the overhyped Adrift out of the water IMHO). They don't make drinks so much as works of art, elevating Tiki drinks into something really fantastic. These drinks involve (but are not limited to) tableside spurts of fire, smoke bubbles and optional "spanks of mint" (I'd say more but I don't want to ruin the surprise). They are incredibly fun and creative but, most importantly, 1000% delicious! I heartily recommend Satan's Satanic Satanists, Dolce & Banana and my personal favorite Life, Uh, Finds A Way but, if you don't have a sweet tooth or love rum like me, there's also Bourbon, Fernet and Mezcal options that are quite tasty and unique. They also have beer and a regular full bar if you really wanna go to a bar like this and not order the crazily cool concoctions available but I recommend treating yourself. Yes, it will take some time for them to craft these creative drinks and you will need to actually pay attention to the sign stating to order at the end of the bar (stay salty, people who can't read or appreciate that good things take time), and yes, it is a smaller bar with no food options but trust me, it's worth the wait and the price. If you're hungry before or after, there's a lot of really good restaurants in the area - definitely check out the nearby Edgewater Public Market if you want something to eat, they've got a lot of delicious stuff. The extremely talented bartenders are all friendly and fun-loving if you're not a jerk. Yes, there's a tip already included on each bill, but for the work they do (which again, involves *literal freaking fire*), they earn every penny and more! Plus, great events like drag queen bingo, horror trivia, shark attacks and Satanic Masses might take place when you visit if you're lucky (the drag queen bingo on Sundays does cost extra to attend but that's the cost of paying to be entertained)! Anyways, tl;dr - The Electric Cure is uniquely awesome with mindblowing drinks. Enjoy every minute you get to bask in it's funky, fantastic presence! read more

This is probably one of the coolest bars in Denver with the most unique drink builds and even more unique people behind the bar, such an amazing team that kills it at what they do, the drinks are awesome and the djs they have come every now and then always put on such a tasteful vibe, industry menu and amazing rum drinks in a swanky colorful velvet lounge setting, literally what more could you ask for, if you wanna impress a outgoing date this is the place read more

I've been to a lot of tiki places over the last few years, and absolutely love the Electric Cure! I luckily found this place by driving by, starting to learn the different the neighborhoods in the Denver area. While I haven't experienced the nighttime entertainment yet, I will say that the decor is really eclectic and super awesome and the drinks (and their presentation) are all 10/10! Plus, Doug lights a lot of them on fire!! Thanks so much for existing! So grateful to have found y'all! read more

Unique, accepting, delightfully weird cocktail bar. They fly their pride and pirate flags long and large. Rum drinks are good, uniquely interesting. Life Uh Finds a Way was my fav, though added a little mint from another friend's drink to it. They warn you that the unique and interesting drinks will take a while, but one sadness is that, above and beyond that, our female bartender took an incredibly long time talking to 2 other guys she knew coming in and didn't even pretend to pay attention to making our second and third drinks for a bit or, more importantly, tell us what was going on; a guy behind the bar eventually did, which was great. We did find out about a cool 10 year anniversary event from listening to her chat up the folks next to us, though. Otherwise great vibe and solid interesting drinks. read more
