This was after a day in St John. After we got off the ferry, my lady and I were super hungry. We were walking and saw the ambiance of this place and were like...oh yeah this is the spot for dinner before we head back to Amalie. Let me tell you - the food was exquisite!!! We had every course. The jerk shrimp tostadas were good. The bread was also great absurd a nice complement to wait for our main courses. I had the lamb chops and my lady had a nice seafood. I have nothing but 10/10 for every course. We had crème brûlée and affogato for dessert. I love affogato. Spectacular experience, and well worth it for the amount of food we got for $200. In DC, that would be a drink and a main course. We both had multiple drinks and plates. This is a food experience that will stay ingrained in my head.
I hosted my 40th birthday at The Easterly while a group of us was visiting St. Thomas. The service was so good. The waiter did an amazing job catering to our group of 12. The seafood was so fresh and delicious. The tomahawk was seasoned and cooked to perfection! I even got to do a birthday shot with the bartender as it was his birthday too!
The food: Really good The ambiance: Good vibes with good music The service: on top of it and very attentive The staff: De'Janae was great! Beautiful personality, very welcoming, attentive, helpful and made some great recommendations The location: Parking is a challenge in the area. We drove and I spent almost 25 minutes circling the area for avail parking. The surprise: 4% convenience fee which is not explained or stated. The gratuity of 20% added to a party of 4 (although for service received this time-no complaints) other than wanting to inform others The Easterly was good and glad we tried it. Even thought it took forever to find parking. The restaurant has an immediate good vibe with music playing, the view out to the bay with boats in the background, and modern flair. You are immediately attended to by staff and your waitress. De'Janae was a sweetheart - Such a warm, friendly, and helpful waitress. Now, let's talk food. For a small plate the tuna crudo was delicious. The spreads and breads with the beet hummus and feta spread was a well balanced appetizer of bread and spread before the meal with a drink in hand. I found myself dipping into the beet hummus more than the feta. The only thing i did not like was the Vessup alcoholic drink. It lacked flavor and any taste of the tequila I had upgraded. My wife loved her seafood risotto (i didn't like the truffle oil), the kids loved the shrimp tostadas and the added on lobster tail. The snapper on special was good; however, way too many bones. Having to be really careful and pick the bones out takes the joy out of eating such a good fish (too much work). Would choose something else All in all, good and would come again to try different things on the menu. It's a little pricey though. For a family of four it was $$$$ which translates to about 400 for us.
We had our last dinner in St Thomas at Easterly and it was the perfect last dinner. The food, the ambiance and the service everything was 10/10. Our host Kiki was so sweet and professional. My fiancée is vegetarian and the only vegetarian dish wasn't available, Kiki suggested an alternative that wasn't on the menu "Cauliflower steak" and the dish was delicious even the non vegetarian tried it and loved it. Highly recommended to try the steak, the portion is big enough for 2 at least. At the end, we were offered home made coconut macaroons for to go, we tried them later and they are very well made. Can't wait to be back!
Service was amazing. Heather went above and beyond to make our evening fantastic. She was knowledgeable of the dishes and always able and capable of delivering great service. The ambiance is lovely. There are a lot of fans. It gets annoying sometimes and a little windy. It sounds silly but it was very noticeable. It didn't distract from the dining but we did take note. The dishes and cups are some type of pottery. They were awkward and heavy. They are cool to look at but not very functional. They belong in a museum. The food is good and of very high quality. The apps really stole the show. The avocado flatbread is bursting with flavor and the spreads were incredible with the homemade focaccia. Ridiculously good. The entrees however even with their incredible high quality wahoo and chicken lacked pop and flavor. They both seemed bland and missing that punch of flavor I would expect at a high end establishment. Maybe they dialed it down to accentuate the flavor of the meat but they fell a little flat. Desert was fine, chocolate cake with some vanilla ice cream. But the coffee. The coffee is served again in an awkward pottery cup. It's also sold by the cup. It's good local coffee, but a per cup price seemed extreme. They also served it with full cream which curdled in the coffee and was just a bit unpleasant. Not unexpected, but for high end coffee at that price and per cup it was just ok. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and experience
The ambiance at The Easterly is absolutely beautiful--tropical, breezy, and thoughtfully designed with island vibes that instantly set the mood for a relaxing evening. We stopped by specifically for their oyster happy hour and were really pleased with the dozen Rockefeller--fresh, flavorful, and a great value during the special. The complimentary bread they brought out was unexpectedly amazing--warm, soft, and addictively good. Drinks were decent, nothing over-the-top, but they paired well with the setting. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and I'd definitely consider coming back for dinner next time to explore more of the menu.
This was probably our favorite meal of the trip; however, for the price point, there were some hiccups that should not have happened. When checking online for availability, it looked like they were completely booked and we were happy we were able to snag a reservation; yet, when we got there, there was noone there but us. We were greeted by a friendly host who recommended we did not sit close to the outside as there was nothing they could do about the mosquitos. Our server was equally friendly and eager to answer any of our questions. We quickly decided on what to eat and then the wait began. Some fight broke out outside and all the staff ran out - they were all gone for about 10 minutes and I was (impatiently) waiting for my drink and the brussel sprouts we had ordered as an app. By the time they were back, our food came out. At that point, we had zero interest in the drink or the brussel sprouts - of which we advised our server. He said the drink would be comped so I agreed to try it. Unfortunately, the drink tasted quite watered down and wasn't impressive. But then he brought out the brussel sprouts anyway and we were charged for them. The brussel sprouts were okay, but I've had better. Onto our entrees now. My friend got the roasted chicken and it was quite tasty. I got the wahoo cooked as recommended by the server and it was a bit undercooked for my taste. I ate the outside of the fish which was good and smokey, but left most of the middle on the plate. We decided not to even bother with dessert. Overall, not the worst experience I've had, but somewhat upsetting at that price point. Note that they charge an automatic 20% tip.
I was so excited to come here but was let down over and over again. We made reservations and came a little early. The hostess took forever to seat us and once she finally did the waiter took forever to take our order. We ended up getting two glasses of Prosecco and ceviche to start, but that was the end of it. They literally took one hour to get the ceviche out to us and never once came back to ask if we would like another drink. So once the ceviche came we were like wth is this? It looked like seafood salad and wasn't good at all. So after that debacle we decided to make plans to eat dinner somewhere else. After we ate I paid the waiter and he never brought my change back and I had to walk up there after about 15 minutes and say, "Where is my change?" He was like, "Oh, sorry I forgot." SMH! This place has a great vibe but the service is terrible. I highly doubt that we will come back here the next time we are on the island. I am only giving it two stars because of the location and atmosphere, everything else sucked! I do not recommend!
The food at the Easterly was excellent. My husband had the Seafood Risotto and I had the Pork Chop w Hoisin sauce. Both were delicious. Our Server's name is Kiki and she was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu. She truly made our experience there memorable. The ambiance we very romantic, we were seated close to the water so that added to the atmosphere.

We were staying close to Coki point and there are few good nice restaurants in the area. We sat at the bar and our bartender Chatrine (I hope I remember right) was great. Food and cocktails were delicious! I definitely recommend trying out this place! read more

This is hand's down the best restaurant in Red Hook or even on St. Thomas! The menu is a bit pricey, but you can tell a lot of time and quality goes into each meal! The service is to notch and the drinks are amazing. They cater to any food allergies/preferred you have. "Oyster Happy Hour" was really great. HH was $9 Craft Cocktails, $9 Frozen Craft Cocktails, $1 Off Local Beer, 1⁄2 Wine Bottles. We started off with the Grilled Oysters (since they sold out of the Fried Oysters) they were delicious! Guajilo garlic butter & herbed panko! Highly recommend. I would also highly recommend the Octopus (hot plate). The octopus is grilled and baked, crispy, with romesco (Spanish tomato sauce), carrot, and top with salsa verde. We decided to get the Tomahawk "surf and turf"!!! It was the best steak I have ever had. It was topped with lobster and bacon and came with side salad and potatoes. This was a huge steak - definitely shareable. The ambiance and decor is amazing and the restrooms are clean and well kept. I would highly recommend this restaurant, if you are looking to go to Red Hook! read more

I work in restaurant operations and am giving this review from that vantage point. This is one of the absolute worst dining experiences that I have ever encountered. Perhaps this is a good establishment under different circumstances, perhaps they had an "off"night, but based on my experience, it was reprehensible to the point that it was offensive. After we told the taxi driver where we were headed he replied with obvious hesitation. When we probed a little bit he said the night before he had two separate customers who were not happy with their experience. One in particular had ordered an 80$ steak that arrived to the table cold. He said there were other good restaurants close by. We should have listened to him. I'll lead with points that are commendable. The server approached the table and informed us that: 1.) none of the drinks from the craft cocktails section would be made bc the bar was short staffed. 2.) there were (2) dishes on the menu that were no longer in stock. Fine. We ordered. My sister who doesn't drink alcohol asked for a drink; the response, "that counts as a craft cocktail and we won't be doing that tonight." Fine. My father ordered a (not craft) cocktail and the server replied, "that will also count as a craft cocktail." I initially ordered a glass of wine. My parents continued to look at the menu, since neither of them could have the drinks they wanted. I asked to cancel my glass and replace it with a bottle instead. I was told my glass of wine, which had not arrived and wouldn't for another few minutes, was already made and couldn't be cancelled. I said, "fine. Can we do this bottle as well." "Unfortunately, we're out of that bottle this evening." We ordered our food. The server then returned to inform us they were also out of two of the four items that we ordered. He handed us the menu and said: "Here's the menu, let me know what you would like instead." What I wanted was a dining experience commensurate with the outrageous amount of money we spent to dine at this overrated and offensively underwhelming establishment. Unfortunately, they were out of that this evening as well. At this point, the only thing that was on the table was one glass of wine, one ginger beer and the salad we ordered. When we were informed they were out of half of the things we ordered, I said, "look, can you just give us a check for this stuff, we'll go next door." "Im sorry, we cant-- I've already put in the rest of your order so they've begun prepping it." When describing the menu, the server described it as tapas style to be shared. The salad arrived. It was spring mix with 4 pieces of tangerines. It would be an appropriate amuse bouche for 1, it was not something that should be shared. I work in Manhattan and am familiar with small portions for expensive fees and price gouging. The "rack of lamb" was 60$. When it arrived, there were two lollipops. (Picture included to verify) That IS NOT what 'rack of lamb' refers to and they should be ashamed of describing it as such. This isn't really the establishment's fault, but we were a table of 4 adults. We were sat in the front of the restaurant, our table between two larger ones. About 15 mins after we were sat, two parties of young, rambunctious, loud children were sat on either side of us. I asked the host and manager to please move us. They said, "the only thing we can offer you is the bar." The bar was adjacent to the louder of the two families. It would have been exactly the same thing as the table we were already sat at. What I want to stress with this review more than anything else is the underlying attitude from the entire establishment. I understand- probably better than most- that staff shortages, inventory supply issues, etc happen and sometimes you need to adjust on the fly. But the fact that nothing, NOTHING, was done or offered for the purpose of guest recovery is arrogant and unprofessional, indicative of a poorly run business that leaves the impression that you as a customer are on an island, passing through on vacation and thus a good mark able to be turned for a quick buck. I've been in these positions before. I would bring a round of drinks, a dessert, something to show the guest that I at least acknowledged the presence of a problem, anything to maybe get them back to my side. That didn't happen. But what's worse is that there was never even an apology, which costs nothing. It's disappointing, because most of the dishes were actually quite good. However the experience was deplorable. There are three restaurants (Pesce, Agave, Raw) nearby. We ate at two of them and had wonderful food + experiences. I would recommend them and avoid this place. read more

Possibly one of the best seafood dining experiences ever! Everything from the decor, down to the food presentation was done thoughtfully and tastefully. Needless to mention the super friendly staff! You really would be missing out by not experiencing the Easterly. :) read more

This restaurant has the best ambience that I have seen in a very long time. It's technically all outdoors, and the walls are made of oyster shells. The decor is beautiful, and the food is delicious. I have the special appetizer which was smoked tuna fritters, and then I had the yellow fin tuna main course. read more
It was extremely hard to get a reservation here. We tried to walk in and waited an hour and 1/2. There was some lapse of communication and tension between the hostess which was very clear to the point that another hostess nearly have away a table we had been waiting for 1 hour and 1/2. I had to step in and let them know we have been waiting for that table. The food was delicious. A little overprice for the position size. read more

I always struggle to find excellent dining outside of the resorts when traveling to tropical places. The Easterly did not disappoint. I loved the ambiance and decor of the restaurant. The menu isn't broad, and it is expensive, however both of these things are to be expected when traveling to smaller tropical islands. Our service was average, but the food was good. My best recommendation is to make a reservation ahead of time, and order sea food. read more

Wow. My husband and I are speechless after our fantastic dining experience at The Easterly. The food, ambiance, and service definitely live up to the multitude of positive reviews this restaurant has. First the ambiance. The whole restaurant is "outdoors," but covered, private, and has plenty of cool air blown by their many ceiling fans. It is well decorated and their bistro lighting makes it warm and cozy. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will say it's a bit "slow," in a sense that no one was at the hostess podium when we got there, and it took awhile for our waitress to come by to greet us-- but they were friendly and acknowledged each wait, therefore wasn't an issue at all. The food. The food is top notch. This was one of the best restaurants we've ever been to. We started with the raw oysters. They had Wellfleet and Beach Plum oysters from MA. Absolutely delicious. Their mignonette sauce was a perfect sauce for the oysters. We also enjoyed the "chef dressed" oysters. Tonight's dressed oysters had mango slices, some citrus juice, and a spicy sauce. It was so good. A perfect mesh of sweet, spicy, and sour. We then enjoyed the mussels and vegetable ceviche. Both were fantastic. The mussels came in a red broth, with delicious chunks of tomatoes, tomatillos, and onions. This was an extremely generous portion. Cooked perfectly, not dry or overcooked. The vegetable ceviche was by far my favorite. It was a take on traditional ceviche, except with vegetables like avocado, beets, corn, onion, and grapefruit. The best part was the addition of "popped rice" which added a perfect crunchy texture. Next we had the crispy bussels sprouts and the boat catch of the day, which was wahoo cooked medium rare with jasmine rice in a curry sauce and small Asian salad with chili oil. The Brussels were perfectly crispy and salted. The wahoo was delicious and the curry sauce was light but flavorful, and went very well with the jasmine rice and salad. Finally, we enjoyed the chocolate lilikoi, a chocolate brownie infused with passion fruit flavors. The fruity flavors were a little strong, but the warm oozy chocolate brownie was outstanding. Overall great dessert. They had run out of the pot de cream, which I would have loved to try. Last but not least, the drinks! We enjoyed the She Draggin' was the absolute best! It's a deep fuschia drink with dragonfruit infused vodka, lemon, honey, among other ingredients. We could have had plenty more of that drink if we weren't so full by the end of dinner! We also had the Blood Line drink, which is more on the bitter side, but also delicious. Overall, outstanding dining experience. We would recommend this place to everyone. Also, there are reviews staying the portion sizes are too small. I disagree. The portion sizes were perfect for sharing between myself and my husband. The portions and prices are fair, considering the quality and freshness of the ingredients. read more

Really great food. Best meal we had in Saint Thomas for the 8 days were were there. We came back a second time in our week long stay because the food was so good and service so great. HIGHLY recommend. read more

A-MA-ZING. After spending a week in USVI , I'm sure the Easterly has the best food and decor on the island - especially on St. Thomas. Put down that reservation for dinner now! Here's what we got: - Ahi Crudo ($19) - Recommended by our server as one of their most popular cold dish appetizers. We loved it! It's such an easy appetizer to share and if you like sushi/poke, this would be perfect for you. - Picanha ($38) - This was my main dish. I loved the dish. The flavors and textures of the dish were so complex. I've never had mashed yuca before, but if you can think of it as like a firmer mashed potato that you can break apart with the side of your fork. - Wahoo (Catch of the Day/MP) - So good! The wahoo was prepared rare (seared on the outside, but rare on the inside; similar to a steak). I had wahoo at other restaurants in St. John, but this was so much better. - Carribean Napoleon ($12) - Another popular dish that was recommended to us by our server. It's a puff pastry and ice cream - hard to go wrong with that! read more

On my visit to the US Virgin Islands, this was hands down the best dinner I had. Reservations are highly recommended with COVID times- lots of people were turned away without one. Earlier dinner times are also a good thought as they do sell out of certain dishes. The food here is eaten with your eyes and your mouth. The atmosphere is romantic and comfortable. The options are numerous and we quickly learned you couldn't pick a bad dish. This was our favorite spot and I can't wait to go back. read more

Love this place! It never disappoints! We've been here 4 times. Brunch, Lunch and dinner twice Food is fresh & the brunch is fabulous. Octopus is hot off the grill! Caribbean Lobster is pretty tasty Highly Recommend making reservations! With COVID seating is more limited but this place is worth the wait! read more
We had the best meal here on our vacay. We got dressed oysters, flank steak and a raw seafood dish. Also we got an endive salad which I have been trying to recreate since we got home. Amazing cocktails and cute ambiance. Only thing it was missing was an ocean view. Yum! Pricey but worth the splurge! read more

This restaurant is awesome. Food is great, beautiful space, and the staff were on top of their game. Tuna tartare, half chicken, and sticky ribs were all delicious. Kept wanting more. It's worth a stop and located right in Red Hook. It's a good idea to make reservations in advance. read more

Went for dinner while on vacation. The food was delicious, we had the ceviche it had great flavor, the pork belly ribs were so tender the meat was falling off the bone!! For our entree I had the hanger steak, it was perfect!! Juicy and just so tender it was amazing. My friend had the fire chicken he said it was good but a bit dry. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the drinks were just ok and a bit overpriced. But the food made up for it. Parking is hard to find, just skip trying to look for it and go all the way down to the ferry building and park there 3 hours for $8 read more

One of the best spots on the island for great food, drinks and ambiance. And they have amazing service. Kasandra was very attentive and made the experience even better, with her honest advice and prompt refill on water. The rib eye steak was otherworldly, with the perfect mix of herbs, churrasco sauce, and crimini mushrooms! Even better was the happy hour prices from 4-6 Pm, which had drinks for $8 and many fancy bar bites for only $8-14 ,for the quality it is the best bar deal in st Thomas ! read more

Amazing experience at The Easterly, courtesy of Kas our server. Excellent ambience, great location on the harbor. Some of the most unique menu items we found during our week on St Thomas, including the cocktails. We went family/tapas style with several small plates then did a couple entrees including the whole fried Snapper (which was delicious with some Chimichurri sauce). Since it was my birthday, my wife slipped away and tipped off Kas, who recommended the "baked banana and Maduro skillet" (also VERY delicious!) which arrived with a crackling sparkler Highly recommend checking this place out! read more

First, make a reservation, then go to Easterly and enjoy world class food and creative craft cocktails. We didn't have a reservation, we waited 2 hours for a table. It was well worth the wait. The atmosphere is a trendy west indie meets swank lounge feel. Great air circulation, no bug bites for us. Service was excellent, full staff, never an empty water bottle. Neighboring tables were feasting on 23 oz bone in TBone steaks, huge lobsters, and mussels. Since it was 945PM, we ordered the pork rib chop and smoked pumpkin soup. The portions are large. The pumpkin soup was yummy; had a uniques smoked flavor with spiced roasted pumpkin seeds and jerk spice, an explosion of flavors. The double cut pork chop was layered in a pineapple mango chutney with scotch bonnet chili that was quite good. St. Thomas does not have much traditional island spiced foods, but Easterly well represented. The cocktails were creative and delicious. We had the She Dragon and Blood Line. I highly recommend Easterly in Red Hook. read more
