While staying at the Wyndham Limetree Resort, we stopped by the soft opening for the newest location of the Longboard known for great meals on St.John. The signage still says Lanai and there was only outdoor seating as they prepare their inside dining room so things are still being worked out but the service was top notch. The sunset view from their bar was really wonderful and the bartenders were fabulous and helpful. You can sit on a little outside beach area to enjoy your frosty bevs or an outside chair rail or plunk yourself down at the tastefully decorated bar. We tried their resposido tequila with jalapeño margarita and the mule and both were really refreshing. We switched to a high top in the outside dining area for dinner. The calamari app was delicately fried and the rings were absolutely tender and delicious. The sauce was just the right heat without overpowering the calamari. One thing you will notice on the dinner menu is that many dishes do not have a side and there are no side options. It would have been great to have a small reasonably priced green salad or veggie rather than ordering the brussels or gigantic dinner salad to accompany our Sushi Wrap entrees. The Sushi Wraps (we tried their Fried Shrimp/Tuna wrap and a Salmon Mango) are very big but, sadly, mostly rice. It would really match the price point to double the protein in each wrap piece so you actually get a nice piece of shrimp or salmon in each bite. The flavors were very good but lacking enough shrimp or salmon. The brussels small plate was a smidgeon on the sweet side and well roasted and flavorful. The tables next to us ordered the dinner salads and the ladies enjoyed them! We shared a bottle of Chilean white wine that went perfectly with our wraps. The atmosphere is really laid back and the decor beautiful. Definitely check it out for a late lunch or dinner for some tasty fresh food and excellent service.

Mixed bag but overall a good experience. Our food was all good, hoisin ribs were great and Brussels were flavored well but slightly burnt. They were out of chicken wings which was disappointing. We subbed wings for a fish taco which was just ok. The fries were good, and all drinks good. Service was pretty slow with a longer than quoted wait time followed by a 15-20 min wait for drinks after we ordered them. The servers were overwhelmed and trying hard to keep up. Honestly the biggest negative for me was the seating! I am 5'2 and every table was a high top. Would we come back? Sure.

Love the STJ Longboard, so when they said they were opening on STT I had to visit. What a gorgeous property and bar. Food is wonderful. I went with the Trio app to start. Nice Island spin on classic dips. Will def be back.

Shrimp Fried Rice - So good!

There are some dastardly reviews of this restaurant out there. In all honesty, we had the best experience on the Island at The Longboard. First - the atmosphere is perfect. The view is pristine. Second - the staff was amazing. Our host was wonderful and patient as she was training a new host. He was so nice and eager to please. He took some great family photos for us! Third - the food! We started with the trio, soda, and house Sauvignon Blanc and a local beer. All of our entrees were amazing. My youngest ordered the sticky ribs and loved them. My middle had an Aloha Bowl and enjoyed. My oldest raved about the Taco Bowl. My wife really enjoyed the watermelon salad. And the shrimp fried rice was truly to die for! The shrimp in three of our meals really stood out as being spectacular. Maybe we hit the night right... or maybe this place has truly hit its' stride! Thanks for a great night!

A trip to the island with family and friends is incomplete without a visit to Longboard. Somehow, we managed to secure a perfect table and were fortunate enough to have Korena as our host for the evening. A closing tray of painkiller shots to complete our meal perfectly.

Best food. Tacos and bowls excellent. Beautiful bar with a gorgeous view of the ocean and islands. Thank you Krystal for the best service!

    Beach outside the restaurant.

We were there after lunch hour, it was Happy Hour after 2:00 pm. Great prices on food and drinks . The food was amazing the drinks were cold! John was an absolute amazing server! The restaurant was quiet and comfortable. It is near a resort and was a quiet excluded location.

The food was phenomenal and the service was even better!! Mary, Ray, and Krystal made our experience TOP NOTCH. I would 100% recommend the sticky ribs and the brussels sprouts Although everything was amazing on the menu, we tried a little bit of everything. If they have the bushwhacker drink the night you're dining I definitely recommend that along with the "must have" painkiller. There is amazing food all over the island, but the staff members here at the long board really went the extra mile to make sure every meal we had there was amazing along with amazing service! We had atleast 4 meals there during the week on the island. Give it a shot and definitely request Ray or Mary as servers!

Whole fried fish. Option to have it grilled. Delicious!!!

Excellent choice for dinner with a view. Great drink selection and friendly service. We had the trio for starters: chips with queso blanco, guacamole, and pico. Queso was excellent, guacamole was on the good side of okay (too much lime) and we didn't like the pico- it was fruit forward and too sweet. My husband loves whole fried fish and said this was one of the best he's ever had. Fish tacos were good, fries were amazing. My son enjoyed their mash burger and said the sauce was really something special. The only bummer was that they don't offer dessert. Ambiance is worth the experience alone and the food being good was just the icing on the cake.

Great open space with absolutely gorgeous views of the water. Our server Mickal was wonderful and took our drink orders promptly. One person in our party did order the guacamole and plantain chips which were very good. Solely based on specialty cocktails this review is mainly about our drink service and selections which supposedly the "must have" here and most popular is their Root Beer Float that is served with a light rum, vanilla rum, coconut cream, and St. John root beer! This is an island delight and delicious to slowly sip on while taking in the amazing scenery. This is a beautiful location where they offer breakfast, lunch & dinner. Looks like a nice array of foods and would be fantastic to revisit for that aspect another time.

Exactly what you picture when thinking of a perfect Caribbean restaurant by the water. We were greeted right away and sat at a beautiful table looking out at the ocean. Bench seating was comfortable and instantly relaxing. We did have to wait a bit for our server to come by, but it was busy and we weren't in a hurry. We decided on a painkiller and beer. We were hungry after being on the beach all morning and decided on the Cobb, fish sandwich, and wings. The food was delicious!! The salad was exactly what I wanted and the wings were spicy and super flavorful. Prices were pricey- but it was such a beautiful place and the food was amazing that it was totally worth it and I would definitely visit again.

Not a super hopping area and on a street vs. the beach or anything fancy like that. We saw a chicken or two wandering around also. But the staff and food were great, so that made up for the location not being the best. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was super nice and helpful about which drinks might be good for us when we told him what flavors we were feeling. I had my first of many Island Summer Ale beers here (brewed in St. John). Served very crisp and cold in a frosty bottle. For food, I had the fish tacos (when in Rome - or on an island, in this case), along with tater tots. The tacos were tasty, with fried fish, lettuce, and a cheesy sauce on top. My friend had tacos too, but picked the beef protein, and chose the beans as her side. Her's also looked delish, so I would try those if I ever make it back that way. As we left (after dark), the bartender did us another favor. We almost got in the wrong car, thinking it was our taxi, and he ran out and grabbed us and said that was not a taxi at all! I'm not positive it would have been dangerous to get in the car, but it definitely felt like he saved us. If you're staying in the Havensight area of St. Thomas, and don't mind a sports bar style atmosphere vs. beachy vibe, then I would recommend checking out out Dog House Pub for the tacos and beer!

What made that even more frustrating is that we were the *first* guests in the restaurant that evening, so it's not like they sold out. It simply wasn't there. We ordered the seafood platter instead. The ceviche was overwhelmingly filled with canned pineapple--seriously? That was the main flavor- only flavor. Then came a couple of shrimp... after waiting 45 minutes. And this was cold seafood. With the grouper off the table, we tried the oxtail. One of the four pieces was *just* a bone--the size of the side of my pinky (I have photos). I bit into it thinking it was part of a plantain chip, and it hurt my teeth. A serious oversight from the kitchen. Again- covered in pineapple... why???...obsession? To top it off, nearly everything we ordered tasted the same. The corn side dish, for example, seemed to just have oxtail grease poured over it (we took it home- and sure enough solidified). No real flavor variation. For a menu that reads well, the execution was a letdown. I'm a former fine dining chef and restaurateur. To walk away hungry--after spending almost $400--is unacceptable. We live here, and as my husband said: we're not coming back. That's not good news for any place hoping to build loyalty in the local community. The drain fly issue made an already disappointing experience even worse. Please, address this properly--those were clearly drain flies, and having them land on our food and faces during Christmas dinner was honestly disgusting. Placing traps inside the ceiling lights so guests sit directly beneath hundreds of dead flies? Unacceptable. You're a Buoy restaurant--hire a proper pest control service and get this taken care of. It got to the point where my husband was wiping flies off my face every 15 seconds - nothing like giving chistmas love language and flies in your hair. We almost walked out.
