    OJ and Mimosa ($17 mimosa!)
    Jewel M.

Salt shack is a sexy beachfront restaurant located in the Marriott's Morningstar Buoy Haus Beach resort..stopped in for breakfast and a waterfront view of course!!..what's the point in dining out while on an island if there is no oceanview, that would be pointless..! Got the 340 Burrito and it hit! Beverages were OJ and a $17 Mimosa (resort prices).. Getting here is a bit tricky if you are not a guest at the resort. You'll need to either park in one of the garages to your right when you first enter ( avoid designated parking spots of course) Then have the security attendant near garage entrance call you a shuttle van to take you to the Buoy Haus main bldg., from there one of the valet attendants will take you to the restaurant in a golf cart. OR you can park in valet section at Bouy Haus main bldg and have a valet driver drop you off in a golf cart..yeh, it's a little process getting there but well worth it. Kudos to the security attendant on shift that day that assisted me in getting to the restaurant! She is Such a gem! The food is great, views are amazing and the service is friendly. I suggest going for a stroll on the beach after! Lovely spot!

Ate here a few times for breakfast on our vacation. Food was great, everything fresh. and servers were attentive and very nice. The views of the ocean are so peaceful in the morning. Definitely would come back.

If you're staying at the Westin the salt shack is a must try! Beautiful view of the beach and great food. The Mahi sandwich is amazing! Also, the mango avocado guacamole!

This is a very nice beachside restaurant. It's located at the Morningstar Beach next to the Westin Beach Resort and Spa, so expect higher prices for pub-grub food options and drinks. However, it's a newly renovated space, at a beautiful location, and the food and service are great. The decor is very tastefully done, and ambiance at night is outstanding. The food is nicely prepared and our dishes were delicious. They also had some great cocktail options. I'd highly recommend the Cold Fashioned, which is a rum old fashioned with coffee liqueur, including Ron Zacapa, which is widely considered the best rum in the world. Service was very pleasant and not as slow as many other places we visited on the island. But it should be noted that the Westin was not open at the time, so the place was not very crowded. Glad to see this spot is back open for business after being closed for a while after the hurricanes a few years ago!

Chocolate Mouse Cake and Crème Brûlée

We didn't come here for dinner, we came here just for dessert. It was my daughter's birthday and we needed somewhere to get her a slice of cake and sing. The staff was very nice and had 3 team members come sing to her. The dessert there are also very good.. I'm a chocolate lover so I was pleased. We ordered all three, passion fruit mouse cake, crème brûlée, and chocolate mouse cake. My husband ordered a drink and loved it. The ambience is perfect... it's right on the beach and is decorated beautifully. I just can not comment on the food.

Short rib sliders were not short ribs but oxtail The menu was incorrect. They were full of gristle and cartilage inedible. My husband s fish tacos were good but 2 small sliders for 24$ should be excellent. Looks like restaurant is mostly for drinkers

    Passion fruit crème brûlée

Yummy food. Don't miss the passion fruit crème brûlée. It's definitely worth the 94 steps down to the beach to dine in this ocean front restaurant. Ambience is wonderful listening to the sound of the waves crashing. The service was exceptional as well.

We were immediately and graciously greeted by our hostess/server/bartender all-in-one Tiffany. She had the most charismatic personality and smile. I loved her energy! She explained the menu to us first timers and she even brought us complimentary drinks to try! The menu basically featured an array of proteins (chicken, shrimp, wings, salmon, etc) and sauces (jerk, creole, teriyaki, and the special shama sauce) you can pair it with. Sadly they no longer serve curry goat and they were out of oxtail the day we went. Each order also comes with choice of 2 sides. I ordered the jerk salmon with side of rice and peas and plantains. My salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I loved the slightly peppery spice from the jerk seasoning. The plantains were delicious. The rice was a little dry for my taste but went well with my salmon. My fiancé got the wings in shama sauce and this was SO GOOD. Would recommend. He also got a massive portion order of macaroni and cheese. They definitely make sure you don't leave hungry here. My friend got the shrimp and it was nicely seasoned as well. Prices were very reasonable for the portion. Everything was so plentiful! I had enough leftovers for a second meal. The only reason I can't give this 5 stars is the ambiance. The decor is very bare bone and feels like much more of a take out place than somewhere you would go for a nice lunch. There's also two TVs and they blast the sound here which can be very distracting when your group is trying to have a conversation. The bathroom could also use some TLC. Otherwise, the service and food was definitely a 5 stars experience for me. Would gladly return next time I'm in Saint Thomas!

We had the Rasta pasta, rice with pigeon peas, mixed veg and plantains on our first stop here. Jerk chicken was extremely tender and the sauce was the perfect amount of spice. The food did feel a little oily/fatty but we still mopped up our plates! They were out of baked Mac but certainly hope we can try it on the future, yum. Decent sized portions but everything was delicious and we wanted more! Prices are reasonable and match the portion sizes.

I ordered the Coco Berry Cream ($12.37) which was slightly sweet and refreshing with berry and coconut flavors. I also got three tacos ($19.59) served with tomato, onion, jalapenos, and cheese. The tacos were flavorful and the ingredients tasted fresh, especially with their house salsa on the side. I also grabbed a bottle of water ($3.09). One thing to note is that 18% gratuity is automatically added to all checks, which is common on the island. Also the billl is slightly less if pay by cash. They also had some interesting specials posted like two pork belly tacos with rice and beans for $22, and margaritas like a Spicy Pomegranate Lunazul Margarita ($15) and Orange Cranberry Margarita ($13). Overall, the food was tasty, the atmosphere was fun, and the service was smooth.
