Lime in the coconut frozen drink.
    Greg M.

Great made to order Caribbean treats in the heart of the Charlotte Amalie shopping district. What we loved: * great service. We were informed that there might be a wait because of a large party. The timing was still comparable to other locations on the island. * fabulous drink options. I had the lime in the coconut frozen drink - served in a cool tilted glass! * tasty pineapple fried rice. * best plantains we had all week.

Food was delicious and service top notch. Had coconut encrusted mahi over pineapple bacon fried rice: WOW! Yum! Best banana daiquiri I had on the island too. The A/C was a plus on a super humid day!

We had a party of 16 which is always a challenge, our waitress a shorter lady and her helper made sure to keep the drinks coming. The food was really good, there was a long delay on one of the lobster fritters we had ordered but when they arrived they were excellent. Our table had many dishes I had the coconut crusted shrimp entree which was excellent. My kids had fettuccine and meatballs and chicken tenders they liked them. Overall the experience was good. Understand there is no parking on this street so you are forced to park on one of the side streets which can be a challenge. I gave the restaurant 4 stars because of the dirty bathroom. If you have red my reviews in the past bathrooms are a very important aspect of the overall experience.

Our go-to lunch spot every time we are in St. Thomas! A true off the beaten path gem in this tourist rich area..... the Rum-glazed shrimp with rice and plantains is the best anywhere! Everything here is good- try it once and you will be back!

We were pleasantly surprised when we showed up at a restaurant where all of the cruise ships dock and found a meal worthy to be documented. A recent pair of retirees from the Chicago area decided to retire down here and leave their legacy to a child or children. We were served by a daughter of said retired couple and were not expecting much. When she gave us her recommendations we went for all of the offering she listed. The fried rice with pineapple was perfect as well as the steak tacos. My wife loved her ceviche as well. Nice presentation with plantain chips. All of the food far exceeded our expectations and we remarked as much to the second generation of restauranteers. Prices were extremely reasonable for the quality of food received. One additional bonus was the speed at which the food came. In and out in under an hour. If you've spent any time in the Virgin Islands you'll appreciate how great that is.

My wife and I were in Charlotte Amalie on vacation, doing some shopping, and decided to cool off and have some drinks. We stumbled on Stone House, and decided to try it out. The staff were extremely welcoming and patient as we asked about some of their cocktails. The atmosphere was laid back, as most island bars are. We decided to try their Painkiller, Rum punch and Pina Colada. They were great! The wife thought it was the best Pina Colada she'd ever had. The prices were good, especially compared to the cruise ship or the port. We plan on going there again and trying some food and definitely getting some drinks.

So happy to have found this place to eat, relax and have a nice glass of Blanton's while visiting St Thomas this day. A family team own and run the establishment which they purchased in May 2023. Extensive bar selection including more than a dozen bourbons. Two pages of the 6 page menu are dedicated to beverages both alcohol and non alcohol selections, beer and wine. The fish tacos were amazing, big filet of grouper in each on with a spicy aioli and slaw. Yum! So moist and so flavorful. The daughter makes all the deserts, on this day the selection left was butter pecan cake and cheesecake. Wishing them all good luck with their restaurant venture!

Oreo cake - so save room for dessert here ! Homemade by owners' daughter.

The fish tacos were excellent. Not greasy or overly breaded--just melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

The tacos were flavorful and the ingredients tasted fresh, especially with their house salsa on the side. I also grabbed a bottle of water ($3.09). One thing to note is that 18% gratuity is automatically added to all checks, which is common on the island. Also the billl is slightly less if pay by cash. Came out missing the most important ingredient and then when it was sent back, I can not describe what they did to it. If you can NOT make it just tell me. We were pissed for they ruined one of our entrees the night before due to staff not paying attention. This nailed the coffin. Slow season is coming and it's a shame there is no kitchen discipline. The manager said "I have other customers". Well, you lost these 20 year patrons of Chefs food. We spend well over $1500 a month. Good luck in slow season with that attitude.

Not a super hopping area and on a street vs. the beach or anything fancy like that. We saw a chicken or two wandering around also. But the staff and food were great, so that made up for the location not being the best. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was super nice and helpful about which drinks might be good for us when we told him what flavors we were feeling. I had my first of many Island Summer Ale beers here (brewed in St. John). Served very crisp and cold in a frosty bottle. For food, I had the fish tacos (when in Rome - or on an island, in this case), along with tater tots. The tacos were tasty, with fried fish, lettuce, and a cheesy sauce on top. My friend had tacos too, but picked the beef protein, and chose the beans as her side. Her's also looked delish, so I would try those if I ever make it back that way. As we left (after dark), the bartender did us another favor. We almost got in the wrong car, thinking it was our taxi, and he ran out and grabbed us and said that was not a taxi at all! I'm not positive it would have been dangerous to get in the car, but it definitely felt like he saved us. If you're staying in the Havensight area of St. Thomas, and don't mind a sports bar style atmosphere vs. beachy vibe, then I would recommend checking out out Dog House Pub for the tacos and beer!

You walk through a jewelry store to get to a small restaurant that combines Virgin Islands Ice Cream shop with Calypso Cafe. Most of the seats were taken, and all we saw was a line to place your order at the front. My husband waited in line while I found a table that hadn't been cleaned yet. It was very busy there. He ordered us 2 brownies and 2 bottles of water for $16. The lady at the counter gave herself a tip by taking $3 of the change and giving him back $1. He was going to give her all the change ($4) back, but after that incident he was floored. To add insult to injury, she didn't give us what we paid for. She proceeded to help the next person in line for an ice cream shake order. We waited and waited and no one acknowledged us after trying to flag someone down. We finally got the attention of a different lady who was helping people who were seated in the back. I think her name is Cameron. She didn't fully understand our frustration, and we had to explain that we didn't get the items that we had already paid for. She made it all right, and even offered to warm up the brownies. We just didn't feel like waiting longer for it. I'm giving benefit of the doubt here since maybe we just didn't understand the ordering system. Maybe there's a service charge that we didn't know about. How could we? We didn't even get a receipt. Perhaps there's another line for Calypso Cafe? I don't know. Honestly, the lady at the counter should have informed Cameron before proceeding on to the next customer. It only takes 2 seconds. I mean, really! Will we go back? Absolutely not! We'll go somewhere else the next time we're in Charlotte Amalie. It wasn't worth the long wait for 2 bakery items and water.
