I have mixed feelings as I review this place. On one hand, we had two excellent experiences. On the other, our last visit was quite bad that it's making me think about whether this place should be a 5-star or not. Based on food alone, this place merits nothing less than a 5-star. The services on the other hand were borderline. Ocean 180 is an upscale restaurant located in Point Pleasant resort. Husband was super excited to book the condo knowing that he would not have to drive around in search of a nice restaurant to bring me to for a couple of dinners during vacation. They have a brunch on Sundays which led us to our very first visit there. Nestled between tropical vegetation, the place screams peaceful dining experience and it was. We came right around the time they opened for brunch at 9am and we were immediately seated. Our view was perfect, a bit of the cool breeze and a mimosa were like icing on a cake. The waitress came by, took drink orders and told us there is another wait staff in training who will be assisting. He took over mostly after that. I ordered the pork belly which came with 2 fried eggs, crisp smashed potatoes and a simple salad. My husband had the tropical chopped salad served with creamy mango dressing. My pork belly was delicious, the potatoes were seasoned well and even the simple salad, was worth its own recognition. Yes, this place knows how to make great food! Minor mishap, the waiter in training was addressing my husband the whole time while I was trying to pay our bill and even brought my card back to my husband when it clearly has my name on it. Made me feel a bit weird as we're in 2025, not the 1950s. Okay. So, second visit was for dinner. I made reservations then got a call around 4pm to tell me that due to technical difficulties, they are only able to accept cash. Do I still want to keep my reservation? Yes. Fortunately, we carried some cash this vacation with the foresight of possibly needing them for local vendors and such. Again, we got in and seated quickly. Our waitress was fabulous and checked on us. My husband had the smoked old fashioned. It came in a contraption that was smoky. Very cool. I had a cocktail - the exotic tides which was gin, ginger, muddled cucumber and basil. I ordered the whole fish grilled and her butter basted with some ginger escabeche. Okay, this dish blew my mind. Also, I was really wanting to order a whole fish for one of my meals as I do not get to do this often anymore living in Midwest and I think I picked the best place who did this dish justice. My husband had the Morrocan braised lamb shank and he loved it! We ended our wonderful dinner with a chocolate creme brulee topped with toasted almond slivers. Absolutely delicious. We should have ended with this evening because it would not have tainted my perception. But, we came back in on our last evening. Sadly, our experience on the last night was like day and night. We made reservations as usual, got seated quickly but took a little while for our waiter to come and take our drink orders. We sat and sat and waited then he finally emerged and spoke about the special. We eventually ordered drinks. I got a glass of wine, my husband was quite tired so he asked if they had iced tea, waiter said no. It took about 20 minutes for a glass of wine and maybe another 15 for him to come back and take our orders. We were hungry, there was a heavy storm blowing in, we got wet because it was so windy and the little cover kept flapping to the point where it was letting water in, not to mention a leak on top of our table causing water to start dripping on my head. We ordered everything all at once from appetizer to our meal once the waiter remembered to come back. We got our appetizer another 30 minutes later while we miserably sat getting wet and getting cold. When we finally got our food, I wasn't in the greatest mood. I ordered another glass of wine which surprisingly came faster than the last time. It took a very long time for my husband to get a refill on his water. Only until another guy who was running around trying to bring food to the tables, when he noticed my husband's water glass was empty, he promptly came to refill. He wasn't our waiter. We didn't see much of our waiter. I am not needy and don't generally ask for too many things but making sure people have drinks while they eat is basic like breathing. Our food came out good but I already had a sour taste in my mouth due to the horrible service. For this visit, we started with the crudo, their fish on special that evening. It was delicious and we tried to enjoy and savor the flavor, as much as two starving people can. I had the local grouper with roasted PEI mussels. Again, delicious. We skipped dessert for fear that it would take another 30 minutes to get one and the experience had exhausted me at this point. read more

Best service on the island. Definitely a genuine upscale restaurant on the East End of ST. Service was great and they were attentive to water and wine refills. Servers knew the wine list well. While there were some mosquitos (it had just rained) they had bug spray available. There was a cat walking in the outdoor space and my kiddo was obsessed! The grounds are scenic and part of a resort. Several stairs for those that need to know. The restaurant had an awesome view, especially at sunset. The food was delish. The pasta was perfectly cooked, as well as the fish. Portions are generous. Appetizers were all very tasty and unique in their flavor profiles. This is a must try if you're on the island. I think it was the best food we ate on St. Thomas! read more

Had my last dinner in St. Thomas here. Decided to come here given its location (I'm staying at Point Pleasant Resort) and how late it was already. I thought the place was overall solid. I went on a Thursday night around 9pm and there were plenty of tables available. The staff/servers were friendly. I started off with the lobster Mac and cheese, which was pretty good. They could've been more generous with the lobster chunks but it was delicious, cheesy and macaroni was cooked well. My main entree was the whole roasted lobster, which was steamed and served with rice and asparagus. The lobster came out without any side of butter, which was kind of annoying but I asked for it and they brought it out right away. I thought the lobster was just okay--a bit on the drier side for my taste and also quite pricey. I have no problem with spending more on good quality food but felt like this wasn't worth the $60/lb pricing. I went there at night time so I couldn't really appreciate the views as well but I could imagine having an awesome view during the day tome as it was facing the water. If you're looking for a solid, good value lobster meal, this place probably isn't it. Though the lobster Mac and cheese is worth trying! But if you're staying at the Point Pleasant Resort (recommend staying there by the way) and want to eat somewhere convenient with a good view during the day, I would consider going here. read more

4.5/5 Definitely fine dining prices. Signature drinks were delicious. The service was great. The food was good. Highlights include the lobster Mac n cheese and grouper entree. Both dishes were deliciously rich. As stated above, the cocktails were very well crafted. Tuna entree and tropical chopped salad were good. Portions were great, but pricey for the quality. The restaurant was semi-open air. We sat in the "inside" portion. There is limited seating overlooking the excellent view. Was a quick walk from our rental on the same resort. First, I want to say the waiter was fantastic! However, on the drink menu, it states that happy hour is from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm. My husband and I order drinks at 5:00 pm and an additional drink at 5:45 pm (in the happy hour window according to the menu). When we get our check, our drinks are full price. We ask the waiter about the happy hour special and he looks at the check and says he will ask the manager. The waiter comes back and states that the manager says happy hour is ONLY at the bar. That was not specified on the drink menu. This information needs to be relayed to customers, because we would have sat at the bar if we had known. The food was great, but the issue about the happy hour felt very scam-like. read more

This restaurant was on the grounds of the resort my friends and I were staying at, and we wanted to treat ourselves to a fancy dinner during our vacation. How lucky were we! The restaurant is open-air, with beautiful views of the water. It was a slower night, so we were able to come in a bit before our reservation with no problem at all. We were greeted with an intimate setting and wonderful service, with our waiter happily giving us recommendations throughout the evening. The food was incredible. We started out with the lobster macaroni and cheese for the table, and the portion was perfect for the three of us to each have a taste. I got the sea bass and risotto for my main meal, and it was absolutely lovely. My friends got the seared tuna and the pork chop and loved their dishes as well. We finished out the night with their espresso crème brûlée, house made pineapple ice cream, and banana foster cheesecake. All were divine! Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. It was a rainy and windy night and we were seated outside. We were dressed up and the rain was pelting me so we asked for a different table, and they told us we would have to sit at a bar high top. Delicious high-end dining with kickass views! Great mocktails- try the no-jito! We got the lobster Mac, cauliflower app and local greens- all delicious for sharing! BF got the whole fried fish/ yellowtail snapper and we did the grilled avocado- all yummy! We split all the desert options: homemade ice cream, gelato, chocolate miso torte and coconut crème brule. We were staying at Point Pleasant Resort and ate at Ocean 180, and loved it. Manny was our bartender and server and he was very personable and friendly. The ambiance and view was incredible. We had a wedding rehearsal dinner. The food was great. Multiple of our party had the 1/2 chicken. It was cooked perfectly, spiced perfectly and with an amazing splash of gravy, which I would recommend more of! The wine list was effective. There is a custom drink list that's quite nice. The restaurant has all the liquor you would expect. The only gotcha was that our reservation was lost. For 10. But the staff really pulled it out of the hat for us and made it work. We appreciated that immensely. We'll try and eat there again before we go. I really enjoyed our meal there and would highly recommend Ocean 180. read more

My husband and I went here for our first "fancy" meal while on our honeymoon and it was amazing! We had the tuna appetizer, he had the chicken, and I had the filet and all were phenomenal. We walked in the restaurant on a 90 degree night expecting the restaurant to have some cooling appliances. Our four year old son gave us a hard time walking up the steep hill so both my husband and I were sweating profusely. The waitress took a quick glance at us and decided that we were not worthy of a fan (you have been warned there's no AC here) or a place facing the ocean (at least that would have given us some breeze). After being seated for a few minutes, my son was melting down complaining how uncomfortably hot it was. The waitress walked by rolling her eyes. We left without bothering trying anything except for a glass of water. If you dare to charge over 100 for a bottle of wine, I'd expect much better service and a cooler environment to enjoy sizzling hot food. read more

The best dinner I have had on St Thomas. Haven't been here since Covid, but on my return, had dinner at the Easterly, 3 Palms, Sunset Grill and each had hi-lights, none compared to Ocean180. The grilled Caesar salad was the best Caesar salad I have ever had. 2 of us had the Risotto, added lobster and it was the best meal ever. The risotto was perfectly seasoned, the seafood was fresh and delicious. I rarely finish my food, but I couldn't stop eating this. It was truly a delight. The view was amazing and the wait staff was perfect. It was truly worth the scary drive up and down the hill. read more

We stayed at point pleasant so had huh hopes for this place (the fine dining establishing on property). The bartenders were lovely but the service at tables was terrible.
