House special sazerac with a Caribbean twist!

Nice quality dining spot in Frenchtown with parking. What we loved: * Open on Saturday night, when some other local spots are closed. * No reservation required, seated right away. * Light Cajun theme menu with accompanying cocktails We enjoyed conch fritters to start; salmon and red snapper dishes for entrees; and beignets for dessert. Cooking was solid, service reliable. Overall a strong contender for something different in the area.

Came here my first day on the island since this was really one of the places at the top of my list. We were gonna dine in but decided to take the food to go and head down to Brewers beach. BUTTTTTT what I really came to say was get the conch fritters and not just one order you'll be mad!!! I ate at so many places while on the island..... but I couldn't get over the conch fritters they were just really that damn good!!! For entrees we both got the blackened snapper which came with rice and a corn salsa which was 10/10. The drinks are also made well had French75 and it hit the spot can't wait to go back, also the food reheats well!!!

Amazing food! Sat at the bar at lunch and it was slow but the place is pretty cool. The rest of the people seemed to be local which is a good sign in regards to the kitchen Will be back!

This restaurant was recommended from our time share. It is a cute quaint place which makes you feel like you are in NOLA. Nice decor, and the staff were great! We ordered the zucchini fries to start and I got the pasta and chicken dish. This was delicious! The zucchini fries were addicting! We ate them all! My chicken pasta dish was bursting with flavor! So good!! Justen also ordered the short rib with a cheesy grit. The short rib was very tender the grits had a little funk from the cheese. Still delicious! We were told that the restaurant is no longer acknowledging the free appetizer for staying at Wyndham. Our server also told us that their pay was cut..this was disheartening to hear. I hope the new owners change some of this practices. All in all a lovely experience!

Went to French Quarter Bistro for dinner tonight. Was just OK, not up to the hype in some of the reviews... we arrived early for our reservation, which was no problem, because the restaurant was mostly empty at the time. We were seated quickly and Vicki, our waitress, came by immediately and took drink orders, and provided information about the nightly specials. Service was good, attentive, but not intrusive. We ordered a gin martini and escargot as an appetizer. The cocktail was good, the escargot not so much. The escargot was presented in a low rimmed dish in a watered down butter sauce. The dish did not have much flavor. The tasted garlic bread on the side was great!! We also added a bottle of chablis to finish the dinner. The wine was served at the appropriate temperature and was good. One observation about the wine list... It is comprised of mostly large producers, who emphasize volume over quality, so while there is something for everyone on the wine list, it is not that impressive. For dinner, we ordered the sea bass special and the local snapper, blackened. The Seabass was very good, accompanied by a vegetable risotto. The fish was prepared well, but the sauce on top was very bland. The local snapper, blackened, was overcooked, and the fish was a bit tough. The sides of corn and rice were well prepared, but again lacked depth of flavor. For dessert, we ordered the pecan pie, à la mode... The ice cream was delicious, but the pie was just OK. All in all, it was an OK meal, the price was not bad, but we likely would not go back, given the other dinner options on the island.

We came here for dinner on a Sunday night and it wasn't too busy. We were greeted right away and our waitress was so kind and friendly. We started off with wine and bruschetta which was tasty. For our entrees I ordered the short ribs and grits while my husband had the steak au poivre. My husband's steak was good, but the real star was the short ribs. They were fall off the bone and so moist. The sauce was fantastic and the grits were amazing. We finished with beignets which were delicious! Would recommend!

This restaurant was our favorite place we ate while on the island! Not only was the server the best, the food was amazing! Highly recommended the following: Shrimp & Grits Fried zucchini (so light and crispy!) Gumbo Coconut shrimp Banana bread pudding Chocolate brownie The only dish they wasn't my favorite was the crab cakes. I've had some amazing ones and this one just didn't cut it.

    Double cut grilled pork chop

Loved the food. Especially the French onion soup. Had the double pork chop, beautiful. The atmosphere was nice, laid back. Sevice was on point.

This review is intended for non-locals…read more I have an app on my iPhone to record the noise level and after five visits (their "siete potencias" fish soup is out of this world good) can tell you they keep the music level at an average of 98.3 dB. If you worked at the airport and stood next to a revving jet engine, that would be about 100dB. Not surprisingly, you will need a megaphone to be heard while you are placing your orders. Also, bring some constructions red flags to wave uncontrollably in order for you to get the attention of the servers at no other than the ordering spot on the counter. To say the service is slow would be an understatement. Based on five visits I would estimate there is a 99% probability they will get something wrong with your order. Stray dogs (and chickens) roam the dinning area (I wish it wasn't so), if you need to use the bathrooms there is a 100% probability it hasn't been cleaned on that day and there will not be any paper towel (that is pretty much guaranteed). The trash cans in the dinning area will always be overfilled with trash. You may be tempted to empty their trash cans, in an act of random kindness, in the dumpster adjacent to the restaurant but I will discourage you from getting within 50 feet of that dumpster. The "view" along with the stench will likely have you running to your car and you will not be able to run away fast enough. I saved the best for last. This passed Friday I stopped there, yet again. Why, you may ask? Because I am telling you, their fish soup keeps me coming back to it. The experience was the same as the other four times except this time there was no queue to order (it still took about ten minutes to order) and a "chinchorreo bus" pulled up right behind us with about 50 people! After getting our lunch (for three people) and the mandatory fish soup, I stood there trying to pay for about 15-20 minutes. It did not matter what I did to try to get their attention (and I was right there at the counter), they either ignored me or could not see or hear me, which would not be surprising. And so I did what I had never done in my life: I walked away, got in my car and went home (without paying). I do not recommend you do the same but my frustration level was at the highest it has ever been, mostly because the workers kept ignoring me regardless of what I did to get their attention. I kept waiving my debit card in hand, lunch on the counter and my two daughters behind me asking "what is wrong with them?" Every two minutes or so. Two things will happen now: I will offer to pay for that lunch on the next visit (I am telling you, I am addicted to that darn fish soup!), or they will contact me after reading this review, at which time I will pay them with 100% premium for not doing it when I should have. I still will not leave a tip... In summary, their fish soup is to die for, their service is so bad there isn't a scale to measure it, the music is so loud you should consider it as dangerous to your hearing, you should bring a megaphone to be heard placing your order or asking for the bill, and you will wonder how on earth this place stays in business. And the answer to that last question is, because people like me May complain and warn others about the health hazards of coming to this place, yet we still come back for that darn fish soup...

The line is always long here but it moves at a good pace, and totally worth it. Don't be intimidated by the people who work here, they aren't very friendly at all. I am Mexican and Puerto Rican, so my Spanish is a mix of both. When i placed my order there was something I said wrong and the girl taking my order laughed a irritated laugh and corrected me. I thought that was pretty rude, and her demeanor was just not it. However, i will say at the end of our encounter she was nice to me, because i treated her with kindness and didnt let it get to me. Im on vacation and i wasn't going to let her bad attitude affect me. The food was amazing and I would go back again in a heartbeat. We ordered a half chicken grilled.
