Dined at this fabulous restaurant during our baby moon in St. Thomas! The restaurant is on our timeshare property at the Lime Tree Resort. We had dinner on a Tuesday night during sunset. The views are absolutely amazing. It's ocean front at Frenchman's bay. The food and service were also excellent. I ordered a garden salad, it was very fresh and the dressing was light and flavorful. My husband ordered a Ceasar salad and he really enjoyed it he said his salad was dressed well. For our entrees we ordered the coconut linguine and fish and chips. The portion sizes are very generous. The linguine had a nice light flavor, the chicken was fire grilled. The fish and chips were really tasty: The chips are actually yuca chips. We loved dining here! read more

Lanai was a nice beach front restaurant that hosted our entire basketball team. the food came out super fast and was extremely tasty. our waitresses brought out tasty chicken wings and also "fiji"...? (not pictured) i understand wanting to be luxurious but when everyone gets their own fiji bottle, i get a bit suspicious. We came here after checking in to the Wyndham since it was conveniently located and we were exhausted. It wasn't super busy and the ambiance was lovely with the sunset and views. I did not enjoy the food, one of the meals I actually had to spit it out because I have no idea what was accidentally mixed in with my food-I am a pescatarian and I think maybe it was some kind of meat. I don't know I spit it out. Watch out for the 20% tip that is included., I guess the staff doesn't feel like they have to work with that already added in -they also charge me 4% surcharge, which I did not get back even though I paid cash. What the hell? Great view of the water and the mountains. There was three iguanas, begging for food. Nothing negative to say here, I suggest you go see for yourself what all the talk is about! They've got it all, the views, the drinks, the food and a generally friendly staff. Go at sunset and watch from your table as you drink and eat, great photo ops! Parking is plentiful, you can walk on the beach before or after- there's no reason not to go! I've been several times and I've never had anything bad. Today I wasn't as hungry so I got the chicken nachos on the happy hour menu and it definitely hit the spot. My daughter had the Tofu poke bowl and she said it was really good. The drinks were cute, served in fun tropical glasses. Romantic setting along the ocean! Fantastic service from our very friendly waitress, KAYLA. She had a lovely smile and was so attentive in ensuring our dining experience was outstanding. A Tale of Two Dinners We recently dined at Lanai and the meal was so spectacular we changed our planned reservation to dine there again a couple of nights later. This was a mistake. We started with the gazpacho and Lanai chopped salad. Both were delicious but the gazpacho was truly extraordinary - fine dining in Manhattan delicious. We then moved on to the pork belly tacos, tamarind ribs, and fish and chips. All three were wonderful and cooked to perfection - in particular the pork belly was nicely rendered and the fish removed from the fryer the moment it was done...not overcooked or oily in any way. We finished with the banana fritters which were...again...simply extraordinary and perfectly cooked. For drinks the rest of our party very much enjoyed the Diver Down and Under Sail while I tried and loved the Juicy Booty from St John Brewers. The atmosphere was lovely in a beachfront sunset kind of way. And the service was impeccable from the moment we were greeted by the hostess to the owner/manager thanking us for our visit and arranging for a taxi back to our resort. On our second visit, the gazpacho, drinks, and atmosphere were all that were up to the same standards. Most of the dishes were 'off' (e.g. the pork belly was undercooked and left fatty) but it was the service that was particularly abominable. Not only was there confusion between waitstaff, bar, and kitchen (i.e. mistaken and missing orders) but it took FOREVER to dine - we waited literally a half hour for an uncooked dessert to arrive at our table. My assumption is that all this was because the owner/manager was nowhere to be seen the second night - our first reservation was a 'prime' weekend one and the second a weekday. And so, my recommendation would be to travel from anywhere on the island to dine at Lanai...it was that spectacular. Just not mid-week. read more

Picture perfect! The view is what attracted us to dine at Lanai but the food should have as well because it was simply divine. Beautiful covered patio and bar facing west overlooking a small beach on the grounds of the Limetree Beach Resort. The resort is very well maintained and the bar/restaurant has wonderfully simple and tasty food. We started with the edamame which was really well done. They had spices on the shell and a low sodium soy dipping sauce. My kids are edamame connoisseurs and they agreed it was delicious. We had several of the fusion tacos: tuna, chicken, pork, steak, and a special that night of fried chicken tacos. All were delicious. We also got a couple of the tai grilled chicken salads which were excellent. We had some frozen drinks that weren't at the same standard as the food, but they weren't bad. Came for Sunday Brunch. They do not take reservations, first come first serve. Luckily we got a table very quickly. Bottomless mimosas for $20 pp they leave the bottle of Prosecco on the table for you to serve yourself which is nice. Make it as strong or as weak as you want :) The shrimp and grits were delicious! We went here twice because it was close to where we were staying, once for brunch and once for dinner. The food and service were both average. The drinks are VERY strong, be cautious when ordering. What makes this restaurant worth visiting is the views. Also, stray cats are known to wander the premises, and if that makes you uncomfortable I wouldn't recommend dining here. read more

Another couple we met on the island was raving about Lania, so we decided to stop by here for dinner on our anniversary. We were staying right next door at an AirBnB, so it was easy to find. The place is lovely, just like every other beachfront resort restaurant. You are on a patio overlooking the Caribbean Sea, what else could you possibly ask for? Drinks were fine, and not over priced. From the way the other couple was talking about the restaurant, I was hoping for some more upscale offerings, but it was generally more casual fare, sandwiches, salads, bowls... Wea ll liked what we ate, I had the poke, my daughter had a bowl (I think it was the stir fry), and my wife had the fish and chips. We split the lomi lomi and guac and chips to start and had the bread pudding for dessert (it was good, but more like an apple tart than bread pudding). Staying at the Limetree Beach Wyndham in St. Thomas and Lanai is the onsite restaurant. Very good food and people there. Loved our server Alleyne. She went out of her way to take care of us. After a long night/day of traveling we went to Lanai for dinner and they were short on staff. They told us we'd have to order to go only but Alleyne saw us and said, no put them at a table over here and I will take care of them and she did a wonderful job. Would highly recommend Lanai for their food and wonderful customer service. We went back again tonight for drinks and had a wonderful time. Really nice place on the island for brunch! The location is beautiful. The beach front views were amazing, you are practically on top of the water! The staff here are very friendly and we were sat quickly in a Sunday morning. Our server Lindsey was fantastic! She was super fun and personable- even gave us some homemade salsa and mimosas for the road! (Which is legal here) They have endless mimosas and bloody Mary's. The menu is limited but still has some great selections. For drinks I opted for the endless mimosa. They hold their word to this one! They come by as soon as your glass is low and fill it up which is awesome; and they are generous with the champagne. For brunch I tried out the shrimp Benedict. It was very good, I like that the shrimp was prepared with salt and butter instead of being left plain, however the English muffins got a little soggy. Another in our group had the loco moco, which is a traditional Hawaiian dish, and loved it. Was a smaller portion that you traditional get in Hawaii but still very filling. We all decided to share the snickerdoodle ice cream sandwich. It was nice and sweet but a little bit hard. Overall I really enjoyed my time here! We actually were staying at the Limetree resort and this is one of their restaurants. It's our last night in st. Thomas and didn't feel like leaving the grounds so we decided to check this restaurant out. Make sure to have a reservation because they do not take walk-ins. I unfortunately was quite late to my reservation but I'm thankful they were still able to find a table for us. I really recommend their strawberry daiquiri. It was made really well. I went with the tacos. I got one shrimp and one chicken. Both were delicious. My date ordered the pineapple shrimp fried rice. He enjoyed it as well. The happy hour was pretty good; It's Monday-Friday from 3pm - 6pm. $10 Off Wine Bottles, $4 Wells, $3 Carib. Lager, and most importantly $1 off Tacos. All the tacos were delicious, I had the shrimp tempura, pork belly, and Avocado tacos. The Lomi Lomi salmon lettuce wraps were amazing - I felt like I was in Hawaii.
