In our search for a carribean restaraunt we came across this place. We went on a Wednesday night and were the only people in the place. Another couple came in mid meal. Most of the entrees were caribean stew pot style with mests in rich sauces and veggies. This was disappointing because my wife was looking forward to some jerk chicken. She settled for the pork tenderloin, and I had the stewed mutton. The stewed mutton was good but not what I was used to. The pork tenderloin was dissapointing as pork tenderloin is better when not overcooked. They could have used pork shoulder or a similar fatty cut for better results. The sauce was good but not what I expected. Most Caribbean food is heavily spiced and these dishes seemed to be toned down. Maybe for the tourists palate. The prices were definately for the tourists. I could not see the locals paying these prices.

Oxtail stew, plantains and seasoned rice: 5 stars. My husband got their burger and it was pretty good as well. The star of the show was their oxtail stew. We went for lunch and there were about 4 tables with customers, I heard it gets a lot of people at times, so we were pretty lucky. Service is fast and friendly, resto and restrooms were clean and masks mandates are followed, as for the rest of the island as of 1/27/2022. No mask, no service. The police do random sweeps at business establishments and they could be forced to close if the police see customers not adhering to the rules, that's why these establishments are pretty strict.

I'm so excited to find a restaurant from home on Yelp. I was just home a week ago and this was our first restaurant for take out. It's a lot of food and I could eat it in one sitting but, thanks to my sister, I had dinner for 2 days. I got the oxtails with peas & rice, veggies and coleslaw. Everything was delicious. The oxtails were seasoned very well. If you're looking for amazing island cuisine, you won't be disappointed. You just need to be on St. Thomas VI. I think there's a location on St. John ax well. My sister had the stew chicken and she enjoyed it. She's more particular than me so you know the food is good. No pics of her order.

Stopped by for quick lunch. Good choice. My wife and I decided to split the Curry chicken with gravy, sweet potato stuffing and fungi. It was very good. The flavor of the curry chicken was amazing. The gravy was so tasty. Had great service and a very friendly staff. I would highly recommend eating at this place.

The food could use more seasoning. The curry for the goat was really tasty, but unfortunately more fat and bones than meat. The lentil filled rotis were yummy

Love this place. The scenery is perfect right on the waters edge, with a low light ambience. Perfect to go with friends or date night. The conch fritters should be a must if you decide to go here. For main meal, I got the curry chicken with three sides of coleslaw, plantain and rice. It was delicious, just the right amount of serving sizes and came out timely. I did not get a photo of the conch fritter but like I said, its a must!

Really hard to find a real taste of the Caribbean that didn't cater to the tourists. I was looking for authenticity for that what my youngest asked for. This place was the best we had, compared to many of the upper scale locations. Not naming places. Oxtail was so flavorful. Both my kiddos, picky, just asked for more. Salmon was good but prob better without the accommodating broth. My youngest killed the wings. If you're looking for authentic, try here.

A hole in the wall in a strip mall away from the tourist areas. This was recommended to us by a local and has very, very good local food. We got the oxtail, goat stew, etc. and everything was very, very tasty. Get out of the tourist traps and try this place.

This place is part of a strip mall right off the road, very easy to find and lots of parking. We were recommended to try here from a local, and it was good. The service is slow, but it is island time in St Thomas. The space is small with two levels for dining. The drinks were delicious and the food was pretty good. The steamed snapper was phenomenal and the curry chicken was our favorite from the evening. We also tried the ox tail which was good, the salted fish, curry goat, and creole chicken. The sides were ok, the rice was a little crunchy and the Mac n cheese was dry. The winner was the sweet potato stuffing, don't miss it! Overall, I would recommend but choose wisely.

This was the first place I ate on the island and I was not disappointed. The flavors were on point. Large portions. The drinks were probably the best ones I had the whole time I was in St. Thomas. The waiter/bartender was really nice and called a taxi for us when we were ready.

Great island restaurant. Small and quaint great for spending time with friends for lunch. Good service provided and nice ambience. We all tried different foods so that we food have a good review of some island food. Everything was amazing and so flavorful! I would highly recommend taking a stop here next time when visiting the island!

So glad to find this hidden gem in a strip mall in Smith Bay. Food and drinks were delicious. Prices are reasonable. Be sure you arrive well before closing - some items were no longer available when we arrived about an hour of closing. Also - they may close up early!

This place so good we end up going twice!! Was looking for Caribbean food and kept finding only burgers an fries.. I was like wtf! So we Google search and found this by accident. Had this the night we arrived in STT and came back three days later because it's raining and we need some good hearty food in us. Loved it..staff was great..drinks were strong and food was amazing! Priced well for st.thomad so don't expect McDonald's dollar menu.

The Vessup especially stood out, the cream on top was so smooth and delicious and just made the whole drink. They brought out fresh bread to start and it was so good (always a win in my book). For dinner, we went with the lobster with potato and broccolini and it was incredible. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were just on point. Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, and service, this was easily one of our favorite dinners on the trip. Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're looking for something a little nicer but still with that island feel.

ROADSIDE TREAT As…read moreyou travel around the island of St Thomas you will encounter roadside restaurants hidden everywhere. This is one of those places. It is located east of the Food Center grocery store. This is a place where the locals eat. As you drive up in your rental car, they will totally know you're not a local. Do not be afraid and miss out where the locals eat. You will see a bunch of outdoor tables and a food truck that is now a non moving kitchen. There is a wooden staircase located at the back door of the truck. As you make your way up the stairs you will see a glass case with already cooked food. It will totally be hard to see the food past the steamy glass but the owner is brilliant. She uses a window squeegee to clean the steam off the windows. You will now have a totally clear view of all the food she has. It is typical Caribbean stewed meats like chicken, goat & fish. A plate of chicken with rice costs only $10. If you want goat or fish with rice it will set you back $12. You can also add on a Johnny Cake for just $1. Two sisters make all of the food and they have been in business for seven years which means that they are doing something right. So next time you find yourself on a winding road in St Thomas keep your eyes open and stay on the left side because these hidden culinary adventures exist everywhere. Everything doesn't have to be twenty bucks a plate and this place is a perfect example.

We wanted red snapper, he only had yellowtail snapper that day but it was still really good! We ordered two meals which come with the whole cooked fish, rice and peas, and plantains. We took it back to our airbnb and had it with some cooked vegetables - it was enough for two meals for each me and my mother, and this was $70 in total, so not a bad deal! If it puts things in perspective, I read online that Brooke's bar has the best food on the island. I tried Brooke's a couple days after I came here (also ordered snapper there) - genuinely I did not notice a difference between here and the food from Brooke's, it's all just tasty! And if anything, I actually preferred Vinny's because he had the food ready when he said it would be ready, whereas when we called Brooke's 2 hours early and they said the food would be ready, it was NOT.
