We had to visit this amazing Caribbean food restaurant on our 3 day trip to St John. Everything good you resd about this restaurant is true. The food is delicious, we ordered the Curry Goat and Stewed Oxtails. The hospitality makes you feel you're at family's house for dinner. And Esther is such a warm hearted and good spirited woman, it was a pleasure meeting her. Highly recommend if you want an amazing meal.

We really enjoyed what felt like an authentic local experience. The service was great and you felt like you were at home. The chef came out as well to check on us. We had the oxtails and the goat and both were delicious.

I would star my review saying that this was the best experience Ive ever had with Caribbean Food, but I decided to talk first about the owners because they deserve it. Best hosts ever, they treat you like family. They would do anything to please you. Food was delicious, my favorite, the curry goat and oxtail. Their homemade ice cream, five stars!!! Exquisite!!! The place was really cute and very clean!!! I have attached pictures.

Delicious jerk chicken on St John's! They also have a variety of juices and smoothies. Big shoutout to our waitress who asked us if we wanted alcohol in our smoothie because duh, why not?!

It is a family ran restaurant. The service was awesome. They were so friendly. Home cooked meals. The mother cooked it and came out and asked us how we enjoyed our meals. If you are staying in Coral Bay this is a must. The aesthetic inside of the restaurant is super cute as well!

This place is super cute with friendly staff. Note of warning they only take CASH. So we ended up just getting some smoothies, salt fish pate and Johnny cakes. All were delicious.

Salmon over peas and rice with a pineapple and red bell pepper salsa served with a raison slaw and small side salad.

Nice little low key spot in Coral Bay. Family owned and feels like great home cooked Caribbean cuisine. Goat curry was amazing and we also had salmon with peas and rice. If you're just looking for a quick snack they also have several different Johnny Cakes. We got the tuna one to go to eat later and it was equally delicious. Full bar as well.

Passion fruit and lime juice locally made.

The menu is big. It's local. They sell out as the night goes on. All of the servers do not speak English really well. But, honestly, if you have a question that can't be answered, there's someone around you can talk to. We ordered sautéed fish and the stewed chicken. Each entree comes with three sides - my favorites were the plantains, red beans, and Cole slaw. Rice was also good. The cook was also grilling pork that smelled AMAZING and when I asked my server if I could have whatever he was making, she literally snuck me over a side plate of smoked and grilled pork. So freaking good. This is not your typical Cruz bay restaurant. This is local. It's delicious. There is live music. Appreciate what you are getting. If you want cute fish tacos, this place isn't for you. We had a cocktail at the Windmill Bar during sunset and then popped over here (practically next door), to order some food. Tables are picnic style tables. All outside. Service is great but food is cooked to order so it might be slow. Enjoy it! We had multiple beers and a couple mamawana shots and two entrees and our total was about $75. Definitely our least expensive meal on St. John ever.

Everything is so fresh and packed with flavor, that you really can't go wrong with anything in the menu. The vegetable paella was delicious, the two tridatos we tried were fresh and bright with the different sauces on top, and the key lime pie was absolutely amazing. It is definitely the vacationers favorite spot, but I wouldn't say it's too touristy or anything. It gets a lot of attention because it's good and a nice place to eat dinner with your family on vacation. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly. The host was kind enough to try to squeeze us in anywhere he could so for that we are very grateful. The food took awhile to come out, but that's probably just island time stuff, and besides the place was PACKED. But our appetizers and desserts came out really quickly. We loved our time here and would definitely recommend giving it a try if possible! There is a good mix of seafood and "land breezes" on the menu, plus a couple vegetarian plates if needed. Perfect for cocktail and mocktails as well!

Surely this place had to be amazing with that long of a line and very limited reservations. Ok so there was good and bad, hence the 3 stars. The good, great ambience, open air with a good view. Adding to that, the food was stellar. Super fresh, great flavors and portions were good. Would definitely come back for the food. The bad... service, or lack there of. We were a party of 4 but must have been invisible. We got waters quickly but didn't order anything else. Not sure if that was a surprise to the server but we don't drink. It was all downhill from there. Took forever for us to order an appetizer and while it came out quickly, once again, it took forever to order our dinner. Food came out and was delicious. The server came by once to make sure we were ok but that was it until the bill came. He disappeared from serving us only to bow down to the table across from us. That table ordered lots of drinks and lobster so apparently they get preferential treatment and we get nothing. End of the day, while the service sucked, food was good. Might or might not go back.

Our original pick was closed for the month of May and by happenstance the owner recommended Sylvia's. We walked in and the place has just the essentials. There's a bar on the right and then the kitchen, tables on the left, and bathrooms in the back. The menu is on a white board with a cash only sign right below. There were about 6 mains and each came with two sides (4 options, the 5th sold out). Sylvia took our order and between the 4 of us we tried 3 of the mains and all of the sides. I had the fresh fish of the day, grilled in butter sauce. It came out head, tail, scales and all. Sylvia explained this as I ordered and let me know it was to keep all of the flavor. She also showed me how to slice it to avoid the bones and it was flat out delicious. We shared the sides among us, my favorites being the mash and spinach; though all were good. My boyfriend ordered the jerk chicken and it had some serious heat. He asked about the recipe and Sylvia mentioned that everyone on the island had the same request but no one ever got it. My friend ordered the homemade key lime pie; best she ever tasted. Some quirks: There's a bar and the restaurant that operate as two different businesses, so you'll get your drinks on one bill and the food on a second. Also, they are CASH ONLY; It cost us about $150 to get out the door for dinner for 4, drinks, and a generous tip. Sylvia serves her food in Sputnik Bar. If you're approaching from the northwest on Rte 10, keep straight instead of turning into Coral Bay (at the 107 split). It'll be about 1/2 mile down the road on the left.

We also ordered their special dish of the morning which was a fried breakfast burrito with egg, sausage, avocado and a glaze of the chipotle sauce on the tortilla, with a serving of country potatoes on the side. The filling of the burrito was very good, but I think I would rather have this deconstructed than inside a flour tortilla.
