BBQ ribs!
Yuk L.

A local brought us here for lunch before heading to Trunk Bay. My friend and I shared the BBQ ribs plate. Our companions had the oxtail plates. Excellent food. Great location.

The food here was delicious, the staff was friendly and the vibe was of a local chill and hang out spot. I hope when we return they are more established.

Oxtail

The best food and the best pina coladas on the island. My husband suggested this open air resturant and bar. We ended up here twice during our short vacation because it was that good. He ordered the oxtail and I had the steamed fish both times with sides of lentils, rice, potato salad, coleslaw. You must also have the fresh juices available. They will kindly add a shot of rum if you ask. The pina coladas are fresh and so good. Listening to Bob Marley and enjoying the freshest most flavorful local food was absolute heaven.

BEST FOOD WE'VE HAD ALL WEEK! WELL SEASONED, FLAVORFUL, WITH LOVELY SERVICE BY KIND AND WELCOMING OWNER AND FAMILY- HANDS DOWN BEST MEAL ALL TRIP!!!! We had seafood pasta (MASSIVE Pieces of LOBSTER inside), and four local fish with THREE SIDE DISHES for each entree . Soo good, super reasonable prices, LOCAL AND FAMILY OWNED, I'm super bummed I didn't find this gem the first day but will be v happy if others discover this family friendly outdoor place! Very relaxed atmosphere, tables with dominoes to play with and just the friendliest and most helpful people!!

We had a large party, 10 adults and 4 kids, and they were able to accommodate us around 5:45pm. We were told to get there early because they do fill up fast, and I can see why. Our server was amazing and she was so patient with us. Not one person had any complaints about their food or drinks. They make great stuff here.

If it was in the state, I probably would give it four stars but here to me it's a five. This island needs a good sushi restaurant. Everything we ordered was as good or better than what we expected This may be the most beautiful restaurant in St. John, With the beautiful view, I strongly suggest you come here at lunch or at dinner before it gets dark. It is just too beautiful, not to enjoy such a view I read other reviews before I came here. Almost everybody said everything was great, but the service was slow. Possibly the Restaurant was just starting to manage it properly but when we were there, I have nothing to complain about the service. I was very happy and I could come here weekly. Assuming I can afford it. It cost a lot. after tip for the two of us, it was over $500. I talked to the people at the table next-door because they were having meat. One was having a ribeye. I believe the other was having lamb chops. They both were very happy with what they got. That's great to know, because let's face it not everybody likes seafood. Many people who order a California roll at restaurants are not getting top Quality Crab. The crab in my California roll here was perfect. obviously other people appreciate this restaurant too, because it was filled. i'm thrilled I came to karma and I'm looking forward to be coming here regularly from this point on oh yeah, almost forgot because I'm not a big dessert lover. My wife ordered hot donuts with ice cream and whipped cream . We loved it, maybe I have to rethink about not caring about dessert. Bon appétit

The drinks are a little pricier, but taking into account you're in the middle of a national park with not much around, the prices make sense. Drinks absolutely delicious - we loved the pina colada! They have plenty of seating, so you can either stay and enjoy or take your drinks back to the beach across the street. I'm not sure if they're related or not, but there is a little food shop little right next to it with the same available seating. As with the drinks, food there is a little pricier but take into account where you are. We ordered the mahi bites. Absolutely delicious. Fish was solid enough to pick up but flaked apart in your mouth. Would totally order again. Great place to stop when you're enjoying the beach at Maho Bay.

This place is the hub for anything fun you plan to do in Maho bay: ample rentals to kayak, paddle board, snorkel, chair rentals for the beach front. Great strong drinks and a fun chill vibe to chillax, play corn hole, kick back and people watch, or stare at the stunning turquoise wonder that is Maho Bay. Very highly recommended.

If the waiter just came to the table our bill would have doubled for them. Therefore? It was very over priced for the full package. Dinner entrees are all $40-$60 for moderate portions. I know St. John is expensive and there are several other restaurants charging the same prices but those have full staff checking on you and a much more refined interior. This place is good but prices should be 30% less or they should up their interior & service. All that said, the food was all great.

For our date night we went out to The Refinery... the food and service were great. The drink menu has many options, and we selected the non-Caribbean, the Hawaiian-themed humuhumunukuapua'a (humumu) drinks... they are poured from dry gin, lemon/lime, orgeat (also in mai tai), and pineapple - very good! We made surf n turf from two menu items: - Mango mahi mahi - Churrasco Steak and fries - Both served with yucca fries - similar to potato french fries but a bit lighter and really good The Refinery is located a block from the street with several other restaurants in downtown St. John, and is right next door to a building that is home to The Legislature, the St. John Annex of the US Virgin Island's law-making branch of government. Thank you, The Refinery! ----- ----- -----

If…read moreyou're looking for a great view of the sunset and beach and to get some drinks and appetizers, this is the place for you! We got 4 drinks and 2 appetizers. Here's what we thought - starting with the best: - Mai Tai ($12). This was our favorite of the four drinks we got. It was a sweet fruity drink but you can definitely taste/feel the rum too! - Smoked Pork Sliders ($16). A set of 3 sliders. The best part is the korean chili aioli; it really pulls otherwise plain sliders into a great appetizer. - Blackened Mahi Bites ($15). Our server mentioned this was their most popular appetizer. Definitely can tell why! You get a bowl of cubed mahi with a remoulade dipping sauce (think of it like a spicy mayo or creamy mustard sauce) and an arugula salad. - Classic Pineapple Daiquiri ($12). So great. Definitely got me in the mood for the sunset! - Mojito ($10). Classic mojito - can't go wrong with it! - Goslings Dark & Stormy ($10). Our least favorite drink here. The bitters and rum over power the ginger beer unlike the typical Dark & Stormy's I've normally had before.

The hubby enjoyed the Wagyu Burger and I really enjoyed the Beef Bao Buns. The son had the Tuna Tartar Bowl. The daughter-in-law had the Josephine's Greens Salad w/grilled chicken added. We also ordered Chicken Nuggets and fries from kid's menu for the grandson. Menu is limited and prices are a little high for the amount of food you get. (This wasn't the menu we saw online.) With that said, the food was really good and the service was excellent. I would suggest going here when you want a light snack/meal. Otherwise you might leave feeling a little hungry.

The spacious dining area with a great happy hour and dinner menu comes out at 5:00. We got there for the lunch menu and were glad we did because we got sandwiches which were great. Candidly, nothing on the dinner menu blew our minds. The tuna sandwich with wasabi and arugula was fantastic, and the tuna was prepared perfectly! We also got shrimp tacos that were better than the sandwich for what it's worth. Our server, who didn't give us her name, was sweet and attentive and even brought a cask of water without us asking. At the end of the day, High Tide delivered as advertised. Three last thoughts if you've read this far: Park at the MVD and walk; it's not that far and free. Get the Key Lime Pie; it was outstanding but pretty typical of the area. Lastly, stop at the merch store and grab a t-shirt, which are some of the best I've seen so far!
