Hidden off of Saint Laurent Blvd, this restaurant seemed cute, quaint and busy. There wasn't a lot of seating but we were planning to takeaway anyway. The place has a homey feel ..from the hand written menus and customer messages on the walls to the lady in the kitchen wrapping dumplings. Food was yummy and nice and hot even after bringing it home. You have a choice of steamed or panfried.

Les meilleures et les plus authentiques dumplings de Montréal - parfait! C'est comme les cafés à dumplings où je mangeais quand je vivais en Chine

Small place with great dumplings! At the entrance they have a really cool concept which is allow you to write a message or draw anything that your heart desires and pin it on the wall or roof if you jump high enough! The service was surprisingly really fast and they serve a cute tea set! We got the beef coriander and a pork one. They were both really good! If you like dumplings I recommend this place! One of the best I had.

The dumpling game in Montreal is cray. Every time I visit, another half dozen new ones seem to pop up. The Dumpling Hut seemed right up my alley but even I didn't expect it to be in an apartment. The inside is cozy with only four tables. Cute little post it note compliments adorn the walls when you walk in. Someone needs to explain why there's a traffic light as part of their decor though. Seems to be family run. Daughter runs the front and is the only waitress. Mother is the dumpling maestro. There's eight types of dumplings and three sides to choose from. Can't get anymore concise then that. - Pork and dill ($8.99) - 15 dumplings per order and they're boiled. Took it to go. Comes with a tasty chili soya sauce. Dumplings were fresh and you could really taste the dill. There was the slightest bit of soup inside them. Pretty good overall. Wish I could have tried a few more things but c'est la vie. Bonus they take credit!

You know the default text that Yelp provides when you start writing your review? "Doesn't look like much when you walk past... the definition of a hole in the wall... there are no words... you can't really go wrong... not much to say besides go see for yourself!!!!" Dumpling Hut is exactly that. If you walked by, you wouldn't really think there's a restaurant within your presence. And when you step inside, it looks like your damn HOUSE. That's part of its charm! So you come here for dumplings. The restaurant has a menu of 15 dumpling options (if I remember correctly), and you get 16 per order. I got the pork and chives, and they were DELICIOUS. Juicy, tender, and there's enough vinegar and spice available to make it taste how you want it. The experience is like you're paying to eat dumplings as if you're at home... but you enjoy paying for it? I could be a little crazy, but at least the food isn't. It's gooooood.

You can't have fresher than that. Made riiiight here.

Just the best and freshest dumplings we've ever had in Montreal. Forget Chinatown... it's worth coming here. My favorite is number 6: Pork, zucchini and shrimps. Ask for the fried ones ;-) You can also buy them frozen to take home and order for pick ups. Will be back again, again and again.

The place is a bit on the expensive side and the food lacked strong flavors, but the staff was welcoming and the ambiance very cozy.

I ordered noodle size #5, and the texture was just so-so--it didn't have the chewiness I was looking forward to, which was a bit disappointing. I also found the beef to be underwhelming. The slices were very thin, which can be nice in some cases, but here they felt a bit lacking in substance and didn't have much texture or flavor. It ended up being just okay and didn't add much to the overall dish. I ordered a medium bowl, but the portion was quite large--definitely more than I expected. A small would have been enough for me, so keep that in mind when ordering. We arrived around 8:30 pm and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The service was pretty good overall, and the staff was attentive without being overbearing.

The hand pulled noodles here are so good. My partner and I got the small bowls (braised beef and lamb noodle soups), but the portions are HUGE. This meal was very filling; we could've done without the dumplings, but they're too good to pass up. Service was ok since only one person was handling most FOH procedures. Atmosphere was also fine. It was just really warm, even with the multiple fans running (open doors, no AC), but it was to be expected with the pots of noodles cooking in the front. The Long Version: My husband and I had dinner here and we really enjoyed it. I initially was going to get their soup dumplings (their specialty), but when I looked at the menu, I saw that they had Laksa ($18.99), so I couldn't resist ordering that instead. My husband prefers pan-fried dumplings over soup dumplings, so he got the pork and mushroom dumplings ($14.50) and there was a $1.99 surcharge for pan-frying (the base price is for steamed). My Laksa was huge and delicious. The broth was so rich with coconut milk and a bit spicy. It was really flavourful. The noodles had a nice chew to them. The soup also contained some decent-sized shrimp, velvetized sliced chicken, cubes of tofu and a boiled egg. I wished it had some vegetables in though because I felt very unhealthy eating just starch and protein, lol. I did enjoy it though ;) I had one of my husband's dumplings and it was good. It had ground pork in it and chopped up mushrooms. There was a slight gingery taste to it. I liked it and my husband liked them too. Service was very pleasant. The server refilled our waters regularly and I like that the water had ice in it and was very cold. The restaurant is not too large and has seating on a main level then up a few steps they have 4 more tables of 4 by the front window. We walked there from our hotel, but as with pretty much all businesses in The Plateau it's street parking only. Review #209 (2025)

I was expecting a more flavored experience and maybe that is not what they do or I could have ordered differently. The menu is huge so it is hard to know where to start. We went here because of the good Yelp reviews. Were we arrived in Chinatown there were many other places that looked great, so we loitered at the door for a minute while deciding what to do. As we loitered a family came out and noticed us and asked if were were going to Keung Kee. We said we were thinking about it and they said just go, it is the best restaurant in Chinatown. Sold. We went in, up the stairs, waited a bit, and got a table. This is the kid of place you need to bring a lot of people because that is whet it is built for, the menu is extensive, and the portions are huge. We puzzled over the menu then ordered our food. We wanted a bottle of cold sake and the waiter brought it in an ice bucket. Nice. We started with the pork dumplings. The dumplings were very goof but came in a hot thick sweet peanut sauce. With a lighter sauce these would have been outstanding. The scallop was huge and had a bunch of stuff on it. There was some good scallop flavor but it was masked with all the stuff that tasted like old oil. The noodle dish was good but also had some old oil flavor coming from somewhere. All the meats and vegetables were nice and fresh but the good sauce I think was the source of the oil. We saw a table next to us had the pork chops and was asked, what are those? So we got that too. The chops were thin bone in with a batter fried then soaked in a vinegar sauce. These would have been good as our only item with a bowl of rice. Our co-eaters there had many good looking things. I would give this a try again but would bring a few more people so we could try more stuff. Total for all that including the sake was $100 Canadian. Not bad!
