The beef noodles were thick and well cut; brisket was thinly sliced and tender. Medium sized was still ample. Edamame salad was complemented with mustard greens.

I had to take this with my (average sized) hand so you can see how huge the medium bowl is

Super busy night, so for once I'm happy to be a party of one :) I ended up with a medium beef soup, and it was more than enough. The noodles were a bit thicker than I expected, but not an issue. Cant wait to come ne back for the other two dishes...

You won't be disappointed Beef noodle soup hit all the right spots. Although the broth is lighter color than some variants, it had deep flavor, with noticable warm spices. Beef was thinly sliced and tender. Came with a whole tea soaked boiled egg. The chili oil they add is the same as what's on the table so no need to worry if you're unsure and want to DIY. Medium size was pretty large, so a small could suffice for a regular or light meal. You can choose your noodle size/thickness from like 6 or so sizes, but #3 is the recommended size according to the waitress. The hand pulled noodles had strong chewiness, so fyi. Great dish

There was a long line at lunch, so naturally I joined to see what's the hype. The servers are quick to seat you. (They also ask you to leave when you've paid.) I was also here during the anime convention, so it was a popular area to have lunch. I had a seat close to the back, so it was hard to find someone to get me more water or to pay the bill. I found out that you can just go to the cashier to pay. Servers spoke English, a bit of French, and Mandarin. I got the traditional hand-pulled Lan Zhou beef noodle soup. The small size is $13.99 and large size is $17.99. It's a big difference. I personally didn't think the noodles were that great. The texture was eh. The flavor was not really there? The beef was ok. I recommend coming here during the day before dinner time to avoid waiting in line though it does move pretty quick. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch and tried the Dan Dan noodles (noodle choice 5) and the traditional beef noodle soup (noodle choice 4). The hand-pulled noodles were very high quality and I really enjoyed the Dan Dan because the spice was more hot as opposed to numbing. I liked the flatter noodles over the thin ones since they felt a little lighter. I'll definitely be coming again next time I'm in Montreal!

The best ramen outside of Tokyo, and well maybe better than even some there. You get to choose your noodle size and it's all handmade right there! Watching them make and pull noodles then eating them was such a great experience! It was busy, so be prepared to wait in line to order, but completely worth it!

Excellent hand pulled noodles and fast service. There will always be a line, but dont worry it moves quickly and it is very easy to get a seat at the bar. My party of two showed up around 7pm on a weekend and were able to get seated within 20 or 30 minutes despite a pretty long line. Inside is pretty cozy and its fun to watch the noodles being made in the open kitchen. We ordered the dan dan noodles and the beef noodle soup. Both dishes came out very quickly and were super fresh and tasty - you can really tell the difference in fresh noodles. The portions are also massive, this place really hits the spot on a cold day!

Amazing hand pulled noodles! There was a line around the building when we came but it moved surprisingly quick. The shop is small but you can see them pulling the noodles up front and everything tastes fresh and delicious. You can tell the noodles are hand pulled because of the different thickness. We tried a dry noodle but the soup noodles also looked amazing!

This place has a long line. We decided to give it a try as our first time in Montreal. We ordered the following: 1. Beef tendon noodle with soup - extremely tender beef tendons and flavorful broth. The noodles were also the perfect consistency, and generous portion of noodle, soup, and tendons. 2. Original beef noodle soup - broth was very flavorful, tender beef shank, and noodles on point as well. 3. Spicy cucumber salad - refreshing with a nice mild spiciness and crispy garlic on top. Customizable noodle size and shape here. We went with the recommended thickness and shape. Highly recommend!

I ordered the hand-pulled beef noodle soup (HIGHLY recommend) and it was some of the best noodles I have ever eaten. The service was good, and the ambience was great. I only gave it four stars because they had an extremely limited drink menu (water and soda)

We came in when they opened for an early lunch. We were seated right away and given a minute to look over the menu. The portions are definitely large I ordered a medium and the bowl was huge but delicious. We had some spicy cucumbers as an appetizer. I also had a canned tea. Very reasonably priced. The bowls came out quickly. To avoid the line I would definitely come as early as you can.

Omgosh I can't remember when I've had better hand pulled noodles in any recent memory! I'm so sad this place is not in NY - they should get one! The noodle bowls are so big and filling and so hearty and warming on the chilly days we spent in Montreal. We did have to wait on line, but thankfully found a spot a block and a half away so I could wait with my little guy without him freezing in the cold. We were seated in one of the back areas which was perfect for us with the space and not being in the way. We got a table for the 3 of us and were able to enjoy (as much as you can with a toddler). It was just my luck that were there on a Friday, which is considered the weekend, and I was able to get the special beef soup! It's only one size and I wish they made a bigger one! It was a absolutely delicious and I was craving it all weekend. We were leaving Monday and I decided, F it, I'm bringing some home! We had a long drive, but it was cold and it was worth it to me so I ended up getting 2 orders of the special and 1 reg (which was also bomb) and I never looked back! Had one that night in our Airbnb and took my favs home. I'm still craving it now, but so happy I got extras! The price is also so ridiculously reasonable for what you get and it's cool to watch the guys in the front prepare. For the life of me now, I cannot remember the woman's name who sat us, but she has to be some type of manager as well as the person who helps take your order. She recognized me on Sunday when I came back as well to get my to-go orders haha I would be back here in a heartbeat and on our next trip to Montreal, I'll be here again for sure! Enjoy!

Fast service cash only Vietnamese restaurant. The pho was good especially if you like lightly salted pho broth. I ordered the small pho with flank meat and tripe. For a small portion there was a good amount of meat and beef.

The Long Version: I love hand pulled noodles, so my husband and I had lunch here. He's not a fan of noodle soups but agreed to come and just have appetizers, lol. I got the small-sized Spicy Mushrooms and Chicken Noodle Soup ($13.99). I chose the #6 size noodles which is the thickest noodles they offer. My husband got the imperial rolls ($4.50 for 3) and the fried shrimp wontons ($11.99 for 10). I really enjoyed my soup, especially the thick noodles. They were chewy and the right amount of softness. There were chicken pieces in it, mushrooms and a delicious "tofu sausage." It also had 2 pieces of baby Bok Choy and some pieces of kelp. I wished there was more vegetables. The soup also had green onions and cilantro. The broth was a tiny bit spicy from the chili oil. I am happy that this soup does not have sesame seeds in it, so I didn't have to ask them to hold the sesame seeds. Lol. My only complaint would be that the broth was a bit too salty and too oily for my tastes. I still thought it was good though. My husband enjoyed his appetizers. The imperial rolls were vegetarian. I didn't have any, but they looked like nothing special to me, haha. However, the hubby liked them which is what matters. The fried shrimp wontons looked good and he liked those too. Service was pleasant and efficient. The decor is casual with some fun touches. I liked the rotating lanterns with lights on the ceiling and the drawings of a big squid and clams on the walls. I would return to try their other noodle soups and also their handmade dumplings. Review #10 (2026)

We got the deep fried pork wontons ($5), crispy shrimps ($17.95) and house noodles with beef ($15.95). The fried wontons were really crispy. The wonton wrappers were all blistery. My only complaint is that the amount of ground pork in each wonton was very little, but I guess considering the price, I guess it's to be expected. Luckily the house noodles with beef had a good amount of beef in it. The beef was lean and tender. The noodles were a good texture and there was also broccoli, Bok Choy, onions, cabbage and carrots in it. This was my favourite of the 3 dishes we had. The shrimps were tasty too, but I felt less bang for our buck since the portion was small. The shrimps were crispy and there was diced onions and bell peppers mixed in. There were chili flakes too, so it was a bit spicy. Service was really efficient. Our food came out in record time. They also gave us 2 refillable bottles of water and as soon as we emptied one, they swapped it out for a full one. As soon as we finished a dish, they removed the empty dish from the table. The restaurant is really small, so the servers had an easy view of all the tables. It was almost comical how efficient they were, lol. This place is popular. They seem to have a lot of regulars. Decor is casual. We had a great meal and would return. Review #72 (2025)

The space is cozy and very efficient, and despite the line, it moves fairly quickly. The open kitchen is right at the front, where you can watch a guy stretching fresh noodles by the window, which is fun to see. Once seated, ordering is super simple. They ask you three things: bowl size, noodle thickness, and spice level. We ordered three medium bowls and one large, and let me tell you, the large was ginormous. Portions are extremely generous. The noodles were perfectly cooked al dente, and the soup was light yet flavorful, not overly salty, which I really appreciated. Each bowl also came with a decent amount of thinly sliced beef shank, a whole marinated egg, and generous amount of scallions and cilantro. We also ordered the combo sets so we can try their appetizers too. My favorite was the spicy tofu strips. The chewy texture and bold flavor were excellent. My second favorite was the spicy cucumbers, which were slightly crunchy and salty, with garlic and chili peppers adding great depth. I usually prefer larger cucumber pieces for extra crunch, but these were still very enjoyable. The edamame with pickled greens was just okay compared to the others. Overall, my family and I really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back the next time we're in Montréal.

The restaurant is just across Rue Sherbrooke from the main entrance to McGill in a block of fancy offices. The space is the size of your first apartment. There are maybe eight tables but the space is shared so all seats are filled all the time from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. And the line goes out the door; don't be discouraged. The line moves quickly. The "host" hands you a menu and takes your order while you're waiting in line. And your food arrives almost as soon as you sit down. And it's tasty. I had "oil noodles" plus spicy cucumbers. My wife had noodles with beef in broth plus spicy shredded tofu. All four dishes were excellent. Seriously. There's a burly guy in the front window making the noodles, which includes loud slams as he stretches and pulls the dough. Did I mention that they must be selling at least as many take out orders as in house. Caution: what you get is actually one long noodle, maybe a meter long, so prepared to slurp and bite off the noodle. We both used napkins (serviettes to you Canadians) tucked in like bibs.

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again!
