definitely hit the spot when we wanted to have some dumplings after a long drive. Very authentic and close to what we get in NY. Service was good and welcoming. Everyone spoke English. The ambiance is good for small groups and date nights.

Pan fried pork & cabbage dumplings (lunch price $10.99 or $12.99 after 3 PM)

This soup dumpling (xiao long bao, XLB) restaurant sells just that.. I was expecting to see other dumplings or noodles on the menu. I was also disappointed to see few Chinese patrons. On my way out, there was a couple getting take out. I got #11 pork XLB and #18 lamb and coriander. Pork was meh. Lamb was better. I asked the server for ginger, and they said they don't have it! Very surprised. I also got the fried dumplings. They're only good because they're fried. I would not come back. Oh, almost forgot the thing that made me puke in my mouth. This cockroach appeared on the wall next to my table!! That means there is an infestation somewhere nearby.

I have never had, nor heard of, a soup filled dumpling, so ordering it and trying it was a new experience. The young man who took my order helped me decide on a suitable dumpling and his suggestion was the best. One bite through the tender dumpling and a flood of brothy soup, with a hint of ginger, warms your mouth. A burst of deliciousness in an instant. It is a small restaurant but it is very inviting. I was not rushed to leave, which I greatly appreciated. Their lunch specials make giving this restaurant a try. This place is worth the trip.

6/2/25 - left, seaweed salad on the right pickled cucumber. Both very good.

6/3/25 - quick service, in an extremely busy restaurant in Chinatown. It must be authentic and good or it wouldn't have the clientele it has. The soup dumplings are very full of meat and broth. Brought to the table in traditional bamboo steamers. There's 10 fairly large dumplings in each steamer basket. Tried the seaweed salad and pickled cucumbers. On the table is a diagram on how to eat them. The server is very pleasant and patient. The place is clean, you can observe the cooks in the kitchen preparing the various dumplings and dim sum. The tables are sanitized after each customer is finished. The restaurant runs smoothly. They appear to be a small chain of dim sum restaurants; there's a couple other parts of Montreal, I was told.

We came for an early dinner and beat the crowds (started filling up around 630 on a weekend). Doing my research this place calmly high recommended with multiple locations all over the city. I loved the peanut noodles and the shrimp dumplings with peanut sauce for appetizers. I'm typically a hugggge fan of soup dumplings but for some reason these missed for me. The vegetarian ones we ordered were just very off putting texture wise (tofu was ground up and flavorless) and the shrimp ones were tasty but had no real broth inside. We did find the prices reasonable but just wasn't as blown away. With lots of chili oil and soy the were easier to finish. With lots of dumpling places nearby, I'm not sure I'd come back unfortunately

Chicken and Cabbage Dumplings

I thought the dumplings here were okay. I had their chicken and cabbage pan fried dumplings. The pros of this place was that that the food was pretty cheap and reasonable priced and they also have dumpling options for those who might have eating restrictions including vegetarian dumplings. However, service was a bit slow when I went in and there wasn't a huge customer base and I found the food to be edible and a meal that can be good for sustenance, but nothing that really left an impact.

The pros of this place are clean restrooms, clean dining area, fast service, and cheap menu. The cons are that the food lacked flavor and it was more oily than necessary. We got the cold noodles (they were out of cucumbers at lunch time) and the fried dumplings. The cold peanut noodles were okay. They were missing something, hard to say what exactly, but the flavor wasn't there. The fried dumplings lacked flavor. They weren't bad, but weren't good. There was a yellow tint to them and the oil sitting at the bottom of the plate was a little more than necessary. Overall, the service was good, but theres better food in the area.

The entrance to Montreal's Chinatown

While in Montreal. We went looking for Chinatown, we were looking for restaurant that had wet dumplings. We found it, and It was crowded we had to wait for sitting, once we were sitting, we placed our order we did two different orders.. One of pork and chives. The other shrimp. Both dumplings had broth in the inside, which you slightly open up releasing the heat of the broth, and then putting it in your mouth. So good I never had anything like that before

If you love a variety of pan fried, steamed, or soup dumplings - this is the place to try! Small and popular spot along Rue de La Gauchetière O. We tried the shrimp, classic pork, and lamb with cilantro dumplings. Also ordered the pan fried chicken dumplings and cold peanut noodles (add chili for the extra kick). They were all tasty although a bit different in flavors than the classic dumplings we were used to in Boston. 3.5/5

Restaurant was packed but the line moved quickly. Each dumpling order came with 10 pieces. The tofu was a bit odd - tasted sweet but had chili topping. I'd skip on the tofu but the dumplings were delicious especially on a cold rainy day!

Yummy dumplings - pork and crab n pork with scallop and shrimp. Yummy!!! Made fresh on order

Soup dumplings served piping hot!

We were on a hop on hop off tour n we were hungry so we hopped off. This place had great reviews so decided to try. So glad we did. Best soup dumplings ever. Served steaming hot. Service is friendly n courteous and fast.

Classique Pork soup dumplings
Jaime E.

This was probably our most economical meal in Montréal. We had the Pork Classique soup dumplings and the shrimp fried dumplings. Big portions. I preferred the fried ones. I thought the soup in the soup dumplings lacked any real flavor. Although they do have a re/orange sauce to add to your bowl with soy sauce. It got very noisy. Not sure why. There weren't parties larger than 4 (seating for large parties is probably difficult based on their seating configurations.) All in all, it was "good enough" for the price and experience.

This was a pretty large and clean restaurant located in a large plaza with plenty of parking. They had lots of tables and also a pretty robust takeout service. Bun Bo Hue - 10/10 Super flavorful broth and a perfect super mild spicy! I personally don't like all the pork feet and bones in my noodle soup but authentically I think it should come with it and other people prefer it. But I liked that it only came with the regular viet ham and beef bc I don't like the other things. #44 Pork Chop Rice Plate - 10/10 It may look small on camera but this portion was HUGE. Lots of rice! But the pork chop was decent regular size. Pork chop was perfectly marinated and I love the glaze that comes with it. Cooked perfectly as well not too dry and not tough. Also the fried egg was perfect! A little soft fried sunny side egg yolk! Overall I loved all elements of this place and I had so much rice left over but I was FULL for the whole day. Banh Xeo - 10/10 HUGE portion as well! It's super stuffed with lots of filling and the crepe was cooked soft and crispy! I like this style of appetizer because it's super hands on and you get to wrap it like a little roll. Super fun and yummy appetizer! ALSO pleaseee try the sugar cane drink! It's so refreshing and it's real authentic sugar cane and it literally soothes your soul. The ambience was super welcoming and the restaurant was super big and spacious. Overall, I liked every single dish and everything was super flavorful and made me feel good eating it! Best bun Bo hue I had!

I love this because I was worried they would shoo me away and tell me they were not taking anymore customers since it was almost closing time but this was not the case. Thank you guys for the awesome service! Also it was really clean in here and nice and warm and quiet. A small escape from the cold night that was going on in Montreal. I ordered my two orders of dumplings, one pork and coriander and the other beef and onions. They were very good! I was more than satisfied with what I was given and especially enjoyed the portion size. It was very generous. My experience here was a great one. The peanut butter dumplings were a little interesting to me and could've been a little bit more savory, but we're still very tasty and the shrimp was the biggest surprise because I'm not a huge fan of mayonnaise, but that's what came with the shrimp and the combination was surprisingly tasty. I did pick up and did not eat in, but the staff seemed friendly when I stopped by.

Whatever it was Pho Saigon Viet-Nam served me up the best Satay Beef Pho I ever tasted. I started my lunch meal with spring rolls ($5,00). They were good but not the best spring rolls I ever had. The roll I thought was a bit chewy. Next came the Satay Beef ($12) which totally flavored the Pho. It was the best Pho I ever had but mind you I am no expert. They have a strange business model in that a small bowl is $11 and a large bowl is $12. It came out piping hot. I had to let it sit, as well as, blow on the broth to cool it down. The staff was tri-lingual. Imagine that! The food came out quick. It seems a lot of locals dine here. The restaurant is located in Chinatown. The street entrance is below ground level. The restaurant is somewhat dated and upkeep could be improved. The food is a 5 STAR in my opinion.

More of a 3.5, but I'm giving this rating a little more leverage for the service and hospitality…read more We came on Christmas Eve, because all my other usual pho spots were already closing by 5pm. The restaurant was relatively empty. Tabletops had a bit of a stench to it and the menus handed to us were sticky. Not one to judge a book by its cover and these conditions are fairly common in Chinatown. The menu was pretty extensive with all the common dishes. I really wanted some banh cuon or banh uot, but on a frigid night, I felt like some pho would hit the spot instead. The bun bo hue and banh canh were very enticing to me; those would've been great options on a cold night as well. Prices were reasonable ranging from 12-16$ based on size. We ordered a small and medium; instantly regretted not getting a bigger size though because I def could have eaten more. Broth was darker than normal. Nothing stood out about the broth, but it was pretty spice-forward and still very much hit the spot. They surprisingly loaded up on the meat; I've never had this much meat in my bowl of pho at any other restaurants. The noodles were also cooked perfectly! Realistically I probably wouldn't come back here as often if my other usual spots were open, but I'm especially grateful they were welcoming during holiday hours. I noticed that the banh xeo and some other dishes were cheaper than other places though, so maybe I'll return for that. CASH ONLY.
