Yummmmmm! We had a group of 13, the owners were so nice and were able to accommodate us in her little restaurant. We just landed in Montreal so we were tired and hungry! Our favorite were the dumplings. The noodle soups were fantastic as well.

Have to say, some of the best Chinese fare we have had in a long time! Restaurant is understaffed so dinner took a while to get to us, I saw that happening at other tables also. You know what? IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! We had a hand pulled noodle soup, cucumber salad, another noodle dish with spicy pork and hand made beef dumplings that were pan fried. EVERYTHING WAS STELLAR! The photo does not do the food justice! Do not pass on this place! Humbly submitted, Moi

Food was good and authentic but service was HORRIBLE! Credit card machine down. Didn't tell us until it was time to pay. Charged more than the exchange rate so we paid $25 more than would should've! Never eating here again!

Was looking for both noodles and dumplings and stumbled upon lotus bleu when the line next door to another restaurant was way too long. Lotus Bleu was serene, delicious, and a taste of home. I went for the waitresses suggestion of La pi and it was my favorite dish, especially for a summer day. We got the lamb noodles and shrimp, chive, pork dumplings. Highly recommend!!

Mushrooms, noodles and soybeans- not listed was the soup. 5 star - perfect meal.

Wow! The food here was some of our favorite anywhere. The prices were great and I look forward to returning.

Overall: Lovely spot for hand-pulled noodles in Montreal's Chinatown! Lots of tables, fast service. We had a very heartwarming conversation with the restaurant manager. Value: 10/10. One 'small' bowl of noodles is around $12 CAD ($9 USD)!! The portion is generous; definitely enough for one person. Taste: 10/10. The noodles feel handmade and are flavorful on their own; I got the width 6 which was perfect as a fan of wider/thicker noodles. The broth is delicious (as is the tea! so cozy for a Montreal night). This place is so underrated. I am kind of frustrated that if you search "noodles" in Google from a bit further away, this place doesn't even show up so so many people are missing out on this wonderful place. We originally planned to go to the place next door which is Lanzhou noodle. It is this one waitress trying to do cashier, serving, wiping tables and seating customers. Literally impossible. I left after waiting 15 mins and could barely get a table. This place is the complete opposite. The service is phenomenal. The lady is super attentive (pouring water, get takeout box, get extra bowls all by observing) and recommends good dishes. The food is also so good. Henan and Xi'An and Lanzhou are all next to each other in China. Henan noodle is with the Lanzhou like soup base and Xi'An like noodles which are more thick and like blankets. The difference is in the hot sauce. The Henan ones are slightly darker and tastes a bit more like peppercorn. Different but good. A lot of people who are not from China only know Lanzhou and Xian noodles but actually Hunan noodles are just as good and just super underrated. You are missing out if you come here instead of the surprisingly super highly overrated next door spot and you got to try a Chinese regional cuisine which is a lot more unique and harder to find in North America.

Probably the only restaurant in Montreal serving steamed noodles. So glad to find it. Not the most tasty one I have had but I know how much time it takes to make steam noodles if they make them the original way. So they are still decent. Especially if you have never tried! A safe choice is their soup noodles, all hand made. A little bit oily but good overall. Recommend!

overall this restaurant is very good. i've been here twice now and had the Jiajiang mian and beef noodle soup. Both times i was very satisfied with the service and the food. you also get to customize your noodle thickness which is cool. the broth of the beef noodle soup is especially very good!

Simple Henan chinese cuisine that's tasty and inexpensive. I decided to check it out because the nearby noodle soup spot was packed. They do serve pretty similar dishes. The seating was comfortable and service was good. We got the lamb noodle soup, and the wontons in chicken soup. The soups are mild and comforting, I would definitely come back in the winter. One issue is they don't have air conditioning, so when you're drinking hot soup in the hot summer it may not be so fun. Do check it out soon because the turnover of restaurants in this certain spot is really fast.

The Long Version: My husband and I had dinner here and we really enjoyed it. I initially was going to get their soup dumplings (their specialty), but when I looked at the menu, I saw that they had Laksa ($18.99), so I couldn't resist ordering that instead. My husband prefers pan-fried dumplings over soup dumplings, so he got the pork and mushroom dumplings ($14.50) and there was a $1.99 surcharge for pan-frying (the base price is for steamed). My Laksa was huge and delicious. The broth was so rich with coconut milk and a bit spicy. It was really flavourful. The noodles had a nice chew to them. The soup also contained some decent-sized shrimp, velvetized sliced chicken, cubes of tofu and a boiled egg. I wished it had some vegetables in though because I felt very unhealthy eating just starch and protein, lol. I did enjoy it though ;) I had one of my husband's dumplings and it was good. It had ground pork in it and chopped up mushrooms. There was a slight gingery taste to it. I liked it and my husband liked them too. Service was very pleasant. The server refilled our waters regularly and I like that the water had ice in it and was very cold. The restaurant is not too large and has seating on a main level then up a few steps they have 4 more tables of 4 by the front window. We walked there from our hotel, but as with pretty much all businesses in The Plateau it's street parking only. Review #209 (2025)

All 3 were freshly made & ready for pickup in 10 minutes. Dumplings were soft, delicate & the peanut sauce was amazing. Appetizer size portions were inexpensive and once we started eating, I almost placed a 2nd order as it was outstanding.

Amazing Chinese food…read more Crowded with an all Chinese clientele - and all young people to boot. That is almost always an excellent sign. Very few American-Chinese//Canadian-Chinese dishes on the menu - though they exist. This may be a regional Chinese restaurant but I do not recognize the region. One visit and three dishes convinced me I have to go back rather than just eating around town. In the not to be missed department: Mushrooms fried in egg yolk. These are the most interesting fried mushrooms you will ever have. They are also the richest fried mushrooms you will ever have. You will adore every single bite - and if you are lucky you can eat 1/3 of a serving before being totally full. I believe the trick here is that the batter is 100 percent egg yolk no white no nothing else. They also do a salt and pepper tofu that is creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside. How often do you see that? Braised seafood in ginger and garlic is the same dish you see in many other Chinese establishments but is lovely here. The squid is tough but the ginger is to die for. I am eager to get back. * * * * P.S. I DID get back. We ordered five more dishes. The amazingness quotient continues. Don't miss their fried spareribs.

LOL. Portions are family style so bring a group with you to share. Salt and Pepper Pork Chop - easily the best dish, great crunch and great flavor. Snow peas sautéed with Garlic was clean, fresh and crunchy. Garlic flavor wasn't overly done. Beef Stew over Baby Bok Choy was tender and beefy. The Baby Bok Choy was hidden underneath in my picture, but it was there. There was also beef tendons as well which I always enjoy. Salt and Pepper Squid was a huge portion and similar to Pork, very crunchy. This was a huge portion. Got seated right away in a packed restaurant on a Friday evening. I was expecting a more flavored experience and maybe that is not what they do or I could have ordered differently. The menu is huge so it is hard to know where to start. We went here because of the good Yelp reviews. Were we arrived in Chinatown there were many other places that looked great, so we loitered at the door for a minute while deciding what to do. As we loitered a family came out and noticed us and asked if were were going to Keung Kee. We said we were thinking about it and they said just go, it is the best restaurant in Chinatown. Sold. We went in, up the stairs, waited a bit, and got a table. This is the kid of place you need to bring a lot of people because that is whet it is built for, the menu is extensive, and the portions are huge. We puzzled over the menu then ordered our food. We wanted a bottle of cold sake and the waiter brought it in an ice bucket. Nice. We started with the pork dumplings. The dumplings were very goof but came in a hot thick sweet peanut sauce. With a lighter sauce these would have been outstanding. The scallop was huge and had a bunch of stuff on it. There was some good scallop flavor but it was masked with all the stuff that tasted like old oil. The noodle dish was good but also had some old oil flavor coming from somewhere. All the meats and vegetables were nice and fresh but the good sauce I think was the source of the oil. We saw a table next to us had the pork chops and was asked, what are those? So we got that too. The chops were thin bone in with a batter fried then soaked in a vinegar sauce. These would have been good as our only item with a bowl of rice. Our co-eaters there had many good looking things. I would give this a try again but would bring a few more people so we could try more stuff. Total for all that including the sake was $100 Canadian. Not bad!
