    Inside the fish dumplings
    Jennifer P.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Dumplings restaurant in Chinatown. Quick service. Tasty dumplings. More variety of flavours than other dumpling places around. The Long Version: My husband and I had lunch at Oh Dumplings and it was very good. I got the fish and coriander dumplings ($14.99). I have never seen fish dumplings on the menu at a dumplings shop before, so I had to try it. My husband hates coriander/cilantro, so we didn't share our meals this time. He took the opportunity to also get items I wouldn't like, lol. He got a lamb skewer ($2.99) and a ginger chicken dish that was filled with onions and bean sprouts ($14.99). Haha. I enjoyed the fish dumplings, but the texture was a bit gummy. I was hoping for a more flakey texture. There was no fishy smell, so I was happy about that. There was a strong cilantro flavour. I'm indifferent towards cilantro but I noticed it was very pronounced. My husband enjoyed the lamb skewer and his ginger chicken dish. It looked like mostly onions to me :/ I did have a taste of a piece of chicken and it was flavourful, but I would have been unhappy with the dish since I hate onions. Lol. Service was courteous and efficient. Decor is casual. The washroom is incredibly tiny. Review #77 (2025)

I had the fish coriander dumplings here. It is my favourite and I didn't see other place offer this kind of dumplings. They had a renovation so the environment is good. The service was OK, and the welcome was not so warm. The food was good so I will come back.

We loved loved this place. Came here to eat when we were visiting Montreal . This restaurant is located inside the Chinatown. It's always great to see what are you about to eat is freshly made. The fresh made dumplings tasted so delicious. We had fish dumplings + pork and cabbage dumplings. Also ordered crispy chicken. Wonton soup. Chinese beer and scallion pancake. This is a very popular spot , the tables feels up pretty fast . Parking is very limited since you can't really park inside Chinatown.

There is no better dumpling in Chinatown. Nobody comes close. And the service is fast.

This places food is really good. We got the sweet and sour chicken (general Tao on menu) and the pork and cabbage dumplings. The food took a bit to get to us but overall was pretty worth the wait (20 ish minutes) The general Tao was absolutely drowned in sauce, so beware when ordering. The steamed rice was nice and overall was a nice meal. I recommend.

Our food only arrived after 35 minutes of waiting Spinach dumplings looked cool but were flavourless. I did not try the pork and cabbage dumplings myself as I am a pescatarian but my friend did not enjoy them. Mapo tofu was tasteless- neither spicy nor numbing and only slightly salty. The orange fish was okay but nothing special. Portion sizes for all the dishes were pretty good. The waitresses working there were rude and dismissive. Not to mention, the store owner forced us to tip despite having received terrible service.

I ordered noodle size #5, and the texture was just so-so--it didn't have the chewiness I was looking forward to, which was a bit disappointing. I also found the beef to be underwhelming. The slices were very thin, which can be nice in some cases, but here they felt a bit lacking in substance and didn't have much texture or flavor. It ended up being just okay and didn't add much to the overall dish. I ordered a medium bowl, but the portion was quite large--definitely more than I expected. A small would have been enough for me, so keep that in mind when ordering. We arrived around 8:30 pm and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The service was pretty good overall, and the staff was attentive without being overbearing.

The hand pulled noodles here are so good. My partner and I got the small bowls (braised beef and lamb noodle soups), but the portions are HUGE. Highly recommend going for noodle style 6 (thickest, more chewy) or 4. We also got the pork and cabbage dumplings, which are super juicy. This meal was very filling; we could've done without the dumplings, but they're too good to pass up. Service was ok since only one person was handling most FOH procedures. Atmosphere was also fine. It was just really warm, even with the multiple fans running (open doors, no AC), but it was to be expected with the pots of noodles cooking in the front. The Long Version: My husband and I had dinner here and we really enjoyed it. I initially was going to get their soup dumplings (their specialty), but when I looked at the menu, I saw that they had Laksa ($18.99), so I couldn't resist ordering that instead. My husband prefers pan-fried dumplings over soup dumplings, so he got the pork and mushroom dumplings ($14.50) and there was a $1.99 surcharge for pan-frying (the base price is for steamed). My Laksa was huge and delicious. The broth was so rich with coconut milk and a bit spicy. It was really flavourful. The noodles had a nice chew to them. The soup also contained some decent-sized shrimp, velvetized sliced chicken, cubes of tofu and a boiled egg. I wished it had some vegetables in though because I felt very unhealthy eating just starch and protein, lol. I did enjoy it though ;) I had one of my husband's dumplings and it was good. It had ground pork in it and chopped up mushrooms. There was a slight gingery taste to it. I liked it and my husband liked them too. Service was very pleasant. The server refilled our waters regularly and I like that the water had ice in it and was very cold. The restaurant is not too large and has seating on a main level then up a few steps they have 4 more tables of 4 by the front window. We walked there from our hotel, but as with pretty much all businesses in The Plateau it's street parking only. Review #209 (2025)

I was expecting a more flavored experience and maybe that is not what they do or I could have ordered differently. The menu is huge so it is hard to know where to start. We went here because of the good Yelp reviews. Were we arrived in Chinatown there were many other places that looked great, so we loitered at the door for a minute while deciding what to do. As we loitered a family came out and noticed us and asked if were were going to Keung Kee. We said we were thinking about it and they said just go, it is the best restaurant in Chinatown. Sold. We went in, up the stairs, waited a bit, and got a table. This is the kid of place you need to bring a lot of people because that is whet it is built for, the menu is extensive, and the portions are huge. We puzzled over the menu then ordered our food. We wanted a bottle of cold sake and the waiter brought it in an ice bucket. Nice. We started with the pork dumplings. The dumplings were very goof but came in a hot thick sweet peanut sauce. With a lighter sauce these would have been outstanding. The scallop was huge and had a bunch of stuff on it. There was some good scallop flavor but it was masked with all the stuff that tasted like old oil. The noodle dish was good but also had some old oil flavor coming from somewhere. All the meats and vegetables were nice and fresh but the good sauce I think was the source of the oil. We saw a table next to us had the pork chops and was asked, what are those? So we got that too. The chops were thin bone in with a batter fried then soaked in a vinegar sauce. These would have been good as our only item with a bowl of rice. Our co-eaters there had many good looking things. I would give this a try again but would bring a few more people so we could try more stuff. Total for all that including the sake was $100 Canadian. Not bad!
