The food is incredible!! 5 stars!!! Nothing else is 5 stars: the ambiance, the service, the cleanliness. I learned about this Restaurant Beijing on a food tour- our guide said she and her family would visit here weekly for dinner! I can see why- the food is delicious! The menu is vast so everyone can find something. The gals at the front counter had a lovely, vibrant energy! The male servers could take a lesson from them. I understand it's always busy but a smile and a "Bonjour" would be the bare minimum. And there wasn't even that. The bathrooms were atrocious. Use the hand sanitizer at the front counter. You pay at the front... otherwise you're just sitting there.

Food is Great!, Service is Excellent! Ambience Very good too! Came thinking I was just gonna be fine with the food and instead I was surprised with the service and ambience as well! I really recommend this place here in Montreal Canada if you ever visit

The food/taste is relatively the same as before the pandemic, however, the portion sizes have been significantly reduced. The service was standard, maybe a tad over the top as they kept coming to check up on us a bit too often. Overall, it's still the same cozy and comfortable feel you will get from a Chinese restaurant, I just wish that it will go back to not skimping over the proteins and making the portions a bit more balanced

Love this place! Been coming here since the early 90's with my family, this location and Mais last location. Was so happy to take my husband here. Best Chinese food ever!! Now that I visited Montreal and ate at her restaurant, I will not be able to have Chinese food until I come back to Montreal lol The Chinese food in Florida is just not the same. I have not been able to find a place better than this.

Service: 5* Taste: 5* Price: 4* Location: 4* Ambience: 3* Had an early dinner after wandering Montreal. We had hot and sour soup, Imperial Shrimp, Kung Pao chicken, and Thai crispy noodles with seafood. The shrimp dish had ample shrimp, but was bland. Once we added some soy sauce and chili oil, it was good. Kung Pao was okay, again under-flavored. The crispy noodle dish was a star, good flavor and great texture contrasts between the juicy seafood and crispy noodles. The hot and sour soup was the bomb. Well seasoned, well flavored, and just the right amount of spice. We ordered the house red (picture attached), it was good and tasty. We would return when in the area again.

Need a quick bite after hours or after night clubbing? What else can you ask for? This Chinese restaurant has been a local staple for many years. Found in the main alley way at the heart of Montreal 's Chinatown, this place is often packed where waiting times are short. We ordered the savory Shanghai's sizzling beef on a hot plate and the "Ying and "Yang" combo of steam rice with chicken and shrimp. (Unfortunately, I forgot what the sauces were). Not bad...and affordable! Parking on the street or public parking $-$$$

Very centrally located Chinese restaurant with friendly service. Went for the large oysters and they were ok and a bit overcooked for my tasting. Went there early evening (empty place) and service still took a bit of time. Decided for take out at the end. Their menu is extensive with many options and they stay open late. Will try other stuff next time.

Went here while traveling in Montreal, it's a solid place to get some Chinese food. Not the greatest, but definitely solid. I found some of the dishes had different ingredients than what I am typically used to in this type of food. For example, the choice of veggies in the Kung Pao chicken is a little different. Not a problem, just interesting. Service was solid as well. I recommend this place if you're out at night and craving some Chinese food, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Great, fast paced restaurant in Montreal's chinatown. It was busy, but we were seated immediately. Ordered Crispy Peking Duck with pancakes- it was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. After it was brought to the table , it was returned to the kitchen for the breasts and thighs to be cut up and the remaining duck to be used in a vegetable dish. The price was right and the servers were bustling. Loved it!

Vegetables weren't washed properly -- had quite a bit of sand in each piece
    Selena C.

Was visiting the area and wanted some chinese food and we thought this would be okay. It wasn't that great. The restaurant was mostly empty and food seemed really greasy. But we were tourists and pretty hungry after a lot of walking around the city and exploring so we did eat it. The vegetables were not washed properly. There was sand settlement at the bottom of the plate when the vegetables were moved around. We had to rinse some florets in a bowl of water to make sure we weren't seeing things. We complained to the server who didn't seem to acknowledge that at first, and then finally gave us a new plate of other vegetables but with a side of attitude. Wouldnt recommend for tourists. They were happily having a conversation with a large table next to us (which I assumed were regulars there).

Shrimp in XO sauce with a side of rice (corn and cheese soup pictured as well)
    Yumi K.

We ordered the corn chicken soup and the shrimp in XO sauce. The soup was sweet and delicious and tasted very authentic - we really felt it was warm and comforting. The shrimp in XO sauce was decent with a little kick but nothing to write home about. Our meal came with tea, which we really enjoyed as well. The interior is older but feels like a hole in the wall, which I appreciate. The service is pretty typical for an authentic Chinese restaurant and ordering is done by writing down your items on a order slip after you sit down.

We were craving some late night eats after a night out at Beer Festival. Perfect how Chinatown is just around the corner. There were three restaurant still open on a late Thursday evening but we settled on Beijing. I've been here at least once or twice back in the day. Menu is typical Chinese style with 225 options. There's also some specials plastered along the walls in English, French and Chinese characters. Service is fast and our food followed quickly. - Beef chow ho (#196) ($10.95) - a staple but you can never go wrong ordering it. Satisfying. - Sweet & sour chicken with ginger ($13.95) - more sweet than sour, this is pretty much Chinese Canadian style. Average. - Young chow fried rice (#169) ($9.95) - good wok hay. Don't expect anything special but it's perfect for late night eats. Open till 3:00am!

I ordered noodle size #5, and the texture was just so-so--it didn't have the chewiness I was looking forward to, which was a bit disappointing. I also found the beef to be underwhelming. The slices were very thin, which can be nice in some cases, but here they felt a bit lacking in substance and didn't have much texture or flavor. It ended up being just okay and didn't add much to the overall dish. I ordered a medium bowl, but the portion was quite large--definitely more than I expected. A small would have been enough for me, so keep that in mind when ordering. We arrived around 8:30 pm and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The service was pretty good overall, and the staff was attentive without being overbearing.

However, the payment experience was not good. He quoted the total as 70 CAD and told us that was 62 USD since we said we had USD. When we calculated it ourselves, it came out to 49 USD. After we pointed that out, he claimed the "foreign transaction fees go up and down with inflation," which didn't make sense. It felt like we were almost being overcharged. I initially was going to get their soup dumplings (their specialty), but when I looked at the menu, I saw that they had Laksa ($18.99), so I couldn't resist ordering that instead. My husband prefers pan-fried dumplings over soup dumplings, so he got the pork and mushroom dumplings ($14.50) and there was a $1.99 surcharge for pan-frying (the base price is for steamed). My Laksa was huge and delicious. The broth was so rich with coconut milk and a bit spicy. It was really flavourful. The noodles had a nice chew to them. The soup also contained some decent-sized shrimp, velvetized sliced chicken, cubes of tofu and a boiled egg. I wished it had some vegetables in though because I felt very unhealthy eating just starch and protein, lol. I did enjoy it though ;) I had one of my husband's dumplings and it was good. It had ground pork in it and chopped up mushrooms. There was a slight gingery taste to it. I liked it and my husband liked them too. Service was very pleasant. The server refilled our waters regularly and I like that the water had ice in it and was very cold. As we loitered a family came out and noticed us and asked if were were going to Keung Kee. We said we were thinking about it and they said just go, it is the best restaurant in Chinatown. Sold. We went in, up the stairs, waited a bit, and got a table. This is the kid of place you need to bring a lot of people because that is whet it is built for, the menu is extensive, and the portions are huge. We puzzled over the menu then ordered our food. We wanted a bottle of cold sake and the waiter brought it in an ice bucket. Nice. We started with the pork dumplings. The dumplings were very goof but came in a hot thick sweet peanut sauce. With a lighter sauce these would have been outstanding. The scallop was huge and had a bunch of stuff on it. There was some good scallop flavor but it was masked with all the stuff that tasted like old oil. The noodle dish was good but also had some old oil flavor coming from somewhere. All the meats and vegetables were nice and fresh but the good sauce I think was the source of the oil. We saw a table next to us had the pork chops and was asked, what are those? So we got that too. The chops were thin bone in with a batter fried then soaked in a vinegar sauce. These would have been good as our only item with a bowl of rice. Our co-eaters there had many good looking things. I would give this a try again but would bring a few more people so we could try more stuff. Total for all that including the sake was $100 Canadian. Not bad!
