We came on a Sunday evening, and surprisingly, the place was completely empty--not a single customer inside. Honestly, I would have left, but my husband was too hungry. We both ordered the "Delight Mix," which is supposed to be a variety of meats. Unfortunately, the meat didn't even taste like meat, and everything was covered in what seemed like barbecue sauce. That was especially disappointing because when you think of Middle Eastern cuisine, those kinds of sauces just aren't typical or authentic. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience.

It was just over oily and honestly didn't have much flavor. The pita bread was amazing and that was the star of the show. The staff were very nice to take the hummus off and brought us extra bread since we enjoyed it. Some of my friends got a hanger steak, a burger, and the artichoke pita. Burgers were underwhelming but the artichoke pita was amazing. The restaurant was also very hot during the entire meal. It felt like there was no airflow. Indoor seating was closed and they were only seating people outside at the moment. If you don't like dinning outdoors, avoid this place in the mid afternoons. Staff was friendly but asked us to give them a good Google review and brought out a QR code to scan. I don't really do Google reviews and said I'm only on Yelp. They said that Yelp isn't owned by them and reviews may not be accurate but they seem to be doing well on Yelp. Felt a little off putting. Food was mediocre and quite pricey, nothing to write home about. Komma Pikilla- was a platter of different dips. My least favorite was Lady Pink, very floral. Pita bread was average. Turkish Adana Kebab- lamb and beef grounded together. Came with roasted tomatoes, shishoto pepper and red onions; lined with a thin pita. Paired with Crete Feta Dip (also came in the Komma Pikilla). Very helpful and he explained all the dishes and was a good advocate for the restaurant. The salatim trio, the persian cucumber, and steak shawarma hummus & pita (one of everyone's favorites) were all great. The local fish ceviche was very good as was the feta & pistachio. For main meals we tried the branzino (2). Also the braised beef short rib was excellent (hearty and moist) and the double cut lamb chop was cooked perfectly. It was a fun evening for sure - the tarp above us keep spilling water near the table (not on anyone) and we had fun with it.

For years, I had always passed-up the Poseidon on Washington Av. in South Beach,…read morethinking it was too much of an upscale restaurant for my social bracket. But, when I saw they were advertising a Lamb Gyro for $12 (Tuesdays), I took the leap. Seems it wasn't that far to jump. Although there were table cloths, cloth napkins and silverware, with room for a true dining experience, the fan sitting atop the bar, (blowing-off more air than necessary), and the plastic plants on the walls/ceilings threw-off any pretense I had of the place. When I requested the Lamb Gyro, the server pointed to an entree on the menu for me to approve. I made sure there wasn't another (re: pricier) offer. There was... it was the one he suggested. The gyro itself consisted of a bland (Tzatziki?) sauce that struggled to find my taste buds. Lamb (typically) has a gamey/slightly sweet flavor; these cuts seemed to be found from behind their refrigerator, (not from inside). They certainly weren't cut fresh from a spit, as they were old and nearly tasteless. The included slices of onion and peppers, delegated to the pita bottom, (instead of intermingling) barely helped. The French fries (included in the price) were the most flavorful part of the meal; although, they were an insult, rather than accompaniment to the experience. And, was that Latin (instead of traditional Greek) music coming from the speakers? Along with a 20% "Administrative" fee, I won't be tempted to venture in again.
