Came here around 2:30pm on a Friday as we had just landed in Miami and this restaurant seemed so good on Yelp near our hotel. Very quiet, only 1 other table of 2 was seated. Indoor seating was closed and they were only seating people outside at the moment. If you don't like dinning outdoors, avoid this place in the mid afternoons. Staff was friendly but asked us to give them a good Google review and brought out a QR code to scan. I don't really do Google reviews and said I'm only on Yelp. They said that Yelp isn't owned by them and reviews may not be accurate but they seem to be doing well on Yelp. Felt a little off putting. Food was mediocre and quite pricey, nothing to write home about. Komma Pikilla- was a platter of different dips. My least favorite was Lady Pink, very floral. Pita bread was average. Turkish Adana Kebab- lamb and beef grounded together. Came with roasted tomatoes, shishoto pepper and red onions; lined with a thin pita. Paired with Crete Feta Dip (also came in the Komma Pikilla). This restaurant accommodated our large group of 20 and I must say that I was impressed with EVERYTHING they sent over. Service was wonderful and the patio was classy and breezy. The tables were set up and ready for us as soon as we got there, and food came out right after we ordered drinks. Cocktails/mocktails: Our group had a bunch of both, and they were all very good. I'm partial to mezcal drinks, so I really liked their options on that. The mocktail group really liked the lychee mocktail, though some found it too sweet. Hummus/dips sampler platter: All of the hummus was good--my favorite was surprisingly the beet (I don't actually think this was hummus). It was lightly sweet and beet-fragrant, and I honestly ate it on its own because it was so good. Pita was also toasty and made just right. Ground meat kabobs: I didn't want to butcher the name, so I just left it with the description. They were like little meatballs, which were a bit dense. I actually wish they were slightly bigger in the hopes that it wouldn't be as firm after being cooked, but flavor was great. Chicken kabobs: This is chicken breast meat, and it was incredibly tender and juicy. Usually I avoid this dish as most places make it dry and not very good, but Komma made it perfectly--we had around 4 giant dishes of this and it was done well every time. Grilled vegetables: You can't go wrong with grilled vegetables, assuming it was cooked through. This was, and it actually paired well with our leftover dips/hummus. Dessert platter: The lava cake was a giant favorite, as well as the baklava. To be fair, the baked rice pudding was also good, but I thought it was a bit plain. I generally prefer middle eastern baklava and Indian kheer though, so it's definitely just a preference thing. My fiance was wildly into their other dessert, which was some sort of custard wrapped in phyllo. Basically, everyone liked at least one or more of all the desserts. Go with what your taste buds usually like and you won't be disappointed. Our giant group waddled out the restaurant satiated and incredibly happy. In an effort to avoid the party crowd and eat somewhere a little more quiet, I found this place not too far away from the beach. From the outside, it doesn't look like there is outdoor dining. However, the outdoor seating is actually surrounded by walls of greenery and a clear view of the sky during good weather. During bad weather, they extend the retractable roof. Indoor seating is available as well. Upon entering, there are two sparkling water bottles in every open table. These are not complimentary. They do provide complimentary hummus and bread. I ended up ordering the Grilled Branzino (Mediterranean). It tasted delicious and you can add pepper and salt (in grinder) if desired. My meal tasted delicious although I did find a few bones in my fish. The overall ambiance was excellent with the decor, view of the night sky, music, and occasional singing. The only bad part was its closeness to a busy road. Just a note that a service fee is automatically added to your check. This would be an excellent place for dinner if you want a break from the hustle and bustle of the beach crowd. I wouldn't mind coming back again. read more

this place is definitely for tourist. It was pretty empty when we went. I tried to park at the place right next to it called Queen and they tried to charge me $30 for valet and on a Thursday night. I enjoyed my meal and service at Kómma, but the menu was terribly overpriced. I ordered scallops, lemon potatoes, and one cocktail and walked out paying over $100. In most cases I want to enjoy not only the food but the ambiance and the character of a restaurant, but Kómma's flow was that of tables and chairs, nothing else. They have an outdoor seating area but it was cramped and narrow...to the point that the back of your chair would likely touch the person behind you when you got up to leave. I got the impression Kómma was trying to fit all of their tables outside. Kómma was conveniently located across the street from my hotel, The Goodtime Hotel, see my Yelp review. Four stars for our wonderful server and the killer ambiance. The outdoor dining experience here is lovely and our server was so helpful and friendly. They even had belly dancers when we were there on a Friday! The food, however, is pretty eh, imo. Very few vegetarian options unless you want pasta. And everything is very pricey for the quality. I paid $15 for a dip and it didn't even come with pita. I was still hungry so ordered some $15 truffle fries. They vaguely reminded me of McDonald's fries. Don't get me wrong - I love McDonald's fries. But maybe not at this type of restaurant for this price. On the whole a fairly nice experience because of the setting. Was a little dissapointed with this restaurant as I had better expectations however I should have realized that is south beach which means touristy if you know what I mean. The restaurant atmosphere is absolutely beautiful, the outside seating is great as they have a retractable sunroof. Fridays and Saturdays does have a belly dancer which is great and fun. The drinks were okay presentation on the drinks was good , however for a simple drink the delivery time was quite long for a restaurant that was not busy whatsoever. Servers were still ok not sure if there was a language barrier or anything however they were not really friendly or helpful. Food was were things went south everyone in my party of 10 ordered very different things from the menu and everyone somehow managed to not like it to say the least the lamb chops were very dry , the salmon was delivered cold and nothing really stood out as far as the food. The little patio area that's sheltered by greenery with an automatic roof was a fantastic little recluse from the craziness of South Beach - which is funny because someone was getting arrested right outside the restaurant. The servers were all very nice and accommodating, the food was just ranged from mediocre to not great. I came with my middle eastern family who had high hopes, and all they did was complain about the food. They even lacked basic Mediterranean options like shawarma, tabouleh, and fatoush. We ordered the mhamara, hummus, lebnah, Greek salad, kefta, chicken, and lamb and I think a few other things, but not a dish was really that good for the native tongue. We were recommended to come here by someone who came years ago when the restaurant was called someone else, but it appears there was a change where the prices increased and the food went down hill. We loved the happy hour drinks and appetizers. We had two drinks each and they were both great. One drink was the Apersol and the other was Quite a pickle. We also had the pita and hummus platter as well the calamari. The calamari was the best I've had in Miami . Also the staff was very friendly and accommodating as soon as we walked in. So we definitely thought dinner would have been phenomenal since we started off so good. Well we were sadly disappointed with our dinner and took a long time to come. Everyone was so kind and welcoming and warm! The ladies at the check in station took photos with enthusiasm for me. They didn't hesitate to make it fun. The food! OMG! The food! I couldn't decide what to order because everything looked incredible. I started with a greek salad. When I went to Greece I felt like pure sunshine was inside the veggies in the salad and here in Miami I had the same experience. I can tell everything was fresh. I followed with the salmon and opted for lemon potatoes. Oh goodness I danced eating each bite! Danced! So flavorful. Perfectly cooked. Well seasoned. Bright, fresh. Beautiful. The cocktail I had which is pictured I unfortunately can not remember the name but it has lychee and maybe you can show the photo if you want to try it. It was so so so good! I had a cocktail to start that came with a little magic moment (I won't ruin it for you! You must experience) and with my meal I had a refreshing crisp glass of white wine it was a Greek wine! Perfection. If I didn't have plans I would've stayed so much longer because the ambiance is so divine. This is ideal to eat alone (I did and felt totally comfortable), a group, a big group, a date, a business meeting-truly any occasion. I'm so glad I saw this restaurant. Our family, party of 8 celebrated my son-in-law's birthday at this restaurant. We made reservations at around 4 for 8pm on a Saturday and all went smoothly. The beautifully decorated arched entrance is accessible from the street corner with hanging colorful mosaic lamps that transported us across the Atlantic to the Mediterranean Sea. The hostess asked if we preferred a rectangular or round table outside, and we chose the round in the middle of the outdoor space. The music was authentic, upbeat and set at a volume that was perfect to enjoy and not interfere with our conversations. The staff was welcoming, the appetizers were exquisite, the food tasty and the desserts divine. For the birthday boy, they added a sparkler which was impressive which was very nice. The restroom in need of a little tlc, is located a bit far from the outdoor sitting area which gave me a chance to take in the well planned interior and vibe. There were some guests seated at tables in the indoor bar area but for the most part it was empty. I assume it was intentional due to the current pandemic protocols. When it was time to pay, our server explained their credit card system was down. Our choices were to leave our cc info to have them run it through later or pay cash. The food is tasty and fresh, though slightly on the saltier side tonight. My friends got there before me. The hostess said they could not seat us without the whole party present. So my friends a called me and as I was running late I told them I'll cancel and they should seat without me - I'll catch up with them another time. They proceeded to sit my friends with an oversized table, prompting my friends to call back and say come anyway. This made me later as I already turned around. When I got there the place was not even half capacity. So quite a silly policy in my opinion. The food came out pretty fast. I liked our server, but my friends felt he was hard to understand and spoke to fast. He could have been more attentive in passing by, but when he was around he brought great energy with him. I think perhaps they were a bit short staffed that night. Prices are on the higher end, but you are paying for a Miami Beach restaurant and a nice indoor or outdoor area. The food was all quality; I particularly always enjoy their grilled pepper that comes with the kebabs. The octopus was fresh and cooked right as was the kebabs. Tonight was definitely an off night for Kómma. Most of their staff was let go because of the weather. There was no bartender. Understaffed or no, they still managed to serve me a decent meal. The Keftedes platter was nothing to write home about but it did the job. In fact it was extremely greasy as if it had been dunked in tons of oil. Since this one dish turned out to be "heavy in the stomach" I didn't have room for more food or other dishes. I'd like to come back for their Greek salad or brunch at some point in time when they are fully staffed and at their best. A+ for Decor & Ambiance. Their chairs were extremely comfortable. Dinner at Kómma is an experience, between the flaming Saganaki, dry ice treasure chest of drinks, and the freshly table-side, chopped ribeye, you come for the show and stay for the food! Ferdinand, our waiter, was charming and friendly. Having just come from Turkey a few months ago, our evening was a full cultural experience as he patiently waited for our newly learned, "Thank You" in Turkish. He made sure that our evening was filled with memorable surprises, starting with the first round of drinks where we were presented with a chest and slowly he submerged his hand into a pool of smoke and drew forth each of the drinks for the table, bringing a smile to everyone's face. As the meal went on the food kept getting better. Each dish did the ingredients justice. The grilled baby eggplant was filled with sweetness from the caramel of slow cooking and balanced by the bitterness of the char. The brandy bathed Saganaki is the most memorable dish that holds up to Ferdinand's showmanship. The buttery fat in the light breading is accented with the touches of fresh lemon and copious parsley. I had the Kómmammara -Fire roasted red peppers, walnuts, pistachios, olive oil, breadcrumbs and garnished with balsamic caviar. While this is a small appetizer, it's rich in texture and depth. I am always pleased to find kitchens experimenting with techniques like creating vegetarian caviar. I ate some of the red pepper dish on the lemon potatoes, the grilled green pepper from the chicken kabob, and on the French baguette that came with the eggplant and as a bread basket at the beginning of the meal. It accented each dish perfectly. For dessert I ordered a Turkish coffee which was bold and heavy in the mouth. The knafeh was the best dessert served with ice cream and prepared table-side sandwiched between the layers of crispy shell and cheese. The baklava was the choice of the table. It was rich layers of Phyllo and pistachios. While this was tasty, go for the knafeh (kunefe) for an unforgettable evening. read more

Unnecessary High end Mediterranean food. 1st- they have no sampler platter and you are to pay over $8 per appetizer Al La carte. The biggest disappointment was the upsell of their "lavash bread" which seemed like flour tortillas. We have had lavash bread before in a variety of restaurants and Mediterranean markets. So when the bill came and saw the $4 charge- I couldn't help but laugh and asked my husband where's the cheese? We could have made quesadillas! The only highlight was the wine- it was a Turkish wine and tasted pretty good; however it was not chilled and we had to place ice in the wine to chill it. It's a beautiful ambiance but that's about it. The appetizers were mediocre and lacked robust flavor such as garlic and herbs. The service was ok- it wasn't busy so not sure what our server was doing half the time. Overall it was a nice experience. However it isn't very authentic at all. They don't even give bread with the hummus or baba ganoush. There is nothing authentic about eating it with a spoon. I went on this Sunday night and as always the food was amazing as the wine and the service. I am so surprised that the restaurant was empty but my server told me that was because it's Sunday night and it was busy earlier. The decor and the ambiance is very pleasant. Komma has recently changed owners/management. It used to be called Babylon. I decided to bring a group of 30 people to try it out. Since first contacting them, they were very prompt to accommodate our large group. They set up a large long table outside, which to me is the best part of the restaurant as its very well decorated, has fans and makes you feel like you are dining in a Mediterranean patio. They offered us different fixed menus options, they have them at $50, $60, $70 and $80. We choose the $60 pre-fixed which included appetizers to share for the table, one main course and dessert to share. Their pitta bread with dips is fresh and tasteful. I particularly ordered the Adana Kebab and it was flavorful, meat cooked to temperature, rice was tasteful and came with yogurt. Everyone in the group got their orders right, the servers were attentive and able to keep separate checks. Overall I highly recommend this place for a large group. read more

While I'd usually tend to be cautious of a restaurant on Ocean Drive at the time of spring breaker crowds, we were looking for an aegean restaurant that could accommodate our Turkish friend visiting. Babylon has an inviting entrance marked with a blue neon sign arched arched over foliage, that opens into a large outdoor space, perfect for both larger groups (note: there was a birthday party in the middle which was clearly accommodated - good idea), or more intimate squads. The perimeter is decorated with blue and Greek architecture that will help transport you for your meal. The waiter was extremely accommodating, to ensure we ordered all the 'right' dishes from the menu - though, there probably wasn't much we could have gone wrong with. We started with the Mousse, Feta Dip (& crostinis), and grilled halloumi. The dip was adorned with balsamic balls that I'd love to figure out how to recreate at home - the perfect touch! The halloumi was a little too salty, but yet, can you ever have TOO much salt? I certainly say the more the merrier. A few items we devoured are not pictured as they were simply eaten just too quick. We then moved onto an item from the grill, the Branzino, and a side of lentil soup just to really do our bellies in. Everything was perfect, the branzino with no bones, and ever so delicately falling off the skin. Everyone was happy with their choices, and though we were full, we couldn't say no to some hot tea and baklava (pistachio!!) to end the night. The baklava is a no brainer - you MUST order it before you leave. It comes with vanilla ice cream, and is so perfectly crisp. I'd call it a turkish croissant if I had to make a comparison. Flakey and sweet. All in all it was a great experience. It is a bit on the pricier side, and it's in a crazy area of town, so not sure how soon we will be back, but I definitely recommend if you're looking for a more elegant aegean cuisine, with a larger crowd, need something kid friendly, want something a little out of the crazy party scene, or are craving a sweet baklava treat. read more

Food was amazing. Very roomy, plenty of seating both inside and outside. Great for couples as well, lights are dimmed at night, candles on the tables etc. Service was top notch as well. Overall, place is quite clean and food is quite remarkable. Loved it! read more

Terrific! Loved having dinner in the pretty, atmospheric garden, with live entertainment from a skilled fire dancer.
