However I would like to see a Cote de Provence Rose wine from France for the price we paid for a coteaux de Provence ($58) as well as better quality meat for the filet au poivre. I came here for a date night. There's free parking in the parking garage adjacent to the building. We made reservations for 8:45 PM. We were sat immediately upon entering. It's a really pretty restaurant. Our server was Chelsea. She was very knowledgeable, amicable and attentive. My fish was delicious and the white sweet potato which I've never tried was very flavorful. We started with the artichokes as an appetizer. I ordered an espresso martini, although small was strong. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse, it was the perfect sampling size and the fresh berries were a nice touch. It is an experience so expect to be there a couple of hours. I would highly recommend and can't wait to return for another special occasion. read more

This was our favorite meal by far while staying in Aventura this week. Incredible service - Chelsea may be one of my favorite servers I've ever had. She truly loves what she does and it shines through in her personality -- enhancing the dining experience. The outside environment was amazing and made it easy to converse with others at our table. And the food was incredible. It was presented well and tasted even better! So so good. I loved it all. From the espresso martini to the Caesar with candied walnuts - to the wild mushrooms. And the sea brean fish with Japanese sweet potato. One item was better than the next. Loved it so much and would definitely want to come back next time I come to Ft. Lauderdale. read more

I had a great meal here. I love that the menu is produce forward, with mushrooms, artichokes, hearts of palm, and more being showcased. The branzino was great, as were the grilled hearts of palm. Put this restaurant at the top of your list if you are dining in Aventura. I've been here multiple times and every single time, I am impressed by how fresh and flavorful every single dish tastes. You can feel the love that was put into each dish. The wasabi Caesar salad is unreal and honestly the regular one is so good too! Every fish dish we've had has been excellent. This last time I had lamb chops but the steaks are great too! So are the desserts. Lovely atmosphere and the staff are so attentive and welcoming. Highly recommend!!! read more

Came to the restaurant this evening with my family and I was very surprised by service when we came in. I had a reservation and they gave us a high top table and I do not like high tops so the manager Franco did his best and changed us quickly to a regular table that started well and definitely made my experience at the restaurant. Much better than service was done by Tony really professional. We ordered a New York strip we ordered a burger a Caesar salad, the traditional one and salmon tiradito. The strip was cooked to perfection, medium rare the burger medium was spectacular. The Caesar salad salad with pinenuts gave it a twist that was really nice and the salmon tiradito was also very good. They have a small wine list, but they have a pretty good selection. The restaurant is small and cozy but all in all it was a very good experience. I will be coming to this place more often as service and food is very good. read more

Miami Spice at Perl This hidden gem of a restaurant in Aventura really surprised us - although the food was good it was the service that truly made this restaurant stand out! The service was EXCEPTIONAL! We were greeted by our server who had been there since the restaurant opened in 2020 and she was so outgoing, warm, and friendly, and truly excited about the food and the menu the restaurant served. She truly took exceptional care of us! If only the food was as good as the service was I'd rate the restaurant 5 stars but unfortunately some of the dishes fell a little flat. The food was very much 50/50 : either the dish was absolutely amazing or just not that great... This was our first time at the restaurant and were excited to try their Miami Spice Menu. We started with the grilled artichoke hearts which was a very simple dish but done very well. The artichokes were perfectly cooked a little crispy and had a great grilled flavor to them that went perfectly with the leek remoulade sauce. It was one of my favorite dishes - it was simple but fresh and full of flavor! Highly recommend! We ordered the beef tenderloin tartare as our second appetizer and was a dish I was really excited to try because i absolutely love tartare dishes. Unfortunately, this dish was just bad it was very disappointing. First of all, presentation was just bad on this dish. Although you know beef tartare is a rare dish or almost raw dish I don't think the dish needed to actually "LOOK" raw and it just looked bad on the plate. It looked like a raw beef burger patty that you picked up from the grocery store which made the dish off putting to eat or try. It didn't help that the beef tartare was round like a raw beef burger patty and the same frozen light pink color that you would see from a raw grocery store burger patty and it was served with a handful of fries so together on the plate it looked like you were getting ready to cook a raw burger at a BBQ and had fries on the plate for it. For such a high end place and for the high end price point they could have done something more elevated with this dish and rethought the presentation. Flavor wise the dish was ok, but not a great dish it, and we didn't finish it. Our server was amazing though and even though we didn't complain about the dish and simply left it she immediately saw we weren't a big fan of the dish and brought out the grouper carpaccio for us to try instead. Now that dish was absolutely DELICIOUS! Not only was the presentation of the dish absolutely beautifully and colorful and reminded you of summer but it was delicious as well and full of flavor. It had a little bit of a kick to it but it was fresh and light and absolutely perfect. I really wish we would have skipped the beef tartare and started with this appetizer instead. For entrees we both ordered the 10 oz hanger steak since it had been a while since we had a good steak and truly it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. 10 out of 10! Highly recommend! The steak was a great size (especially for Miami Spice) and was cooked perfectly medium rare. It was so soft and tender and it melted right in your mouth. It was served with fries and served with just a little bit of sauce on it that went perfectly with the steak. Again for such a nice restaurant, and compared to the rest of the menu, this dish was a very simple dish and wasn't very complex or different but it was a very good dish and executed perfectly. For desert we decided to order both the Miami Spice deserts to try one of each and the deserts fell a little flat here as well - it was 50/50. Although not the biggest fan of matcha... we decided to try the matcha cheesecake anyways but it wasn't to our taste - another dish we took two bites of and didn't finish. The cheesecake had an overpowering amount of matcha flavor to it and we were just not a fan of it, it tasted a little too earthy for our liking. I'm sure if you like matcha you'd enjoy it though. The Japanese ice cream sandwiches were tasted good but were not a wow dessert, they were just ok. It was two small halves of a macaroon looking sandwich filled with ice cream cut in half and served over a black napkin and the ice cream was good but nothing remarkable or special. For the beautiful restaurant we were in I feel like they could have chosen something more creative or beautiful to end the meal with or a desert that had a little more wow factor to it. We just expected a little more for desert to be honest. Overall the restaurant did have a couple of outstanding dishes and the service throughout was absolutely amazing - our server truly made the evening special. read more

This place has become my favorite restaurant in aventura!!! the service and food cant compare to anywhere else. My favorite was the branzino and the mushroom lasagna but i can confidently say anything you order off the menu will taste delicious. Our serve frank guided us through our dinner. If frank suggests ordering anything you must do it! i trust his suggestion blindly. Apart from knowing the menu frank was super attentive and kind. I had been here 1 time before to eat and another just for drink; must say the staff service is extremely welcoming. if you're too full for dessert, no you're not. Gds gift paired with a coffee is worth making the sacrifice of entering a potential food coma. cant recommend a restaurant as strongly as this one! AMAZING 100/10 must try. read more

Easy to find, Moderately busy for a Thursday at 7 PM. Parking was free Valet. Dining room has about 15 tables with more outside. We're reading about the hostess inside of immediately as we had a reservation. Server came over poured his water talked about specials in the menu asked if we had any questions. Do you want to drink drinks my partner ordered bourbon and sour and I have a watermelon lemonade. Both were very good. For appetizers we ordered a Caesar salad and tuna tartare. My Caesar salad was delicious. It could've fed three people. The tuna cha-cha was equally delicious and would recommend these appetizers. Bread basket arrived and the flat bed was my favorite. The salad dressing for the Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever tasted. From main course we ordered tuna, medium-rare on served on a bed of wild mushrooms and a brisket cheeseburger with french fries. Both dishes were cooked perfectly, very tasty and the presentation appealing. We opted not to have dessert or coffee as we were full. Service was OK, considering it was not that busy. Water glass was empty for a long time and her request for additional flat bread had to be asked more than once. Dining room was quite enough to have a conversation with your guests. Was so excited to try Perl on the final evening of Miami Spice. The place has a nice interior and nice outdoor seating area. I was curious to see the rooftop they mentioned was available for private events when we walked in. That would be a great spot for a small company holiday party or even a birthday. Our server was very lovely and knew the menu very well. The only issue was we had asked for tap water but were charged at the end for a bottle of water. Not a huge deal. We started off with their delicious complimentary bread. Then the burrata and ceviche - both were very good with great flavor. We both had the branzino which you could tell was made fresh and the skin was beautifully crisp. The mushrooms and onions were perfect as were the tomatoes and capers. And to complete our delicious meal, we had the chocolate flan cake and the olive oil cake with lemon curd. I can't pick a favorite - they were both divine. Exactly the kind of restaurant I wanted to dine at in Miami when visiting from out of town. Luckily it was spice so we could try a lot of the fare! Focaccia was super yummy I got a watermelon margarita and also tried the caipirinha cocktail both were on the stronger side and super refreshing! Broccoli and mushroom appetizers were simple but tasty. Burrata was my favorite the roasted cherry tomatoes were the perfect compliment to the creamy burrata. Loved the fish on the spice menu I think it was red snapper but I remember it has a delicious crispy skin on the outside and the prime rib was cooked perfectly and definitely a favorite in our party. For dessert we had the olive oil cake and a chocolate cake dessert that were excellent. Our server I wish I could remember her name but she was amazing she was working in the evening on 9/17 on the patio she had such great recommendations attentive service and so knowledgeable with the menu and just really made the experience wonderful! read more

Found this restaurant kind of by accident and it was an absolute delight. We ordered the Watermelon Margarita to start and it was perfect and super fresh. Our waiter asked if we wanted the complimentary bread and it was definitely the highlight of our meal. It was so soft and delicious. We ordered the Tuna Tartare as an appetizer and it was so good. Completely fresh and the avocado crema was a perfect addition. For our entree we ordered the salmon and it had this smoky glaze on it, super tasty. Thank you to Chris and Chelsea for making my bf and I's experience here nothing short of AMAZING. When you come, ask for them because they're great. From you walk in, the place is so cute! It's on the small intimate side. It probably seats under 50 people at a time and that's including the bar seats. There is a modern stone aesthetic to it, even the bathroom is nice to look at it. We started off with the Crispy Maitake Mushroom. A good size for an appetizer, surprisingly. The Yuzu Vinaigrette is tart which I'm not a fan of. For me, my meal consisted of the table side bread which is some of the best I've had and the Bamboo rice. That rice was so aromatic. The Bamboo essence is potent but adds a delicious flavor to the rice and crispy shallots on top. They let us try the Panna Cotta along with the God's Gift for dessert I'll say the God's Gift won for sure. The Nutella croissant with the ice cream was so good. I fell in love with the first bite. The Panna Cotta is very light and lacks sugar but hey, if that's what you're looking for, it wasn't horrible. read more

I can't believe this gem in located in my area 'literally'! It opened up for a little over a year & I just found out about it. It's located in the coolest building that was built & I wondered what was going in there. Well anyway this restaurant is located right in the corner of it & if your not familiar with the area you can miss it! So let's get into my review, I absolutely enjoyed everything about it! The ambiance (thou it can get a little loud for it has high ceilings & for a loud talker it echoes yes we had one next to us) but regardless staff, server totally friendly and food delicious!!! Honestly if I could say anything I would say that the mushroom could've used a little salt depending on your taste, but that's it. Everything was seasoned perfectly, the drinks were fabulous, the hosts and servers were all very attentive. Our water cup never ran dry. You have got to check out the photos I shared. We had an array of things from cauliflower steak to crudos with halibut. And ohh than the dessert which I absolutely knew just from looking at it that it was going to be delicious. Right from the beginning, it felt odd dining west of Biscayne Boulevard. However, it was recommended that I try Perl, and the bread is delicious. Navigating to Perl seemed a little off when I ended up approaching some dwellings, but as I made a quick left turn, it was apparent that we had arrived. But where should we park? I went around the block and discovered that there was a parking garage. There were a few parking spots designated specifically for the Perl restaurant, and luckily, one was available. We ended up walking into a lobby and then had to walk outside a few steps to the entrance to Perl. The modern interior was narrow, and there was limited seating. Because the weather was perfect, we all sat outside. The space was pleasant, with a protective overhang and freestanding tall planter boxes adjacent to the tables. This offered some privacy and blocked the view from the street and the busy shopping center next door. A pleasant server who asked if we would like sparkling water greeted us. We declined and asked for plain water with ice and lemon. The server placed small glasses on our table along with a tall, reusable glass reusable dispenser. We never received our ice, but we were happy to have a basket of amazing focaccia, a few crunchy flat breads, and a small ceramic vessel of delicious dipping oil. My two nieces ordered the tuna bowl lunch special, and I ordered the fish tacos. They served the fish tacos with tostones, which I liked; however, the server told me they were not soft but were actually chips, so I settled for French fries instead. Why not call them plantain chips on the menu? I was told that I would receive three tacos; however, I can order additional tacos. The girls liked the tuna bowl, which was served nicely. The fish on my tacos was tiny, and the taco itself fell apart as you went to take a bite. They lacked flavor, so I asked for some spicy mayo. The French fries were overly crisp and had that heavy oil taste that sits under the roof of your mouth, which I mentioned to the server. The server handed me the check and said that since the French fries were overcooked, the chef took the cost of the water off the bill, totaling six dollars. I was a little dumbfounded since I didn't even know that they charged me for water. I mentioned I had only asked for plain water and had not been told or seen this option on the menu. By the way, I went online to view the menu, and nowhere is it listed on the menus. They served plain water in a reusable glass container. We paid the bill, left the restaurant, and walked to my car. Suddenly, we were approached by the server, who was holding a payment device and voicing loudly that she only charged me for one tuna bowl and not two. It was alarming, however. I paid for the additional tuna bowl. Overall, the restaurant food is just mediocre and is just trying to be very happening at the moment. I was looking forward to having another option in town to go to, but there are just too many others in the neighborhood offering the same items for less, with tastier food. I was disappointed and there is something off with the menu. Unfortunately, I don't see Perl lasting very long. read more

Neighborhood gem, creative dishes, a perfect fit for foodies. The place is modern new. Home bake bread. Any crudo fans will have a feast. We tried the entire crudo menu and all were Amazing. Our server, Kevin was excellent, detail oriented, and his mother makes all the baking. She is amazing!!!!. They are doggy friendly and they have inside and outside seating. Had to ask for bread ( cold /hard) . Before we finished the appetizers, the server said / the mains are ready can I bring them??? When he did bring them. He did not wipe table organize etc and just plopped them down. Had to ask for forks / steak knives etc. Then before we even finished desert he brought the bill. So not cool. The food. I've heard so many good things about this place from more than one friend. I arrive and the hostess seated me and I was there for a bit but my waitress finally arrived by then I had reviewed the entire menu and knew what I wanted. It was Miami Spice 2022 so I ordered from that menu the tuna rice appetizer, the lamb dinner, and the sorbet dessert. From the regular menu I ordered the Kanpachi. Let me say the food is excellent! The kanpachi was so refreshing on a hot South Florida night, no joke. I hear food critics say that and it's true some ingredients can do that on a hot night this dish delivered. For some reason my dinner order was delayed and I got a bite of some cold lamb but they made up for it with a ready and hot plate less than 10 minutes later. Do come here!! It seemed improbable to me that this hidden little gem sitting here on Miami Gardens Dr like some lonely little dwarf star out in the universe could be discovered and be so good. Located in a commercial office/retail building with a giant bird sanctuary as its main center piece the restaurant is smartly outfitted lending to a very nice ambience albeit very loud when the restaurant filled up. So the space could use some sound attenuating panels to quiet the chatter down a bit. But that aside, the food was terrific. I have been less than pleased with my steaks lately from over priced steakhouses and other restaurants. They have not been prime quality no matter what is stated on the menu. Here at Perl was a different story. The prime filet mignones were tender supple and tasty. The mittaki mushroom in Yuzu sauce was beyond amazing, the salmon superb quality expertly cooked, my big eye tuna steak while a tad overcooked was none the less fabulous in its bed of exotic mushrooms. I prefer big eye over ahi. Deserts equally as good. Price wise even better, very reasonable making this place an at least 2 night a week candidate. Don't say that much these days. Prices have gone sky high in what I would call pedestrian restaurants. Here you get a huge bang for your buck due to the quality of the ingredients and the expertise of Chef's cooking. To me it seemed implausible to have such a fine dinning experience in a local unpretentious restaurant so I'm going to have to try it again as soon as possible to make sure it wasn't a one time fluke. (Twist my arm-lol). If you're tired of paying for over priced ho hum food try this place out you won't be disappointed I promise. read more
