Great outdoor patio area! The staff was very friendly and attentive. They provided a stool/chair for purses and bags. I got the cauliflower as an appetizer and it was delicious, nice crisp texture and the tahini sauce was so good I saved it for my fries as well. Skirt steak was good, it was a bit tough but cooked as requested! Large portion of steak and fries. read more

We stayed at Esmé Miami Beach and found out the hotel partners with The Drexel and offers complimentary cocktails for hotel guests. That's how we ended up meeting the bartender, Rene, who made our drinks. The cocktails were excellent and the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. We had a couple of cocktails and then left to take care of some things. Later that evening, around 10 PM, we came back and decided to try the restaurant's signature cocktails and they were fantastic. We were really impressed. My wife absolutely loves the Pavlova dessert, and we simply couldn't resist ordering it, even after 10 PM, if you know what I mean. And it was totally worth it. If you're visiting Miami Beach, especially if you're staying at Esmé Miami Beach or nearby, I definitely recommend stopping by The Drexel and ordering a couple of cocktails (and maybe dessert too). Great drinks, great vibe, and excellent service. Thank you! read more

Great location - happened to be short walk from the hotel! Great food everyone enjoyed - features I liked * homemade pasta! * nice wine list! * attentive service! * great vibe! * the bread! Thanks for a great meal hope we get back again soon! read more

Review for The Drexel - South Beach We stopped at The Drexel for dessert and it was exactly what we needed after dinner on the loud and boisterous Española Way. The atmosphere was quiet, with great service and lovely music. We each had a cappuccino and shared two desserts: the pavlova with strawberries and a chocolate soufflé with vanilla crème anglaise. Both were excellent -- beautifully prepared and delicious. A perfect, relaxing end to the evening! read more

Service is not ideal because like most places in Miami, the service tip is included in the charge so they don't have the incentive to provide an excellent customer service. We sat for long waiting. The only reason we stayed here is because it rained and the neighboring French cafe/restaurant was temporarily closed. read more

If you're looking for the best happy hour in Miami, look no further. You can find it at The Drexel. No matter what you want you are sure to find it among the classic and signature cocktails for only $10. If not, one of the skillful bartenders will be more than willing to accommodate your desires. They also have a decent array of bites to satisfy your hunger as well. I tried the Drexel maragita, which is made with mezcal instead of the typical tequila. The smoky flavor paired with the sweet, crunchy pavlova I ordered for dessert. I'm already dreaming of my next visit. read more

Subject: Feedback Regarding Recent Dining Experience Dear Management Team Last night, my friends kindly took me to your establishment to celebrate my birthday. I want to begin by saying that our waitress was absolutely lovely--attentive, warm, and a pleasure throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience, particularly the food and value, fell far below expectations for your price point. We began with the grilled octopus, priced at $31. When we asked if it was appropriate for sharing, we were told it was. However, what was served was a single, very small piece of octopus on a plate barely larger than a bread dish. This portion was not at all reflective of the price. The carrots were well-portioned and enjoyable, but the main courses were disappointing. Two of us ordered the hanger steak ($54), and both portions were extremely small--far below what would reasonably be expected. The presentation was sparse, served on a large plate with only a small amount of purée and no accompanying garnish or sides. Most concerning, however, was the organic chicken dish ordered by a third guest, which was served undercooked. Upon cutting into it, it was clearly raw inside. This is not just disappointing--it is a serious food safety issue. Additionally, the sides were presented as shareable but were served in very small portions that did not support that claim. To make matters worse, the fire alarm went off four separate times throughout our dinner, repeatedly disrupting the experience. At no point did anyone from the establishment acknowledge the inconvenience or offer even a small gesture--such as a complimentary drink--to make up for the repeated interruptions. I am very familiar with the area and have visited your restaurant before for happy hour, which made this experience especially disappointing. Given your reputation and pricing, I expected a much higher standard in both food quality and overall guest experience. I felt it was important to bring this to your attention, as this experience did not reflect the level your establishment is known for. Sincerely, Jennifer read more

Asked to use the restroom and blonde (possibly French or dutch?) hostess said no because they were having a private event. Asked if she knew of a nearby restroom, she said no and was unhelpful and rude, saying she's not from here. Rude and unhelpful. read more

Had a nice dinner here the other night. The ambiance is laid back, the food is good and the service was fine. I would recommend this place but with a few notes. 1) while the food was very good. It was slow. Took a while to come out. 2) portion sizes were good, not too much, not too little. 3) the restaurant and outdoor area was very pretty. 4) drinks were water down though so i would not come for cocktails because they were very pricy for how watered down they were. 5) food was tasty but meat not cooked to temperature requested. My daughter asked for medium they gave her medium rare. Again these are not make or break things but I would not give this place a higher review because of them. For such a pricey place, I expected better. read more

It has been a while since we first fell in love with this place and I just wanted to provide this update today they are still going strong. Really enjoyed my apps and drinks at the bar here! The service was incredibly attentive and the bar happy hour menu was a great addition to their regular dinner menu. I snagged the Drexel margarita which could've had less sugar- but the apps were unbelievable. Personally really enjoyed the octopus, fried cauliflower and eggplant. Recommend requesting outside for a date as it's super romantic. Bar has a great inviting aesthetic as well. read more

It has taken me too long to visit this restaurant and I'll be sure to not wait too long to return. Love the ambience, service was stellar and the food was excellent. My cocktail was delicious - similar to a Hugo Spritz. The grilled octopus was delicious and tender, the roasted eggplant was good but the star was the green salad. That is not a joke...the dressing was well balanced with the sage and citrus, and the greens were so fresh. The skirt steak with fries was a winner as were the lamb chops. To note - it's not really a cucumber salad that accompanies the lamb chops...it's an assortment of herbs with some long slices of cucumber and a few tomatoes. It is good but more of a large garnish than a salad. We were too full for dessert but will definitely be back again! read more

The Drexel's happy hour continues to be one of my absolutely favorites! I love sitting at their quaint bar and ordering the Green Goddess cocktail along with their margarita pizza and cauliflower. The staff is super friendly and kind. The service is always excellent. Great drinks, food, and a lovely ambiance. Definitely worth a visit for dinner or happy hour. I believe they had brunch as well so that's also another option. Can't wait to be back soon! read more

I went for a Miami Spice (August through September) dinner on a Wednesday evening. It wasn't busy at all. The space hardly had 1-2 other tables occupied. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed eating at The Drexel. It was surprisingly very empty on the Wednesday night I went. This was even more surprising when we tasted how delicious the food is. My partner said he enjoyed this food even more than the Michelin star restaurant lunch we had earlier in the day. And when we went back to the area a few weeks later for a different (and higher-rated) Miami Spice restaurant, we quickly regretted not going to The Drexel instead. The portions were a perfect size. Appetizer I ordered a salad. My partner ordered a crab cake. Both were winners. Entree We aren't big on mussels or gnocchi, and that left us with one Miami Spice entree option: the skirt steak with fries. It may have been the best skirt steak I've ever tasted. I was nervous at the size of the meat that I would be hungry after, but I was full. Dessert My partner ordered the pavlova. I ordered the panna cotta. We really liked our own, but decided to swap halfway through because we liked each others slightly more. The pavlova was fun. The panna cotta had a lot of raspberries and tart flavor on it, which kept me from being able to appreciate the texture and flavor of the panna cotta. I wish there was a way on the reservation site to mention we were celebrating a birthday. I didn't feel comfortable mentioning it in person, but it could've presented opportunities for a more memorable special experience. read more

This was a divine find based on other Yelpers. The decor was very elegant and classy. We didn't have reservations but were seated promptly. Service was stellar, our server was attentive and friendly and took great care of our table tonight. For food, we ordered tuna carpaccio which was delicious. We went on to order lamb chops, hen of the wood and mushroom pizza. Our food was great and everything tasted perfect. We had a great dinner experience. Highly recommend. read more

Let's start with the ambiance.. very elegant and sexy! This is definitely the atmosphere for a Roma rice dinner or night out with friends. I visited with two close friends and we were all very pleased with our experience. The customer service was great and they definitely use an all hands on deck approach. I ordered the flat iron chicken and it comes solo so I asked to ordered the cucumber salad as a side. The cucumbers were thinly sliced which came as a surprise but after having them shaved/sliced thinly, I'll for sure inquire at other restaurants. The chicken was made to perfection, very moist and tender. Not only was this the juiciest grilled chicken I've had, it was bursting with flavors. Anyone who knows me, knows ima champagne kinda girl.. I ordered a glass of their Cava to top the night off. read more

Where in Miami can you go on a Sunday with the girls or the family of 4 and get a whole chicken with salad and fries and a glass of wine for $48? Seasoned to perfection and moist. The chicken was chefs kiss. My daughter ordered the mussels which she loved. And for dessert we ordered the pavlova. My granddaughter LOVED it! Our server was great. She was having great convos with my baby girl. And the vibes and ambiance is great. I always love the outdoors but we had to move inside because of rain which was still nice. I will be returning soon. read more

The Drexel is a beautiful restaurant that has a beautiful interior and great patio seating. We sat outside and our group ordered several drinks which were great and the service was awesome and attentive. Where The Drexel falls short is the food. The veggies we ordered were okay, the seafood however was not good (to put it nicely). This place seems like a great spot for drinks but I would stop there - just do drinks. For the price, you can find better options elsewhere in Miami. read more

The Drexel on historic Espanola Way is a great place for a relaxing breakfast (other meals might be just as nice). The ambiance is lovely. The food quite good. My friend had a simple eggs 2 way, done just right. I had a burrito. It was stuffed and came with a nice spicey sauce. Service was a bit sketchy. The table next to us received wrong orders as did our table. I also wish our coffee had been refilled. Overall, good experience. read more

We have gone twice for the breakfast that is included with the Esmé hotel stay, which is very good. There is no decaf coffee option offered, so we asked a lovely gentleman if we could somehow get a cup and without hesitation, he made one! We weren't told that there was an extra cost for the decaf. The following day, we once again asked for a cup of decaf, this time, the lady told us that it cost extra. So we politely told her that the day prior, we weren't charged anything, but if that's the case, then fine, we didn't need it. She followed us to our table insisting on continuing on about how it's their policy and we should have been charged. She was quite rude and we had already moved on. It was completely unnecessary for her to approach our table to make her point read more

This quiet and beautiful dim lit small spot on the corner of espanola made this tourist feel like family. The whole staff and the bartenders were great and made our group feel so welcomed. Around the corner from my old condo on a beautifully renovated Plaza de Espana, the Drexel Drexel occupies the first floor and Terrace of a restored hotel. The location is beautiful and charming. The terraces quiet and tranquil, an oasis from the noise of South Beach Our servers were charming, friendly and attentive. (How did that happen in Dade county?) Of course most importantly, the food was well prepared with fresh ingredients. My roast pepper was memorable, give an added texture by mixed nuts. The haricot vert were perfectly grilled best of all, the chicken was fresh and tasty I this place and will return happily soon read more

I don't do cocktails but this place surprised me. The bartender knows what he's doing! The sangria was a 10/10!!!!!!!!

Great place with a beautiful atmosphere, a wide variety of menu options and warm, knowledgeable service. Recently had my third visit on a sleepy Monday night, providing a contrast to a previously buzzy Thursday visit and extremely busy Friday night. The menu is very well put together with great options regardless of your mood. The pastas are excellent and homemade. Their cacio e pepe with a touch of lemon is amazing. Their pizzas are thin crust and very tasty. The more substantial dishes have all been delicious, the flat-iron pressed chicken being my favorite. There's also a great selection of appetizers and veggie items available - the fried cheese is to die for. Surprisingly, the neighborhood is also a star here. The "new" Espanola Way is transforming from a terrible tourist trap into something that locals and visitors alike would actually want to come to again and again. Sitting outside on the square on a nice evening is just perfect. read more

This place is magical. Definitely eat outside if you go. One thing that I will say it's very expensive. So if you're looking for discounted food, this is not the place to go. That's sad. And the eggplant was really good but would probably go for the bean dip instead next time. If you're really hungry get the whole chicken with the fries, the plate looks great and is very big. My wife and I had breakfast there this morning. It looked very inviting although a limited breakfast menu. We sat outside at a sunny table so we could people watch. Our server was very pleasant and took our orders and brought coffee pretty quick. Our food arrived and mine was not what I had ordered....but it was fine. My wife had what appeared to be a delicious breakfast burrito. Her burrito midway at one end had some funky large chunk of something that should not have been in there. So she only ate half of it and didn't want to make a fuss. The coffee was excellent ....it would have been nice to have a refill....i went in to see about more coffee (because I saw our server leave) and I was told that they were closed!!! Like they had no idea we were out there eating. Of course I told her we were still out front eating and we also should have our check...she was stunned and a first didn't know what to do. So I asked if she could get our check and that I was disappointed that they forgot about us and wouldn't give us a refill on the coffee. She came out with the check apologized and offered us to go to their roof top area where we could get coffee. Too strange So initial service was fine, food not so good and ending service questionable. A group of 5 tourists showed up as this was happening and the same woman gave them the breakfast menus to look at and when they asked for a table they were told that the restaurant had closed . They all just stood and looked at each other. Kind of comical actually. Find another spot or proceed with knowledge read more

From the Mandolin Aegean Bistro team, the Drexel is just as wonderful! The indoor/outdoor vibe and details in the decor are so welcoming. As a Miami native, I wouldn't normally think to dine near Española, as it is usually a tourist spot, but The Drexel is more than worth the trek to SoBe. To begin, their cocktails are made with fresh juices, nothing bottled or from concentrate. I loved the Paloma de la Noche. For apps, the baked kefalograviera is simple and delish. We also ordered the local tuna carpaccio, which was refreshing. I would skip the charred squid, as it was lacking for me. For the main, the whole organic chicken is a MUST have. We were a party of 4 and had chicken left to spare. The chicken is juicy and flavorful and the fries are excellent. Plan ahead and order the chocolate soufflé for dessert. It takes the kitchen a bit longer to make but, it is absolutely worth the wait. read more

The Drexel was within eyesight of our hotel and being a dog friendly patio we decided on a try and glad we did . Started w a couple tasty draft beers - NA Brooklyn one for her and a dark brew for me . The mussels are very good choice here - great sauce , nice amount of mussels - almost all were intact - no empty shells . Great big slice of toasted fresh bread for dunking and slathering and enjoying - this is how mussels should be plated and all too often aren't - the bread is an afterthought - and here that's definitely not the case . We went with the zucchini etc pizza and it's a solid, fresh and toothsome chew here . Nice crust ! Asked for well-done and cooked just right . Nice atmosphere at the quieter end of the Espanola way boom boom bam. Very happy with the service here too . An all around solid choice here . read more
