Everything was delicious Best burger in Cullman!! Mushroom Swiss was delicious! My hubby loved the club!

We placed a to go order, over the phone. (It was difficult to even get them on the phone to begin with ) It took 4 calls, before the phone was even answered. When I arrived to get the food, *of course* I was prompted to tip for take-out. & YES, I did (even though you don't really deserve an $8 tip for *messing up on BAGGING an order). But, that's another rant for another time. 5 minutes down the road, we found we were missing an item on this $50+ order. AGAIN, We both called multiple times each, before the phone was answered. I explained we were *coming back*, because we were missing an order of onion rings. She said 'Okay, just bring the bag & receipt back in with you.' I get there, the original gal who helped me, would not speak to me or look at me. This really irks me because I gave this gal $8 tip for her to not even FIX her OWN mess--up. A different gal helped me. Proceeded to wait 15+ minutes for them to get the onion rings. Meanwhile, a couple standing at the counter begins looking thru OUR bag thinking it may be there to go order. Get the onion rings, go home, all our food is cold. Husband said the onion rings were not worth that ordeal. I am really bummed about this experience because I like to support LOCAL, and I LOVE the fried mushrooms & wings here. But, this has made me feel like I will no longer be generous on tipping *to-go orders*. If there was a way to rescind that tip, we surely would have because it was absolutely not handled in a way that merits us doing it again. ANSWER your PHONE. I am not trying to sell you an extended warranty or a time-share. & Don't expect people to be OK with paying for your mess ups. This is a prime example of why we will no longer participate in tipping culture for to-go orders. read more

The food is mediocre. My husband absolutely loves this place though. He highly recommends the Philly. The food is a little greasy for me. The wings are ok, a little dry. I don't recommend getting the plain or butter. They were very bland. I asked our waitress for some mild sauce which helped. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere is nice. read more

Downtown grill has good food, fast service, and is family friendly. I would recommend.

Food was subpar at best. Everything was deep fried. The Potato skins shredded cheese wasn't even melted. The margarita was the worst margarita I have ever had. I'm not even sure there was tequila in it. Ranch fries were blah. Fried pickles were very very salty. Wings were ok. We had sweet heat, tasted like BBQ sauce and wasn't hot at all. Teriyaki was decent. Salt and Vinegar were so salty we couldn't eat them and the wings were dry. Sweet and Sour was ok. Overall I wasn't impressed and will be ok if I never make it back. We used to come here a lot before it swapped owners. It just isn't the same. read more

I wanted to like this place. I heard there were new owners so I decided to try it after an event in downtown Cullman. Had two kids with me and a friend. Ordered mozzarella sticks for the kids. Fried pickles, mushrooms, and potato skins for everyone. They did not have marinara for the cheese sticks. They did not have sauce for the mushrooms. They did not have sour cream for the potato skins. Our server suggested we come back on a night when they aren't so busy. I asked her how the amount of people in the restaurant has anything to do with the fact that they don't have things available. That sounds more like supply chain issues to me. She mumbled "you don't have to be a f***ing b*tch". I asked a question. I'm sorry that it made her curse in front of two school aged children. The food we did get was more than subpar. I still left an appropriate tip because who she was towards me won't change who I am but downtown grill needs better food and better service. read more

A group of us stopped in late Saturday night for a bite to eat. I had the chili cheese dog and fries. The hot dog was good and the chili with beans was good. The hot dog and fixins were large and good. The fries were just regular frozen fries, nothing to write home about. For dessert we had the fried banana pudding. It was ok, and I can take that off my bucket list, but I wouldn't go out of my way to have it. read more

We just moved to Cullman and want to try the local places. We ordered take out. We had a steak philly, burger, wings and chicken fingers. All of it was good. The fries were a little soggy and cold but that's to be expected when taking food home. Overall nice staff and decent food. read more

Had an excellent BLT and fries. Coffee was good. Service was good and friendly. Meal prices were a good value. Decor and facility are a half step from fast food to diner. The food is good diner quality. Seating is no frills booths, tables, and counter. Sandwiches come in plastic baskets and coffee comes in a styro cup. Have went here for years for wings. Won't be back due to the last to go order. Ordered over phone and after each burger was asked if I wanted fries. I said no. I get there and the bill was $28 dollars for two burgers and fries ???? I asked if I was charged for fries and she said they charge you for them even if you ask for no fries. So two burgers and 8 wings = $28? I can't see myself paying that when I can take my wife to a steak house for close to that. read more

My husband and I went back for some 'man food'. Unfortunately we weren't that impressed. We got the loaded potato skins which came out with imitation bacon. Seriously? You have all this man food and can't put real bacon on the potato skins? My husband ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich but got buffalo chicken fingers instead. He was fine with that, its the same thing without the bun, but he just said the sauce was not any better than store bought. I was craving a nice burger but was less than wowed by the bland burger I received. We love the Downtown Grill for their awesome chicken tenders. Seriously, they are some of the best I've had. Their fries are so tasty- whether you get the ranch fries or the fries with cheese and bacon. We've always had great service when eating in, and the servers are super kind to my 2 year old. The ONLY downside is that you sometimes leave smelling like you laid straight on the fryer. Update: please get the hamburger steak. It's the best I've ever had. The food is mediocre at best, the one and ONLY reason i keep returning here is the DEEP FRIED BANANA PUDDING!!!!!!!!!!!! yes you heard me right!!! this delectable delight will keep me coming back for more.. i tried to take some to go so the wife and kids could enjoy....... yeah not good. Wings - if that's what you're craving, then this place does them better than any chain restaurant! The traditional sauce is not too hot, so if your palate runs toward spicier, ask for more kick. he traditional on-the-bone are very meaty and the skin was that perfect level of crispiness you look for in a good fried chicken wing. I'd use the word "delicious" on the wings! Wings are served with a very yummy boiled potato(!) which was quite the teaser and I almost asked if I could have more of those. And a triangle of white bread (oh, Southerners, what's with the white bread?) and ranch or blue cheese but NO carrots or celery. Puzzling. I asked for a house salad on the side, and that happened to be iceberg lettuce topped with bacon bits and cheddar cheese shreds. What??? I asked the waitress if the other veggies had been forgotten and she said, "No, that's the house salad." Yikes! (And yuck! I wanted veggies!) My friend got the grilled chicken over salad and it was mediocre according to him. Other than that, it's average food at a reasonable price. Another table's burger looked pretty tasty. The menu contains many sandwiches and fried selections (including desserts such as fried twinkies, oreos, etc.) for those who are into such things. There are daily specials and they have a "Wing Challenge" you can attempt to conquer if you like (10 wings in 10 minutes with their hottest sauce, no dipping in ranch or bleu and nothing to drink). The service was attentive although a tad slower than I'm used to, but I chalked that up to it being a smaller town in the South where the overall pace is just more relaxed. The waitress thoughtfully asked if we wanted to-go cups for our beverages at the end. If I were to return, I'd stick to the specialty, as the wings were top notch! Love love love the shrimp tacos. The wings are cooked just right and with the medium sweet heat sauce are delicious. Toss in the fried oreos (they've been out of banana pudding everytime I've gone) and it's a nice place. The lighting is a bit bright but the beer on tap will help you forget about that. The service is friendly; you can tell it's a family business. I can't wait to head back and try the steak sandwich (but the shrimp tacos call to me). read more

Wings are the best you're going to get in Cullman, but the service can be spotty at times due to one mediocre waitress. The only real issue is how slow they are in the kitchen. I still give 4 stars because I enjoy the Wings. I eat at BWW biweekly because of a waitress I know the wings here are better. read more

This is a great place to eat. I go every Thursday for .50 wings. The wings are always good. Very nice and friendly.
