In town for the holiday and settled on this spot for breakfast. A quant diner in the heart of Cullman in the old sears building. We were allowed to sit wherever and the server was over in minimal time to take our drink order. We placed the food order soon after and had our meal in less than 15 minutes. I have the two egg (over medium) breakfast with sausage and biscuit and gravy. The eggs were cooked as ordered, the biscuit and gravy were delicious. The sausage was a little overcooked, my only complaint. The server was nice and accommodating and the diner is nice. This is a spot I would frequent if I lived locally. Do yourself a favor and give it a try yourself.

Nice place! Great service and the is really good. Very reasonably priced and they have a garden omelette that looked really good that my dad got. Chock full of . Can get busy but worth the wait! Grits are really good, will need but I prefer it that way where I season my own. You can't take salt out!

Hands down, I just tasted the absolute worst burger I've ever had in my life. We stopped by this small, diner type local restaurant because their menu online featured German food, but after we sat down we were told they "can't get anyone to work nights," so they took the German food off the menu. We didn't have time to go somewhere else so we just stayed. When we walked in, I stood at the counter and wasn't acknowledged at all. A worker saw me come in, continued talking to a patron, then rang up a couple customers who approached the counter after me. Finally asked her if we were supposed to sit or order at the counter and she said "oops you can sit down, sorry," and gestures to some booths. The waitress was friendly and when I attempted to order the burger she explained it was a dough burger, which apparently had dough and flour added to the meat. "You'll either like it, or you won't!" I was apprehensive but said I'd try it. Upon receiving the square bread patty on a bun with traditional burger condiments, a single bland, flavorless bite told me the meat to flour ratio was pretty off balance. I broke the "patty" open and looked at it, and if it was more than 5% meat, I'll eat my hat. (And my hat would probably taste better.) We also ordered fried green tomatoes and fried pickles, and they tasted basically the same as the "burger." Very little flavor. My husband had a salad and enjoyed it. When the waitress saw I didn't eat the burger, she removed it from the bill, no questions asked. Almost like she had done it many times before. Drive a little further, friends, and get some real food.

Hildegard's came highly recommended during our stop in Huntsville. Upon arrival, it is a small…read morerestaurant in a strip of a few others in a more suburban area. However, upon entry there are several tables, small and large, as well as a few tables on an outdoor patio. We chose to sit on the patio and were quickly seated by the hostess. At another table, another couple was about to leave; the waitress said that she looked forward to seeing them again next week, always a good sign for the quality of the restaurant. Our server was also quick to stop by and shared the draft options, including Weihenstephan Hefeweizen! I have not yet seen this beer on draft outside of Germany, and needless to say it was excellent. Before ordering, we also received a basket of breads, very tasty. We both ordered schnitzels (he the Bavarian, I the Berlin) and we split the sides of red cabbage, sauerkraut, kaesespaezle and pan fried potatoes. The Berlin was crispy, well done, and topped with apples and onions that were a good addition for the flavor. The mushroom sauce on the Bavarian was also quite nice and full of flavor. I really enjoyed the sides and can recommend them all. To finish, we had the Nutella cheesecake, a generous slice that was of a smooth consistency and full of flavor. Overall, as can be guessed we were very happy to stop by. The food was very good, service prompt, drinks always filled, and portions plentiful. It was a highlight of our trip and I would definitely enjoy it again.

It was among some of the most very authentic German food I've ever had in the USA. Lots of us are VERY sad and heartbroken this joint ain't dere no more. When a place this good goes away the hurt just sticks around as you can't stop missing it. I very much hate the fact it is gone... it says it is temporarily closed but that temporary has been going on a long time now...

They have long community tables as well as the most cozy tucked away booth for a group as well as rooftop seating. This is really great space for groups or even just you and a friend. Or, even if you want to go grab a bite and a beer after work there's a long bar you can sit at, too. The vibe is very laid-back, but also trendy which I love and the food is phenomenal. Last night I got the double burger and the bun was perfectly buttered and toasted, and the two patties with the cheese was super juicy. It does have a black pepper aïoli on it, which the pepper flavoring is definitely prominent, but it was still very good. I really love the fact that they do Fresh house cut french fries. It's really about the details! They are very known for their corn dog, just trust me, it's super fun. But everything I've ordered is always very good, they used to have the best lamb burger in town and I still dream about it! I also really appreciate that they have an extensive list of drink options from homemade unique cocktails to beer to wine and nonalcoholic beers and mocktails. There is something for everyone. They also have a lot of specials during the week as well as other activities like trivia on Wednesday nights. Their location will be moving in the beginning of 2025 but go check this place out!

The pub maintains a higher standard of cleanliness over most of their competitors. The staff expeditiously helps to solve issues that arise, and they support each other; our app came out via another server because ours was busy greeting another table. This tells me that the staff has each other's back, a key component to a good restaurant. They don't pretend to be something that appeals to the masses; they're open and honest about who they are and what they want to represent, operative word being "want." On with the bad. The management team should reconsider their cost to value ratio a little more closely; five slices of fried green tomatoes and a dipping sauce shouldn't cost the same as an entrée from other restaurants (the red sauce definitely has fennel or star anise, despite the server's claim that it's all tomato & garlic). I'm not sure that I understand why they serve two spindles of chives with a dish as a garnish, when the kitchen could just as easily chop it and sprinkle it so that the garnish doesn't get discarded. The restaurant has a touristy/gimmicky feel to it, rather than an authentic English pub. Truth be told, I probably won't dine here again, but it was a relaxing spot for some tired legs to catch a break. Admittedly, I did not try an entrée, so perhaps I shouldn't judge purely based on an appetizer and a round of drinks. I overheard a server saying that they cut their own steaks on site and that everything is scratch made in house. Perhaps I'm wrong with my analysis, but based on my experience it's not a place that I would write home about.
