Do not recommend! This place is perfect if you like bland food with no flavor, and an opinionated staff. Asked for tea with no ice and was told it would be hot, which I said is fine. Still got it with ice! Asked about which is better, the corn muffin or roll, and the response was, "Well corn muffin when it's not burnt. I mean honestly, why would you criticize the food you are serving by saying something to scare the customer away from a selection like that? The ambiance was very simple, not much for decor, it is a small town cafe that used to be called Grumpy's, they have 9 tables, and a wait staff that serves carry out, dine in and drive thru customers, and shared tips. Honestly one of the worst experiences for food taste, and the whole experience. We were told to take a seat, weren't given menus until a few minutes after we sat down and the table was littered with trash and debris, which was cleaned off as we were at the table. They had a big line of cars around the building for the drive thru, and all the other tables inside were full. The food presentation was that of grilling in the back yard. But, you need to work on seasoning the beef, the fries, and the meatloaf. I don't know how this place was so busy! Maybe people don't know how to use spices to flavor foods these days. Very small local place with fast & good food. There's room for many 10-15 tables inside but there's also a drive thru to this yummy meat & 3 (or Meat & 1/Meat & 2). Good country cooking, helpful & attentive staff and fair prices. Definitely worth the stop. read more

First time eating here. We called it in, gave'm 20 minutes and it was ready when I arrived. Meat and three veggies for both of us. We chose fried chicken tenders (excellent), cornbread, mashed potatoes, okra, pintos, greens, creamed corn and green beans. The tenders are worth going back for, the veggies are prepared well enough...needed a little salt and pepper to live'n them up and I was pleased that the cornbread seemed to not have sugar. After reading reviews on here, I think we are going to have to try the dressing, desserts and burgers! Very pleased and satisfied. This place is super tiny, so, an order for pick up is recommended. Boaz Cafe is the finest dining option in Boaz, Alabama. Its a shining example of a small down meat and 3/ burger spot with extremely friendly service. They have a daily fresh prepared special (today was meatloaf) with roughly a dozen vegetable options. Chicken fingers, country fried steak and hamburger steak are served daily. Additionally, they serve a bevy of in house prepared cakes and pies. I purchased a slice of peanut butter pie for my son and pecan for my wife to go. The food was good fresh prepared and a great value. For $6 and change I had hamburger steak with gravy peppers and onions, mac and cheese, fried okra, turnip greens and a cornbread muffin. The cornbread was surprisingly good and not sweet. The greens were legit and likely the best thing on the plate. I'm relatively certain the mac and cheese is the good kind of Kraft but I'll let it slide given the only other options in town are a couple Mexican joints, a couple other mom and pops including Dales BBQ which I think has common ownership with Boaz Café and fast food. I usually eat here a couple times whenever I'm in town. If you find yourself in Boaz for whatever reason. The Boaz Café is my favorite spot in town. read more

Waitress that greeted us was very rude and acted like she wished we wouldn't have stopped in. Weren't given menus and when we asked for one where we didn't have to look at the wall where someone was sitting we were asked "do you really need one?" And then they brought us 1 to share. The same waitress took our order and then we never seen her again. Someone else took over our table and the other girl was clueless. She actually was standing in the corner picking her nose and wiping it on her sleeve and then seen us looking at her and asked if we had put our order in yet. Then the same waitress ran food to a separate table without even washing her hands. We nearly walked out right there and wished we would've. My sisters food was wrong and I had a hair in my mac and cheese. My hamburger steak was burnt. Roll was hard. I mean, it was a horrible visit. We weren't ever brought a check (we never complained while inside eating) so we walked up to the counter and had to tell the girl what we ordered. This place use to be great but it was very poorly ran this day. Everyone seemed to be in an awful mood other than the girl at the register. She was sweet. read more
