Eggs Benedict... absolutely no flavor to the Hollandaise sauce. Their cheese grits were grits with a sprinkle of coarse grated cheese on them. The grits had NO SALT ... how is that even possible? Over easy eggs were not done, sausage patties the size of a quarter and burned black all over. Please invest in some noise dampening!!! Half full in a hall and we couldn't hear each other sitting across the table. This place is an odd mix. The menu has items that are falsely advertised, the service is mediocre, and if you're sat near the door, it is very windy every time the door is opened. I ordered the waffle in the screenshot and it is definitely NOT as advertised. The dough is standard waffle dough. I didn't expect the entire waffle to be made from cookie dough, but I did expect something special with cookie dough mixed in, as it does say "Freshly-baked cookie dough Belgian waffle topped with cookie dough bites". That expressly states the dough has cookie dough in it, and it does not. I got a regular waffle with cookie dough bites on top. It wasn't BAD, but it wasn't SPECIAL like advertised, and it CERTAINLY wasn't worth the upgrade price over other sweet treat items or regular waffles. Normally I have no issue with this restaurant, its food quality, or service. But on our latest visit we were ignored (took forever for someone to even come bring silverware or water), a couple of the waitresses were rather rude, and the dining room wasn't the cleanest we've seen it. I can't say the place was even that busy- half empty...as we watched folks that arrived well after we did get served before us...at least they got the order (for the most part) correct. The first cup of coffee I received was lukewarm and I had to remind the waitress/bartender to bring part of my order they forgot. Great breakfast spot at City Harbor! Went out for the day to explore the town and we stopped by for brunch and really enjoyed the menu items, food, drinks and service. It's great for parties of 4-6 people. I think maybe the outside patio might be better for larger parties with a wait time. The menu selection is pretty great for either breakfast, or brunch. Our server was very friendly with a great personality and offered great recommendations! Definitely a great spot and then afterwards take a walk to the nearby shops, and the lake front. We came here for brunch for a friend's birthday and had a good time. Our waiter was friendly and did a good job. The ambiance was fine. The food was pretty good and tasty. I got the cinnamon roll French toast and it was really good. I also got some bacon and potatoes. The bacon was ok, but the potatoes were tasty. The only thing I negative can think of is that the bathroom was pretty small, only two stalls and one sink. My best friend and I went in for lunch and they by mistake sent out a item that was not cooked and they back the manager Bobby who was so nice came out and said he take off the bill which was not necessary and sent out fresh ones. We also had two waitresses one who wasn't our for some reason she was amazing I think her name was April started with an A and another girl she must be new idk but this other girl was on it and helpful and sweet. Beautiful location for this business--I love City Harbor, and I was especially excited to see Another Broken Egg here. The food was good, but unfortunately, the service really fell short. Our waitress (who didn't put her name on the check) started off okay, but then barely came by our table. When we were ready to leave, we ended up waiting about 20 minutes just for her to pick up our checks and cards. During that time, I saw her at the bar talking with people, even making eye contact with me a couple of times, but not coming over. I tried to be patient, but eventually I had to walk to the bar and ask her to take our payment. It came across as unprofessional and distracted, and it left our group with a negative impression. Sadly, because of this experience, we probably won't return. read more

I had a great experience on Saturday morning--our server, Michaela, took care of us and the manager was visible and making table visits. The food was excellent, and although service was a bit slow, it felt attentive. However, Sunday morning was a completely different experience. I asked the host where to place a to-go order, and she told me to sit under the TVs. I waited there for 20 minutes without being acknowledged, even though multiple servers and bartenders walked right past me. When I was finally addressed, I was told to give it a minute, which turned into another 10 minutes. I moved to the bar hoping to speed things up--thinking that if I ordered a drink and food together, I'd be taken care of. I sat there for another 5 to 10 minutes, still ignored. The bartenders seemed to be running around with no clear communication or system in place. By the time I finally received a menu, I had been waiting 30 minutes total and was ready to order immediately. I ordered a Bloody Maria and breakfast. The drink arrived with no garnish--and although the bartender acknowledged it and said she'd bring it, it never came. It also took another 10 minutes just to get the drink. In total, I spent over an hour and 30 minutes trying to place a to-go order and eat, and when my food finally came, it was still incorrect. I understand Sundays are busy, but being completely ignored, waiting endlessly, and then being served incorrect food and an unfinished drink is not acceptable. I even spoke with a manager while I was there, and he said, "Yeah, we really need to reevaluate who's working the bar." If that's the case--why isn't something being done? Son had the chicken tenders and fruit, bouchevere bacon Queso omelette with grits, and we had the lemon blueberry pancakes. Everything was quite good but seemed a little on the old side. It was in the high 60s outside so a little cool but no steam coming from the food and eggs cool to the tongue by the time they came out but fine. Husband had the spiked maple coffee which was phenomenal. Son accidentally got served the big kids chocolate milk (with syrup which he doesn't like but sure was pretty) our waitress quickly brought him out a regular. I really wanted some honey for the pancakes (they had brought syrup) but we didn't see the waitress again during the meal to get any if they had some. Loved the flavor and chunks of lobster the sauce was really delish We both agreed that the lobster and Brie omelette was the better of the two. We didn't have any cocktails, most drinks on the menu were $10-$12 which I did think was expensive for a breakfast cocktail in this town. I'm from MN and I would pay $10-$12 in Minneapolis but not here. My lobster omelette wasn't hot it was just luke warm and my husbands omelette was hot. It would've been nice to have warm English muffins where the butter melted. Those are my two suggestions to the restaurant. All in all it was very good the service was great and so was the food! I had the strawberry pound cake French toast. Very nice but fairly sweet. Coffee is great. Our group shared some biscuit beignets. They were good, but I do not recall seeing them on the menu. Try them. I would recommend this place for breakfast. Not cheap. Runs about $15 for breakfast, but its not food you find at Waffle House or Cracker Barrel. It's worth a try. read more

Nice! The wait wasn't long at all for a table. The server was very friendly and prompt. As always, the food takes a little time to get to you, but they are always busy as they close at 2. And it's worth the wait! They have a full bar if you're wanting a drink to go with your breakfast, or in our case, brunch. Everything is always very fresh and the food is hot and done well! We all enjoyed our meal here and will most definitely visit again! Only complaint I had was that the restrooms are very small, and they usually have a good many people eating here, so, you might have to wait a minute. We had no wait time and the atmosphere was quiet since it wasn't very busy in the morning during the week. Our waitress was very attentive and polite which made our time here so much more enjoyable! The problem was that no one must have been assigned to our table and waitresses walked past us. We have been here about 10 times since they opened and I have never seen a restaurant crew work so hard to meet the demands of the customers. We've had to wait awhile for a table at busier times, and when they are not busy, we've been able to walk right in and be seated. The reason we keep coming back is because of the quality of the food, the friendliness of the servers and the excellent view of the lake. Every time we've had a problem (slow service, incorrect food order or problem with the bill) the servers are polite and apologetic and the matter has been handled as quickly as possible. We always look forward to coming back; striving for excellence is something a lot of other places should do as well as this one repeatedly does. read more

We came in on a Saturday morning and asked to sit out on the deck. Luckily for us, we were seated near the walls of the restaurant versus sitting near the water. Although they have beautiful views of the river, the poor guests at those tables were hit full on by the rising sun and were sweating miserably. After a few minutes, they started dragging their tables towards our area to get out of the glare.
