Great spot for a bite in Cullman. Felt like more of a hangout spot than a restaurant as it's pretty small inside. Atmosphere was very laid back and friendly. Came with a large group and service appeared to be pretty efficient. I ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes and a side of brussel sprouts. The steak was cooked to my liking, the brussel sprouts were crispy and sweet, and the mashed potatoes were creamy and light. I also ordered an old fashioned which came out very good. Overall, just a great atmosphere and a restaurant worth recognition in the Cullman area.

Trip #2 to The National. Once again, flavor, service and atmosphere were spot on. Highly recommend this hidden gem!!

This was our first visit and I have to say, we were impressed. My husband got the special smash burger, it had a fried egg, bacon jam, garlic aioli and came with fries. I had to steal a few fries, they were so good!! I had the shrimp and grits! They were delicious, my only suggestion would be to add a little Cajun sausage in the dish with the shrimp! For dessert we ordered the duchess donut bread pudding! It was just enough for the both of us to share! The service was excellent as well! We really enjoyed our meal and decided we need to go weekly now to try everything on the menu!

I swear this "pork chop" tastes and looks striking like a ham, and the deep fried Brussels are scary. But I love the service and the bar. P.S. The creme brule was good, the bartender said they make the crème in house.

What a nice little dining spot! Decor was inviting and comfortable. Our server was super attentive-our drinks never went dry. The iced tea was perfect. Food was fresh and delicious!

Loved this restaurant! The food was amazing! The atmosphere kinda fancy, but not arrogant. I mean they have white tablecloths, but the staff dress casual. Very much my type of place. I have to go back soon to try more!

It's sort of like a fast food restaurant in you order the food at the front counter. However, they do bring it to you. I ordered the Urban Cowboy Sandwich with the Hot Cheddar Pasta. My girlfriend got the Veggie Quesadilla with Shrimp. She had the orange roll as a side. We both had fountain drinks. The atmosphere is kind of generic but there were plenty of seats and mostly country music playing. My Urban Cowboy sandwich was a steak strip sandwich with some peppers and a tangy orange sauce. It was really tender, with no fat, and served on a toasted roll. The Hot Cheddar Pasta is a variation on Mac and Cheese but so much better. It looked like ziti-style noodles with lots of cheddar cheese. Both were excellent choices and I highly recommend. My girlfriend liked her Veggie Quesadilla with shrimp too but had to take half of it to go. The front counter folks did provide a takeout box. It is a little pricey compared to fast food restaurants but the quality is very good and worth it. The price for both our meals with drinks was around $40. I'm surprised this restaurant doesn't have more business but perhaps it's fairly new. I highly recommend and would go again when I am in the area. It has a nice atmosphere and the food is well prepared and fresh.

She appeared to be handling the whole front by herself, but made us feel like we were the only ones there. Decor is like that of a "RoadHouse" feel. Apparently they have live music on a posted schedule. Looked like that would be a fun time to visit. Options were standard southern style meat and three options or menu choices. Wife had vegetable plate, I had the pulled pork plate. Bar-B-Que was tender and flavorful. Not bad for a non specialist Bar-B-Que restaurant. 2 flavors of sauce on the table, a sweet and spicy sauce, either would be an excellent choice. There were only 2 meat options offered, don't know if that's the norm, or we were there so late after lunch they had sold out of other options. Will definitely be back there again. I would like to try and catch one evening with the live music is scheduled.

Greasy with an odd sweet seasoning? Like paprika blended with sugar. Kiddo had the chicken club. He really liked it. The addition of pimento cheese was interesting in a good way. He did not eat his fries, this kid always eats his fries. I liked the vibe of the place, they do live music and that's cool. The service (or lack thereof) is the reason for the 3-star rating. Our server vanished. Never once checked on us, we had to wait 15 minutes after eating for our check. It was so bad that we had to wave down another server to finally get the check.
