They are amazing! Fast and delicious food My first experience was outside a gym. She was set up in the parking lot on grand opening day.

So our most recent visit involved some of their small plate items. The pork belly was most…read moreexcellent - highly recommend! I think what kept me from five-starring Kamado on my previous visits was a little bit of a pet peeve that I had to just get over - traffic management. More of a problem at their Stovehouse location struggles with this more than the Mid-City location (which is larger). The Stovehouse location is tight quarters and seems to do a very healthy take-away business. Unfortunately l, for those who want to dine in, that means people waiting for their take-away orders are hovering in the walkways blocking the ability to refill drinks or even leave. I'm more than happy that Kamado does a healthy business, and the size of their location was probably based on the work opening day, but their food has caught on and gained a following. I still like the back alley Kyoto feel of the Stovehouse location, but we tend to gravitate to MidCity because of their ability to handle our large crew.

I eat there often, but this has been the 3rd time it just hasn't been up to par. The mid city location is always great, but this is a hard decline. There was more roaches than "normal" crawling around the floor.. I get it being in a strip mall like food place, but this was just awful experiences the last 3 times. I'm not returning dirty. Nasty.

Stopped in with the family after church, made a drive out to Madison because the wife wanted Ramen…read moreand we'd never been here. Kind of a hole in the wall place - seating is limited, one comfy four top and then a lot of stuff mostly designed for 1-2 people. The booths can hold 4 people, but it will be a tight 4. They will hand you a menu when you come in, but you will order at the counter when you are ready. Water and unsweet tea were self serve and free, they had canned Coke products (no Coke Zero) -- all the dishes were served in togo/disposable containers. Employees were extremely friendly. We ordered a variety of dishes to sample everything; shrimp katsu plate, chicken gyoza, chicken katsu, beef curry rice and tonkotsu Ramen. Prices are reasonable for Huntville - Curry or Ramen dishes are $15, Katsu plates $12, and Kids (Keiki) are $8. Portions were good and food came out quickly. Wife is half Asian and said all the food was food for the most part. She enjoyed her Ramen and my Curry. I was not a fan of the gyoza (might have been it being chicken and not pork) and felt the sear was light. Vegetables in my curry were huge, but that's a nitpick. Both my kids ate their ketsu and rice without complaint; chicken ketsu I stole was moist. Definitely give it a shot!

I always get the Wonton Ramen and definitely try the croquettes if you are looking for a crispy potato appetizer! Would definitely recommend. Each time we leave eager to come back!

I know there are plenty of Japanese restaurants in Birmingham, but in my opinion, Fuku is one of…read morethe best ones out there. They're a relatively small restaurant, but I've never had a wait to eat there. The staff are also very friendly in my experience. Fuku also does to-go orders if that's your thing. They serve a variety of Japanese dishes, as well as other popular Asian dishes (yes, they have boba tea as well). The cold soba is great on a warm summer day, but I think their ramen and rice dishes are even better. If you go to Fuku and aren't a picky eater/texture isn't too much of an issue, I strongly, strongly recommend trying their takoyaki (fried octopus balls). The sauce and garnish they put on top are delicious and pulls the whole appetizer together. But definitely make sure to wait awhile before getting a bite so they have time to cool.

I've only had ramen once before so I don't have a lot to compare it to but I thought it was excellent. I got the black garlic and my husband got the Tonkotsu Ramen with the fried pork cutlet. I'm not sure how but the pork stayed crispy floating in the broth. The pork in mine was so juicy and delicious, I was sad once I ate it all. The price is reasonable and then portions are large. I had enough for lunch the next day. A great spot all year round d but especially when it is cold out.
