Ate there yesterday and ordered off the lunch menu. Service was great. My better half ordered unsweet tea but it had an off taste, something like a chemical taste. Server swapped it with a soft drink. We both ordered teriyaki chicken with vegetables, white rice and a salad. Their ginger dressing is great. The meal was served; the broccoli in the vegetables was burnt and had very long tough stems. The chicken was amazingly tender but lacked taste. The rice was cooked perfectly. I feel like possibly one of the issues is the quality of food has gone down from the food supplier. The restaurant was very clean as it has always been when we have dined there in the past. We will try in a few months again to see if food has improved. I wont give up on them yet. Good folks run it. read more

the pregnant server was nice.. i tried a new sushi dish with tuna and the tuna was red..!? i told her i didn't want it, she proceeded to take my plate from the table. i picked another meal. we get the check and she tells me "he gave u a discount" on the sushi that was taken from the table. how about he took off -$1.64... it's giving insult, i really should've pulled a karen! If you like Sushi this is the place to go. Being from Northern California where Sushi restaurants are everywhere I can say I have had my fair share of fresh Sushi. Being that this place is not close to the coast means that it is harder for them to get high quality fresh seafood. Well don't worry because this place in the place to go. I've been to Rock N Roll and they are a great place as well but i enjoy Osaka much better. My wife and daughter like them better than any other place as well because of the other items on their menu. I work for MTM and have spoken to the Japanese advisors about different places to eat sushi and other Japanese food and this is the place that I have recommended every time. Small little Japanese restaurant in Hartselle, Alabama. This place has excellent service. They have a lot of different choices of sushi and hibachi style food of your choice. It also comes with rice and a salad with ginger dressing. We went for lunch, and it was excellent note they do not have an hibachi grill where you watch them cook. However, I do highly suggest to try it out if you were in the area and in the maple Japanese style food. read more

This place is quickly turning into my favorite restaurants. I've only lived in Hartselle a couple of months but I've lost count of how many times I've gone to Osaka Harselle. I'm addicted to the snow crab nurato. I get it every visit. I've also had several of the Bento Boxes--so much food! I have to say, in the chicken teriyaki bento box, the chicken was a tiny bit dry but that's been the only off note. Love their bento boxes. so filling. I've had their chicken soup and miso soup, both are delicious. The avocado salad is very good, and speaking of salad, I know the side salad with ginger dressing is basically just lettuce, but I do love that dressing. I've had the crab roll, California roll, and a few other rolls that I can't recall, but every last one was superb. I still need to check out the hibachi dinners but if they're anything like the rest of the food, I won't be disappointed. LOVE this place! read more

I can never get a Eel Avocado roll and it's not on the menu which should be fixed but they made it and it's perfect! I get it all the time. I'm trying one thing at a time takeout and so far all the things I have ordered are amazing! I don't understand the great reviews and only 4 stars. They deserve 5. I am so so happy our sleepy little town finally has a restaurant that has really really good food (besides 4 Mexican restaurants). I love it here! The hibachi is truly excellent. My favorite is the Shrimp & Scallop. It comes with a big mound of the most delicious rice( I always opt for fried rice) a big batch of grilled veggies, with soup AND salad to start. My husband gets the steak and chicken. Now, if you love sushi as much as I do, you will be very happy here. The Fire Roll is to die for. And the Rocky Salad to start is most excellent. Their menu has everything from small sushi rolls to specialty rolls and they are authentic. Plus many many hibachi options. The food is truly excellent, the servers are all nice girls too. They even recognize us when we walk in the door. They don't have a liquor license so we always get the hot Japanese green tea that comes in a pretty pot. The dumpling appetizer is excellent, as are the spring rolls.... You will not get a bad meal here. It's so nice to have a good sushi place in our tiny town! read more

We got a couple of the bento boxes and some sushi rolls. The bento boxes were a ton of food. The dumplings and spring rolls were especially good. The shrimp and veggies were well seasoned and not overcooked. The salad dressing was especially good. The spicy tuna roll was a good level of spicy. The shrimp tempura rolls were double shrimp, which was nice but a bit big for a single bite. We would go again. read more

Grew up in Orlando where I was always surrounded by great sushi restaurants. Kinda considered myself a sushi snob and struggled to find great options in the North Alabama area. Went into Osaka with my fiancee and was absolutely blown away! By far the most elaborate sushi menu I have ever seen! So many good options I struggled which roles to pick, guess I'll be going back often to try new stuff! Absolutely recommend. read more

We were out so gave them a try. Food was so so, just bland. Service was absolutely terrible. It took over 30 minutes just to get a drink and the bud boy came and took out order because he noticed we were agitated. They're were only people at 4 tables so they weren't very busy.
