They have extremely horrible customer service. They messed up our food completely, aka gave us the wrong thing. We ordered teriyaki chicken and got peppercorn steak. which is fine, I called up there, talked to the manager and he said they would fix it just come up there and bring back the wrong food to get the right food. We drove back up there about 20 minutes and while there I got a call from someone else not the original person and not the manager stating that what we got was the teriyaki chicken we ordered and not the steak. Looking at the food you can tell it was not teriyaki chicken but I wanted to be understanding. My boyfriend goes up there with the food where he is shown a picture of peppercorn steak and told this is peppercorn steak that's teriyaki chicken.... The picture was the same as what was in his hands. He tried to explain that is what is in his tray and no one would help us get the right thing after already telling me they would. We left. Got home again to eat the rest of the food and it was all unflavorful and cooked weirdly. The only thing right was the fortune cookies and they don't make those. read more

I've eaten here a couple times and they deliver a consistent dish. The pork fried rice was good, but a little bland. I'd like a little more flavor to the dish. The egg rolls were pretty good as was the hot sour soup. While the soup had great spice, there was a lack of balance on the sour side. Still alright. It has been several months since I've been here. It was still good. The General Tso's chicken plate with rice was pretty tasty. The egg roll was a tad salty though. It was $8 for the plate. I used to prefer this place over others in town, but not so much anymore. I like other places just as much, including the Panda Express right in the same plaza. read more

This place has about the best Chinese food around Decatur. I've been to a handful of the Chinese restaurants here and for take out they are the best. Be careful of the lobster (fake) dishes though. They will "special " order if you like also. Their brown sauce is wonderful and veggies always fresh. Quick food in 15 minutes. read more

I've had some bad Chinese food before, but this makes it look like fine dining. The crab Rangoon (angles) were made with some yellow cheese instead of cream cheese, and they were dripping with grease. The spring roll and the egg roll were the same, and the general's chicken was so spicy that I couldn't finish it, and sour too! My mom had a tiny metal bristle piece in her chicken (like from a grill brush). I also had a few metal pieces, along with bone shards in my general tso's chicken. Not to mention onion skin (outer skin that should be thrown away) in my lo mien. We didn't finish the food and won't be back. I'd give zero stars now if I could. This place was once my families go-to place for Chinese, then the store changed owners. They still give generous portions but NOT worth it for the metal and bone shards! BEST.EGG.ROLLS.EVER. Don't waste your money at a buffet, go to New China!! The coconut chicken is on my mind almost every day. Rachel is my favorite person ever to talk on the phone with (and I'm pretty sure she knows who is ordering when they ask for extra coconut sauce HAHAHAHA). We eat here very often and have not had a single bad experience. Also love the vegetable lo mein and pepper steak. Since posting my first review for New China something has changed. The food used to be great. Over the last few months I have noticed different staff and a change in the taste of the food. When asked if new people own it the staff says they are on vacation. Well whoever is running the place now and cooking the food is ruining the business. Other reviews mention the same issues. This place used to be really good. It's going way downhill now. The spring rolls were so salty we could hardly eat them. STILL the best Chinese in Decatur. I was concerned when the fastfoodchinese opened in this same shopping center, but skip that drive thru, where you get about 1/4th the food for the same price, and pull in to New China. I've been eating there for at least a decade, and their food is consistently wonderful. I can (and have!) stopped in JUST to get an order of their crab angles, which are truly swoon-worthy in my book. They have the best beef and broccoli anywhere, the broccoli is never over cooked like it is at so many other places. I've called in orders before, but honestly their service is so speedy you might as well just order at the counter, it doesn't take long even though everything is cooked to order. Really can't say enough about this place...I was briefly visiting a place nearer to my house, but then thought WHY am I settling?! Back to New China, no contest. read more

I've been going to this place for nearly a decade. Very inexpensive, and they have huge portions. Great for lunch. Might just be the best value in town. Only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that sodas are canned and I've had many that are out-of-date. read more
