I've eaten here a couple times and they deliver a consistent dish. The pork fried rice was good, but a little bland. I'd like a little more flavor to the dish. The egg rolls were pretty good as was the hot sour soup. While the soup had great spice, there was a lack of balance on the sour side. All together, decent Chinese carry out that tastes pretty good and is priced very well. read more

Still alright. It has been several months since I've been here. It was still good. The General Tso's chicken plate with rice was pretty tasty. The egg roll was a tad salty though. It was $8 for the plate. I used to prefer this place over others in town, but not so much anymore. I like other places just as much, including the Panda Express right in the same plaza. read more

This place has about the best Chinese food around Decatur. I've been to a handful of the Chinese restaurants here and for take out they are the best. Be careful of the lobster (fake) dishes though. They will "special " order if you like also. Their brown sauce is wonderful and veggies always fresh. Quick food in 15 minutes. read more

I love this place and have been ordering takeout here for years! They always make my order special with steamed veggies and fried tofu! And, of course an egg roll. I've had some bad Chinese food before, but this makes it look like fine dining. The crab Rangoon (angles) were made with some yellow cheese instead of cream cheese, and they were dripping with grease. The spring roll and the egg roll were the same, and the general's chicken was so spicy that I couldn't finish it, and sour too! The only reason why I give 2 stars is because the rice was good and the building was breezy and cool in the hot summer. read more

My mom had a tiny metal bristle piece in her chicken (like from a grill brush). I also had a few metal pieces, along with bone shards in my general tso's chicken. Not to mention onion skin (outer skin that should be thrown away) in my lo mien. We didn't finish the food and won't be back. I'd give zero stars now if I could. This place was once my families go-to place for Chinese, then the store changed owners. They still give generous portions but NOT worth it for the metal and bone shards! Best take out Chinese in the area (personal favs are Shrimp with lobster sauce ,moo goo gai pan, chicken fried rice,egg foo young, egg rolls, crab wontons, and Dragon and Phoenix) Have been coming since they open the only problem is drinks ...unless you like tea .. BEST.EGG.ROLLS.EVER. Don't waste your money at a buffet, go to New China!! The coconut chicken is on my mind almost every day. Rachel is my favorite person ever to talk on the phone with (and I'm pretty sure she knows who is ordering when they ask for extra coconut sauce HAHAHAHA). We eat here very often and have not had a single bad experience. Also love the vegetable lo mein and pepper steak. Since posting my first review for New China something has changed. The food used to be great. Over the last few months I have noticed different staff and a change in the taste of the food. When asked if new people own it the staff says they are on vacation. Well whoever is running the place now and cooking the food is ruining the business. Other reviews mention the same issues. This place used to be really good. It's going way downhill now. The spring rolls were so salty we could hardly eat them. We've eaten here twice while traveling. Both times our entire family ordered the coconut chicken and egg rolls. The egg rolls were tasty but the chicken is the star, I highly recommend it. The portions are large and my husband and I were able to split 1 dinner order of coconut chicken. read more

STILL the best Chinese in Decatur. I was concerned when the fastfoodchinese opened in this same shopping center, but skip that drive thru, where you get about 1/4th the food for the same price, and pull in to New China. I've been eating there for at least a decade, and their food is consistently wonderful. I can (and have!) stopped in JUST to get an order of their crab angles, which are truly swoon-worthy in my book. They have the best beef and broccoli anywhere, the broccoli is never over cooked like it is at so many other places. I've called in orders before, but honestly their service is so speedy you might as well just order at the counter, it doesn't take long even though everything is cooked to order. Really can't say enough about this place...I was briefly visiting a place nearer to my house, but then thought WHY am I settling?! Back to New China, no contest. read more
