We went on a Saturday by road. We were seated immodestly by a smiling face. Our waitress was awesome through our meal. Very attentive. We got the cup of gumbo just to give it a try. Don't sleep on it. It was really good and if you could pair it with a grilled cheese, buddy look out! I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich. It was brined and very delicious. Fresh veggies Waffle fries were very good. My wife got the trigger fish and that was amazing!! Will definitely be back. So much better than trident. You actually get a waitress! We live close and will be back a lot more. read more

Nice place. A pretty spot on Smith lake. You can sit outside to look at the water or inside. Inside, the bar is by the window, so you can't really see the lake. I didn't see many gluten-free options so I got the salad. The salad was good. The crab cakes tasted great but they were small in portion. The servers were wonderful! I only wish they had more gluten-free options. read more

We just decided to walk in and give it a try. The service was so good. Everyone is so friendly. We had a lot of questions about the area and our server, Lily, was great with all her history of the area. The food was delicious. I had a blackened chicken sandwich that was huge. I couldn't finish. My friend had a chicken, walnut strawberry salad with raspberry vinaigrette. So so good! The restaurant has a great atmosphere. Wish we could come back for live music. We plan to come back again some day. It's a must if you are in the neighborhood. We just took a day trip down here from Huntsville. We hung out extra long because of storm roll read more

Quality food that you can drive your boat to! I would put tridents food. Tick above, but they do have a few more options here and it is good. read more

Drifters catered our sons rehearsal dinner at the Barn at Smith Lake. The couple wanted steak and grilled chicken and Drifters provided an excellent meal, hot and cooked to order, including delicious sides and a fantastic salad. We were extremely happy and satisfied with the staff that served us as well as the yummy food and some of the best bread pudding I have ever had. Tanya and her staff were very professional, friendly and provided the service of a highly rated restaurant anywhere in the State. I can't say how much we enjoyed working with them to make this night special for our family. read more

Terrible food and terrible service. Way too overpriced. Definitely will not be back. Save yourself the disappointment and go to Trident.

Food was great. Service however was lackluster at best. We sat at the bar for 25 minutes before our presence was even acknowledged. We expected to have a wait but not ignored completely. When we finally got a table it took another 25 minutes to get our drinks. Appetizers came out after the food. Basic refills were handled by the manager. I would also consider screening in the deck to diminish the fly interference. We look forward to a Drifter's treat when the service issues are resolved. read more

My family and I went to Mother's Day lunch today at Drifters. When we got there, we ordered our appetizers and entrees. The apps came out about 20 minutes after we ordered them. They had to come back 4-5 times to make sure our entree orders were correct (how'd you want you steak cooked again, did you want that shrimp fried or blackened, etc.). We had a party of 8 and one child with us. After about an hour of waiting, we began getting our food. 3 of the 8 never received their entree until the other 5 of us had finished eating. The waitress came up and asked if we needed anything else and we politely told her the 3 entrees. After another 20 minutes, we told them not to worry about it and we would just leave if they could take it off of our tab. After we asked them, the manager then came up to us and blamed us for "the way we ordered" and that's why it was taking so long and still tried to get us to pay for the food. Besides the experience, the food was not very good and it was super expensive considering what I have mentioned before. My family and I will not be back. read more
