I got a contract with George Brazil to do annual checkups and the technician told me I needed to get a new capacitor (because mine supposedly failed) and it would cost $300 to replace it. So, I removed the capacitor and took it to Discount A/C Outlet and had Wayne test it. He did, and it was fully powered. Even more powerful than a new one out of the box (I know, cuz he showed me). Which means the George Brazil technician flat-out LIED to make a sale. Thanks to the honesty of Discount A/C Outlet, I just saved myself $300. And, they just made themselves a customer for life. These guys are absolutely awesome.... My experience : called them early in the morning on Thursday ... asking if they carried a capacitor for my Ac unit .. they advised I come in and pick one up. I arrived around 9, they tested my capacitor and told me all was well with it. Most shops would have stopped there ... but these guys took the time to ask me what the other symptoms that went along with my unit not working ... they advised me that I should pickup a transformer and a fuse for my board. I purchased the transformer from them and a fuse ( oh they should have carried this and the plumbers tape... but oh well ) ... went back home and after installing both ... no joy . I called them back ...based on the offer that they made to call back if it wasn't working afterward . I reached someone new ... bit all was good he patiently walked through the issue on the phone ... advised me nicely that after assembly I needed to wait 15 minutes for the final verdict ... and YES it worked. Great guys, good service , they likely carry what you're looking for, they sell to the public ( no one else will ) and they're friendly and service oriented ... Awesome !!! Just moved back to Arizona needed a motor for old unit to get me by til first of year. Called a few places and got quotes from $700 to $800 , a neighbor suggested I stop by and see these guys that weren't far from me. Glad I did. They're. Small ma pa type of business I had to ask the young man Ed if he was correct in price he quoted me! He assured me they had the lowest prices in the east valley. Bottom line these guys explained to me in layman terms how to replace my motor and were extremely helpful. Even called me that night to make sure I got my AC up and running. A/C went out and made the calls; earliest appointment was 48 hours away. When I determined it was the condensing unit fan motor that failed, I expected to pay $800-$1200 (this is the fifth time I've had to replace a motor). Amazon had replacements for $199 but 3 day delivery. I called around part stores and nobody would sell direct and one person suggested Discount A/C near me. I gave part number and they confirmed $265. Headed down and they had it ready. But they also trimmed the wires, connected my old color wires to match my pictures, added a new capacitor and gave me specific directions how to electrical tape and hang the wires out of the way. That was worth way more than $65 extra in service. Got home, installed in 45 minutes only because it was 110 degrees. AC now running ice cold like it was the day before. Will NEVER go anywhere else to buy parts when I can handle my own repairs. Would give 10 stars if I could. read more

I know nothing about AC except it keeps you alive in AZ come summer time. My AC stopped working when it was 110 ouside. I went onto Youtube to trouble shoot. The Capacitor was the probable cause. I called around and the only business that would sell me a repalcement was Discount AC. All the other places you must have an AC contractors licsence. The short drive was worth it. This place is amazing. Been there three or four times. Each time, they've had the part I needed and helped explain things. They've never tried to oversell me. I disagree with people who complain about a $45 capacitor. Sure, maybe you can get it for $10-$20 online ... and wait 2-3 days to get it. I'd rather pay a few extra bucks and make sure these people stay in business. My A/C died on a Sunday night. I was in there first thing Monday morning and replaced the capacitor. I would have spent a lot more than $45 if I called someone out to replace it same day. And who can wait days in July for a capacitor to arrive? read more

Went in to purchase a capacitor for my a/c. Should have been a $10 part, (Grainger sells it for $8, but this place was closer) and I was quoted $35+ tax. Their justification: it would cost $175 from a repairman. So I supposed that makes it ok? I needed the part right away, so I bought it, at a not-so-discounted price. It's a shame what places will do when they know the temperature is rising. Better off to go to a place that has the prices written down, instead of a sliding scale based on your need. Eddie return my call on a SUNDAY NIGHT! Gave me a few options and confirmed what I was seeing. He was there Monday at 8:00 AM and I purchased a condenser fan motor from him. He set it up because it was not OEM so that I could wire back in. Overall pricing is OK. Yes you can get cheaper online, but there is no way they could have had it to me the next morning. Also, the fan blade was stuck on my old motor and he removed it so that I could install on my new motor. I would have spent a bunch of time having to do that and he knew just what to do. I got it all together and had it installed in a little over an hour. We have had cool air all day! I am sure he would have helped if I had issues with it. I would buy from him again. 100+ degree weather and our motor blower goes out ugh. We had several companies come and and they all stated it would be well over 1400.00 to repair (double ugh) so we check the warranty on our ac system and to our dismay it was just out of range grrrr. So there we were hacking it out with 4 kids in one room with 2 fans trying to keep cool. I scowered the internet eBay,Amazon and offer up looking for the part no luck!!! Then I came across this place on yelp and thought I'd give them a call. The gentleman explained everything to me in layman's terms so that I could understand why it was so expensive and what exactly I needed. He told me that if they stated the motor is the part that went out then that's what I needed not the computer part of it and that he had one for around 800.00. Still anxious about spending that much especially since it was right before school started and I needed to get the kids supplies ...I went the next morning. Great and friendly service. Sure as anything local prices might be higher than you will find online for repair parts but worth every penny for being local and getting it right away. In trying to get an AC unit on a Park Model so the blower wouldn't run 100% of the time I thought the motor was hooked up wrong. Spent $85 on an AC Repairman who didn't figure it out and thought we would be better off with a new unit. Diagnosed it some more on my own and determined that the blower delay relay wasn't sending power to the blower contactor relay and hence that is why they rewired the blower motor the way they did to run all of the time. Called around and Eddie was very helpful and I told him the part number that I had found on the web that looked familiar. He said they had a used one that was probably the same price online as a new one but to me being local it was worth far more. It worked but then the contactor wasn't working but sure enough they had a new one of those parts also. And not to mention the free advice they gave me and confirming how I thought the motor should be wired was correct. read more

My A/C tripped the main breaker a few weeks ago, so I replaced it. Yet, yesterday, the new breaker was tripped when I got home after work. I called my A/C repair man, but he was booked. He told me what he suspected, so I went to The Discount A/C Outlet to get a new capacitor. I assumed that the associate, Eddie, was the owner due to his impeccable knowledge, explanations and super kind demeanor! I was shocked that he wasn't the owner, but the owner is blessed to have Eddie on the counter! Eddie explained to me that my system required 2 capacitors, 1 for the compressor and 1 for the fan. He gave me tips on installing the 2 new parts, including safety tips. Due to Eddie, my system is working perfectly! Also, their pricing is extremely fair/reasonable and all parts have a 1 year warranty.
