I would have given 1 star, but the tech they sent over was such a great guy and did everything he could to help so I gave an extra star. I'd give the tech 5 stars, but as a company, Savage did not meet my expectation. They left me in the lurch and were perfectly OK to leave me without cooling and without a path to resolution in AUGUST in Phoenix. I had an issue with my A/C unit blowing tepid air. The tech came out and after all the testing/diagnostics found out that the system was low on Puron. There's obviously a leak, so I approved him to start the process of finding it. He mentioned that it would take about two hours to find it, and after it was found they could put a bit more Puron in my system as a stop gap to hold me over until the repairs could be made. Here is where the first shock came to me. I was quoted that the first pound of Puron would be nearly $500, which is a ridiculous amount to charge. The tech exhausted the 2 hours of leak testing and was not able to pinpoint the leak. He mentioned that the Savage front office would contact me about scheduling more time for them to continue the search. He called his boss and was told that they were not able to temporarily charge my system since the leak wasn't found. Despite my logical deduction that if the system still has some Puron and the leak wasn't obvious, then it must be a small leak. Therefore, they should be able to temporarily charge my system while we continue the search/repair process. This was denied and they would not provide me any resolution for a system that wasn't working even though it's in the hottest part of the year. It's now been three days since this happened, and nobody from their front office has reached out to me to reschedule anything. Based on their willingness to leave an entire family without cooling in August when they could easily provide a temporary solution and their obvious price gouging, Savage clearly doesn't care about their customers. Avoid at all costs. Thankfully I was able to contact another company who were able to come out the same day to provide me a reasonable price for a temporary charge while we continue debugging the system. read more

Savage air conditioning is the best AC repair shop in an entire valley! Last January I called Savage air after I was told that my 30-year-old TRANE air conditioner needed to be replaced . I called Savage air for a second opinion , and Michael was able to diagnose a bad disconnect along with a bad breaker. This solve the problem! This january, well I was cleaning my coils, I flooded out my unit and it would not work. I figured that I must have done some damage to the electrical system. I just replaced two 18-year-old AC/furnace units with two heat pump units with Savage Air Conditioning. I did the same research as in the past (4 quotes) and found Savage Air Conditioning's quote to be reasonable for the product provided and scope of work needed. Dave's quote was accurate to the day, 5 day install, beating everyone who stated, "3 days max". It was a big job made worse by the terrible attic access I have. The team worked to get the old units out in a too-small scuttle hole in the ceiling. They disassembled the old units in the ceiling and managed to get the old units out and the new units in. I did not think they would fit but I was wrong. The team protected our hardwood floors with Ramboard, swept & vacuumed every day, and used drop cloths to catch the dusty and debris that came out of the ceiling access. After the work was complete you wouldn't know they were there. Some new ducting, a zone controller & damper, and a new return fixed a part of the house that never was cool enough or warm enough to feel comfortable. The crew who came out who were very professional and a pleasure to have in our home. We have a puppy and adult dog who loved their company and would happily greet them as they came in and out of our home. I'm 5 for 5 with Savage Air Conditioning and highly recommend them. read more

Not sure exactly what happened to our AC unit, but it wasn't working. I called Savage Air at 6:45 am and talked to an answering service. That person relayed the message to Savage and within 20 minutes, Pat from Savage called me. Within two hours, I had a technician at my house and he fixed the issue. I have used their service twice so far, and both times they have been able to get someone out on the very same day (in July, in AZ!) and repairs were very quick. Both of the technicians that have done repairs were very friendly and also informative and explained things thoroughly with me. Great install but absolutely the worse followup service. Calls X3 are never returned. Not delayed return, I mean NEVER! A technian came out, looked at the issue and left. Radiosilence ever since. When I called to have them at least repair what they dismantled, again no return call. I had to find another company to patch what they dismantled. Late Sunday, our A/C started vibrating wildly - like an unbalanced washer that walks! It looked like it might fly apart. My husband cut the power and I could see one fan blade sheared off. We called Savage first thing Monday and they sent Jesse out the same day. He called to check part availability and when it was in stock, he went to get it, came back and fixed our problem the same day. I think it was the hottest day of the year so far. They came out the next day and told me that I need a whole new unit and were pushing me a 17k unit even after I asked the tech of there is anything else we can do to fix my unit. I was suckered at Home Depot buying a "tune up", they sent out Parker and Sons who quoted me $750 for a coil cleanup. I declined their estimate and called Savage A/C to come give me a quote. After speaking with their appointment taker over the phone I knew I had made the right choice. This company is what every service business should emulate. The service using Home Depot was disappointing and Savage made up for it by cleaning the outdoor coil and giving me the lowdown on the work actually needed which was none. I've used Savage air ever since they replaced my ancient AC unit about 5 years ago. I always recommended them to my friends but I guess my reviews are too glowing and they end up spending 5 times (not an exaggeration) what I paid or they get some discount part-time yokel who just can't seem to get it right. Just added a wireless thermostat through Savage that was SRP approved so I got that rebate plus the manufacturer discount and so paid a very small amount out of pocket. My A/C Unit started to blow warm air, so I needed an A/C Specialist and quick. I started to read many reviews from various companies and decided to call "Savage Air Conditioning because of the many positive reviews they have. I called and spoke to Pat, who was friendly and polite, as she collected all my information and immediately gave me an appointment for early afternoon. Jesse was the A/C Specialist who arrived and immediately noticed where my A/C leak was coming from. He explained to me, your freon leak was in a good place to be repaired, so I gave him the ok to fix the problem. Long story short, Jesse did repair the freon leak and recharged the complete A/C System. Now my home is ice cold once again. Savage really is great. We use them once a year in the Spring for an AC tune-up. They've never charged us more than $85 and I have never felt that the tune-up was a foot in the door sales technique. Staff has always been friendly and my wife loves that it is the same technician that comes every time. We recently purchased a new house and had Savage come out to take a look at our intakes (it was a set up I wasn't familiar with). The technician spent 45 minutes with my wife explaining the system and did not charge for his time. These days, companies nickel and dime customers every chance they get. I purchased a Daikin 5 ton 2 stage 16 seer heat pump from Savage aIr with the help of their REP Jackson. And boy I am glad I did. I had heard of Daikin from a friend but after 5 estimates None offered Daikin except savage and I am very happy they did. Jackson came out and took care of the financing and warranty for us. The unit came with a 12 year parts and labor warranty. And they offer flexible financing( smaller payments) with a little bit more interest which I liked. The install was good and Jackson was great. He came out after the install and found a problem with a small compression valve which he spent 2 trips checking the system to get it running perfect. Now it runs great and it is better than the train because the fan distributes the cold air throughout the house much more efficiently than the train. There were small issues with the other companies as one of them never returned my calls about questions.Another one did I t even have a warranty unless I paid 1,800 dollars extra. read more

I didn't realize when I called them they were on the other side of town but they came out to my house anyway. I told them I was looking to replace my 5 ton air conditioning unit on one side of my house AND I wanted a Trane. They were extremely frank about TRANE products and told me that yes...years ago...they were great....now...meh. So after reading some reviews of TRANE, I came to the same conclusion. The TRANE support was meh. So they said they thought this other brand with the better warranty and better support might work out for you. It was a bit pricier but I think it made more sense. I ordered it and they came to remove and replace it, fixed the stand that the air conditioner was supposed to lay on as part of it. Then they said, they gave me a slightly larger unit....Wow! The unit works like a charm and I love it. They are a beautiful company with a customer friendly and family feel to them. Love them!!! A big shout out! read more
