What a nice tucked away place. Tucked within a strip mall, it's well worth entering even if through the back entrance due to front parking lot being full. This place had lots of history of Tyler going way back. The photographs in the wall are very interesting. The rugged. Rustic decor is a good reminder of Texas's. Cassie my server was very good. Enjoyed her upbeat demeanor. She was very prompt as well. My BLT and potato soup were very yummy. I will make sure to stop here again when I return again to Tyler.

Excellent pancakes, fluffy, a bit of chew, perfect sweetness!

This is a must visit for breakfast if in the area! It is easy to find (end of a strip mall) and has plenty of parking (on side and in back). The staff are friendly, helpful and will treat you like family (the kind of family you like). They are true 5 star level! The decor is clean, country themed, and welcoming. The other 5 stars are the FOOD! The menu is large with a wide variety of offerings. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and it is the REAL DEAL! Real steak, perfect crunchy batter, great flavor, and the best pepper cream gravy I've had in decades! Seriously! It is thick, smooth, excellent flavor, and lots of it! I bet it is good on biscuits, which I didn't have. My eggs were made perfectly cooked to order, over medium. My breakfast dessert were 2 fluffy with a touch of chew blueberry pancakes. REALLY good. They brought out a bottle of hot syrup. Price is reasonable and we'll be back the next time we are in the area!

There's Nothing quite like an American diner breakfast on a rainy storming morning! I ordered the sausage biscuit and crabcake Benedict. Sausage biscuit tasted like it was a jimmy deans microwaveable. The crabcake Benedict was different. I tried the poached egg and wasn't pleased. The texture taste and look of the crabcake was different than what I'm used to seeing with crabcakes. I'm not sure if this was premade or an unconventional recipe used to make it. I waited approximately 36 minutes for this order and witnessed 3 couples just leaving in that amount of time due to the long wait. The food came out barely warm as well for something I would have thought been cooked fresh. The only thing I liked about this place was the greeter and the waitress were very kind and well mannered and respectful. I love the southern hospitality from the employees but I dislike the idle time for the food and the quality from the cook.

Busy place but large enough that the wait is minimal. I ordered the Mini waffle sampler: banana pudding, red velvet, cinnamon roll waffles. Ty hey are served with warm syrup (yum!). They also offer decaf coffee and it was so good. No funky taste like At so many other places. And they also offer flavored creamers...bonus! Very friendly service and great food!

Overall average experience here. The food was fine. Nothing to rave about but also nothing to complain about. The bench they placed us at was slightly broken, but no big deal. The service was fast, but not spectacular. A prosaic restaurant to eat brunch.

By reviews this seemed a place to have breakfast. Sorry wasn't impressed! We were seated pretty quickly for a Sunday morning. It's kind of hard to explain but there is a wall separating the entrance from the actual seating area, but it extends way down. We were seated at a table for two right by the front windows. I told my hubs that I felt like we were not part of the restaurant because of this wall. He said well it's kinda of cozy. Server arrived quickly and took our drink order. Hubs ordered a latte which came in a plastic to go cup. Strange to me. Hubs ordered to migas and biscuit and gravy. I had the one egg, with one strip of bacon and potatoes, rye toast. The hubs did not complain, my egg that was supposed to be scrambled was just flat. Potatoes were good, toast was good. Bacon meaty! I got up to use the restroom and the wall had booths on the other side. Oh getting up out of my booth seat, the seat almost came apart. Also the gravy just tasted like powder mix. Would have been great if sausage was in it. Sorry just was not impressed with this place or the food, service was friendly.

The Diner has the best pancakes in town! The batter they use isn't like all the other breakfast chains that I've been too in town. Service was quick and I was in and out in under 30 mins.

The service was excellent. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The chicken fried steak sandwich was very good! I used some of the country gravy from my mom's biscuits and gravy rather than using mayo. I'd say it was 4.5/5. The cinnamon roll was 4/5. The cinnamon roll was likely average on its own, but the frosting brings it up a star. Mom said the biscuit and gravy good... The sausage was average. Would definitely go back though. Everything is reasonably priced. The place was clean, spacious, and not loud.

First time here ~ Katie, our waitress & Amanda, the manager were both very friendly. There was a little wait for our table which seemed weird because it really wasn't busy. We ordered our food & it took quite a while to get it ~ at least 30 minutes or more. The green tomatoes were so yummy!! The chopped steak was good too but the gravy was SO salty. The green beans didn't have a lot of flavor. The sweet tea was really good too ~ a TX must! Parking it a little tight to get into; We would probably go back but drinks make sure we could have a long lunch.

Breakfast was on point. Fresh brewed coffee. My daughter ordered chicken and waffles. I ordered omelet with French toast. Waiter brought a WARM bottle of syrup to the table. Fantastic detail. I hate that I didn't get a picture of the omelet. It was superb. Definitely will recommend and eat here again.

Food delicious, we (myself, mom and sister) had the Migas skillet, avocado toast, and #6 small plate with sides of grits and a pancake with warm syrup!). Everything was great. Excellent Service: Riley took care of us, very accommodating and good knowledge of menu. Ambiance: typical diner. Nice music, not too loud. Nice and chilly temperature. The place was clean and tidy including the bathrooms. Will definitely return when I come back to Tyler.

Lena was a Rockstar! She expertly handled my 'goofy' coffee order twice AND Always refilled coffee/water before we had to ask. Great personality got our orders correct! We love the Diner on Sundays after Mass (see earlier review). My wife, like a recent reviewer, also loves the 'Ironman' breakfast. She takes half home to enjoy for dinner later. I tried the Migas skillet. Fantastic! Love the atmosphere and very cool pictures inside from 'back in the day' We try to come here every other Sunday!

There's plenty of nice local establishments, but some can be pricey and some are just more casual than you want. Scott Williams has perfected the restaurants of Tyler that are balanced between affordable and still quite nice. He got his toes in the water with FDs, before expanding into Javi's, Twelve, and now the fanciest of them all in III Palms. I thought of all those options, Twelve would be the most unique and tasty for my girlfriend and I. We went in an hour before they closed on a Sunday and were seated immediately. We weren't too hungry so we didn't expect to be there past their closing time, and we were ready to go. Our waiter was quick and attentive, bringing us water and helping us decide on drinks from the bar and our order. He also showed us their insane over-the-top whiskey menu. If you like whiskey, give Twelve a shot I guess. To order, I just got their 'Osaka Style' Pressed Roll while my girlfriend got a Sushi Bowl Salad. We got Sweet Potato Fries to share. As for drinks, I started with their Monkey See, Monkey Do, an impressive and firm beverage, while my girlfriend ordered their Destin Dream, a fun Pina Colada-like drink. It wasn't long before our food came out. The sushi was beautifully plated with some wasabi and pickled ginger on the side. I destroyed all the rolls. They were all very fresh and very high quality, which was remarkable for their $13.50 price tag. My girlfriend's sushi bowl looked insane. She ate most of it, but I filled the gaps and devoured the rest of it. The sweet potato fries were crispy and heavenly like all sweet potato fries usually are. I felt adventurous and I got a second drink of their Rose Garden, which was simple but flavorful. Compared to FDs, the menu might be a little more sea-inspired and more adventurous, but I think it leads to better, more unique food, especially with offerings like Oyster Rockefeller and a sushi bar. I also know Twelve does a great brunch as well, so keep that on your radar. Ultimately, as the bill came, the price was very manageable even with the alcohol. It's nice that you don't fully have to break the bank to have a nice meal in Tyler thanks to places like Twelve. I rate it a 12/10. Get it? hahahaha... RIYL: A slightly adventurous, but affordable night out.
