1/2 tuna melt with a cup of turkey chili
    Shirley N.

The five of us dropped in for lunch yesterday when our initial lunch place didn't pan out. We were seated at a round table which I really appreciated. And as usual I recognized someone having lunch there. It never fails. The restaurant attracts both golfers and non golfers. This time it was my neighbor from across the street. I took a look at the menu. Many new items since I ate here several months back. I was coming so often over the years I had tried practically everything on the menu. Looks like the menu has been revamped. So I really had to study the menu this time. I went with the birria pork taco salad. Everything in the salad had its own place on the plate. That's pretty much how I ate it rather than mixing it all together. I liked the dish but it's a one time thing for me. My go to is still the 1/2 turkey chili and 1/2 sandwich. Service was attentive and my Arnold Palmer refilled a couple of times.

The service is excellent. The food is spot on. I always enjoy coming to the atmosphere. It is mellow and enjoyable.

Food, service and ambience were good and it was my first time here. Came here with friends and the table was right in the corner near the window with a beautiful view. We each ordered something different and I had the Harding Club Sandwich with coleslaw. Ample parking at this location as it is a golf course. Reservations are accepted!

All my life living in SF and never tried Cypress Grill. Kiddo was in golf camp at Harding Park for the summer and, while waiting for him, decided to check this place out for lunch. Arrived at about noon on Friday and we're able to get a table without waiting. Most of the tables indoors were occupied and quite a few outside as well. Lunch menu consisted mainly of salads and sandwiches. I decided on a bowl of clam chowder ($10) to share with the hubs and the Cali BLT with a side of the Caesar ($18). Hubs ordered the Spicy Fried Chicken sandwich ($20). It's a bit on the pricier side, but the food was good. Could taste the lemon zest in the chowder which is different from other chowders I've had but it made the chowder taste light and fresh. The side salad was decently portioned with just the right amount of dressing, and I really liked the BLT that also has avocado. Perfect amount - not too full and just right. As we sat near the kitchen and could hear the orders being called out, it appears the Spicy fried chicken sandwich is a popular order. Hubs liked it and said the chicken was moist and good texture with the brioche bun. Fries were also crispy and hot. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal. I thought I saw a breakfast menu and would really like to return to try that next time.

Somehow we ended up out here. I had not been here since the Presidents Cup back in 2009. It is beautiful to view while having lunch. Wear your Panama, you can sit outside. Pretty extensive menu, covering salads, sandwiches, breakfast items. We got the Chinese Chicken salad. The bowl is deceiving, I kept eating as I figured I was coming to the last of it! It was good and filling. They could keep the bathroom a lot cleaner.

Lunch with a nice view AND plenty of free parking in SF!

Dad: "Let's meet somewhere different for lunch, what about Cypress Grill?" Me *Immediately checks Yelp*: "Ummm, sure?" I've never heard of Cypress Grill and I'm sure a majority of you have never heard of it either. Initially, I thought it was in/near Cypress Lawn (cemetery) but that would be creepy. Perusing Yelp, there was nothing hot, trendy, or exciting about Cypress Grill. It seemed like a place that the Golden Girls would lunch at... Blanche would be all over those $11 martinis and throwing herself at all golfers here. Love that floozy! Ladies, if you're looking for a sugar daddy...this may be a good place to start. Just sayin'. Getting to the point, I went into Cypress Grill with low expectations and left pleasantly surprised. It's a low key restaurant located in a golf course clubhouse inside Harding Park BUT you won't find anything like this in the city.... A meal with a view: https://bit.ly/2HCoFto AND plenty of free parking...IN San Francisco! Cypress Grill is open to the public for breakfast and lunch serving typical American fare: Omelets, Pancakes, Hash, Salads, Soups, Sandwiches, and Burgers. Every last Tuesday of the month, they have a Prime Rib Dinner Special (Adults - $45, and Kids - $25). Happy Hour is Monday - Thursday, 4 pm to close: 20% off Bar Bites (wings, calamari, nachos, fries, etc). All the ingredients are locally sourced. There's a full bar and Grey Goose seems to be their choice of booze here. Goose cocktails are ONLY $11! I ordered the Turkey Pot Pie: Fresh turkey breast, carrots, celery, onions, peas, white wine, crispy puff pastry top served w/ a side salad ($16): https://bit.ly/2WaFS0l. Served deconstructed style, the pot pie was surprising good. The piping hot ramekin of pot pie filling was deliciously rich, hearty, and chockful of shredded turkey breast and tender veggies (not mushy). Y'all know how much I hate white meat because it tends to taste like punishment so I was happy that the turkey breast was very tender. It was crowned with a golden brown puffed pastry that was beautifully flaky and ohhh so satisfying with the gravy. The pot pie was accompanied by a side salad and your choice of dressing. I choose the sesame-soy dressing which was fine. It's hard to get whoo hooo over a salad but it helped break up the richness of the dish. My dad ordered the Fish Tacos ($18) which apparently a dish he always orders here and liked it. My stepmother ordered the Turkey Melt ($17) which comes with a fried onion ring in the middle for a textural contrast. She said, it was really good. Service was solid. Patrick, our friendly server was there when we needed him. Food service was prompt. Dining area is dated but you're here for the view! Make sure to get there early to snag a table with a view. I got there at 10:55 am on a Sunday and snagged the last table by the window. It's an older crowd so weekend brunch was very peaceful. I saw a lot of people walking their dogs and we confirmed with staff that the grounds are dog-friendly (except on the actual golf course). Please don't ruin it for the rest of us - keep your dog on a leash and pick up after him/her! There's dog-friendly seating outside in the patio but with a limited menu: https://bit.ly/2MsN1oy. I know a lot of people hate coming into the city because of traffic, construction, parking, etc. Shoot, that's why I'm always heading to the Peninsula and South Bay on the weekends. Cypress Grill is a good option if you're looking for a low key place with decent food, a nice view, and plenty of free parking!

    Corn beef hash

I've been taking my parents to this grill for over two years. It's become our weekend ritual to have breakfast/brunch at cypress grill. The waiters and waitresses are always so friendly and attentive, always making sure that our dining experience there is pleasant. They have fast service, a quiet and clean environment, and spacious tabling setup. I've tried just about everything on this menu and I can safely say my go to's are the 2 by 2 by 2 for breakfast or the corn beef hash plate paired with house coffee and the half sandwich and half soup for lunch. Being a golfer myself, dining here while watching golfers play the 18th hole of Harding Park is always a fun view! Definitely recommend sitting by the window if available upon arrival.

The reason why I gave it a 3 was the service, it wasn't bad but it was very uninviting, the people who was helping us didn't seem enthusiastic to have served us and kept a very straight and monotone voice was talking to us. half way through it felt like they wanted us to leave. Overall this was a decent place. For the food: the chicken was huge! though it was very standard and pretty dry in certain parts, the burger was much better in my opinion and actually worth getting maybe with some fries but they are 7$. The beef taretare was delicious and we devoured it.

For those of us who only eat outdoors, there are a few tables outside the bar that are pretty comfortable although it can get windy. From the minute we arrived, we were greeted with friendliness, all of the menus we might need, and an explanation of drinks, beer and wine. We chose to go all out and got a small pizza, their delicious onion dip, meatballs - more on that later - and buffalo wings. I was a bit disappointed that the happy hour wine was a Chardonnay and not the Ferentino that they let me taste, but the replacement house May logger was delicious. My husband had a steam beer, which was also very good. Throughout the service was impeccable, and we actually met the manager, Jon, who had a long conversation with us about the history of the bar and how they were trying to be a neighborhood comfortable place which they certainly have succeeded at. Now for the food - the meatballs were the best I have ever had in San Francisco and I am Italian from New York so that's saying something. We actually let Jon know who told the chef and it turns out the chef is from New Jersey so that makes a lot of sense. The onion dip is something like I've never had before. It's a crème fraîche with scallions I think? And maybe a bit of garlic and housemaid chips. We ate every single bite and actually dipped our pizza crust in the rest of the dip. The margarita pizza was also very good and as I finished it off for lunch today, I can tell you it's just as good the next day. The buffalo wings were what I would call actual buffalo style - I could taste the butter, hot sauce and garlic powder like back in the day on the East Coast. The chicken itself was good, not fatty, and the sauce was just like I want it. They offered ranch and blue cheese dip, which was great. We then had further conversations with almost all the staff who were so welcoming and friendly. We don't live super nearby, but I know we're going to go back to dinner, because I am dying to get their pork chop that looked really good. They also came and helped us put the stuff in boxes and explained the best way to take pizza home, which I never knew before. I can't wait to go back again

We then headed to Ocean Beach to enjoy our breakfast in the sea air with an ocean view. Crispy on the outside, but custardy in the inside. Not too sweet which is a plus for me; you can always alter the sweetness by asking for extra syrup. I think next time I'll request extra powdered sugar. Don't let the wait & the line scare you away. There's nothing standing between you & a very good Dutch pancake except placing an online order. 4 stars.

Came on a Wed night for the smashburger and wow it didn't disappoint! I wouldn't say I'm much of a…read moreburger fan but heard I had to try the smashburger here so we came around 6pm and waited ~45 min for a table for 4. They call you when the table is ready so we were free to walk around. For the smashburgers, they have a beef and a vegetarian patty version, both with 2 patties, double cheese, pickles, and onion. No substitutions but trust me we all got the og burger and it was delicious. Loved the crispy patties with a nice charred edge. I think this may have changed my mind about smashburgers entirely, it was that good. We also got the crispy brussel sprouts to share (on a bed of goat cheese for extra flavor) and the mushroom pizza. I liked the variety of mushrooms they use which gave the pizza a nice earthiness. I'm not a huge fan of white pizzas though so I thought it could have used an extra boost of flavor but for detroit style thicker crust pizza, this was solid.

I've had their bagels and they were comparable to really good, chewy NY bagels. So we had high…read moreexpectations for their Detroit pizza and double cheese burgers. We waited in line for about 50 minutes and landed on bar seating. Service was efficient and accommodating. * * * O U R P I C K S * * * DOUBLE PATTY, DOUBLE CHEESE ~ shrettuce, pickles, onions and French-style potato salad. This was juicy, but it was missing tomatoes and more lettuce and onions. Just felt heavy and greasy, because it was double meat and double cheese. It needed some freshness from extra vegetables to make it cleaner tasting. I tasted the pickles in between the patties, but it still didn't cut the greasiness. The buns were a bit too soft and they didn't seem toasted, so while holding it, it became smooshed. Potato salad was ok, though I'd probably prefer fries with ketchup. It's half-cut roaster potatoes with a bland dressing, because the potatoes are big pieces. If they were cut smaller, you'll taste the dressing more than just potatoes. 3.5/5 SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS PIZZA ~ fennel sausages, Jimmy Nardello pepper cream, pearl peppers, mozzarella, & red sauce. This was ok. Crust was crispy, but the pizza bread was more dense than we would have liked. The Jimmy Nardello pepper cream sauce on top was heavy and it was too saucy for us. Mozzarella had a good cheese pull and was good. But like the burger, it felt heavy. Needed more acidity to balance and lighten the load. 3.5/5 I guess on Wednesday nights, people don't mind waiting an hour for the burgers. If it had sliced tomatoes and more lettuce, it would have been much better. But for $15, they should have the essentials to make a good burger. As for the pizza, maybe we chose the wrong one for us. We left disappointed. In my opinion, it's overhyped for 1hr+ wait.
