Recommended by those who work at Duluth Trading. The place Not very busy so seating was fast. One waitress serving about 15 patrons seemed a little hard for her and waited patiently. She did a good job. One Manager spent time on his phone instead of helping the staff. TV's all around with sports on and place was nicely decorated. We ordered the fired pickles for our appetizer. Drinks a Guinness and I had a mock-tail called the Caribbean Silence. Hubby had the Crow Burger with one patty and I had a Sweet Crow salad. All bread is purchased from a local bakery. Pickles were so good and the salad as well. The salad came with a fresh bread pretzel. The burger was a 10 out of 10.. hubby bit into before I could get a picture! Haha! We will return when we visit La Crosse, Wis again.

I felt like a burger tonight, so I chose The crow in downtown LaCrosse. The hostess greeted me immediately and gave me a choice to sit at the bar or at a table. There seemed to be a pretty good crowd here for a Monday night. I would not consider this a quiet location, but clearly it was a good atmosphere for people to chat. I could almost hear the background music, which I give two thumbs up for. A little Enter Sandman was kinda nice, followed by Dire Straights. Hannah was my waitress tonight. She was super amazing. She took my order, and remembered the side of Mayo. She even came to let me know my food would be up in about 5 minutes. If you are lucky enough to get Hannah as your server, you will be well taken care of. I think the manager even stopped by to check on my meal. Now for the food. My goodness, this is the burger I have been craving. I have had a number of burgers over the past two months, this one is hands down the best. I ordered The Crow, (I ordered a single, but they are usually double patty sandwich) which was on a pretzel roll with an aoli, bacon, sautéed onion, and provolone. This was perfectly seasoned. I mean from the first bite, I knew I made the right choice for dinner. Their fries are a mix of curly, crinkle, and regular. They were very good, but the burger was the highlight of the meal. As I get ready to depart, the classic tunes of The Outfield make me smile again. What a great place. I f you want possibly the best burger in the state, check this place out.

Delicious food, great service, casual atmosphere and the price point doesn't break your wallet. The appetizers were outstanding! We had steak shaved nachos and the combination of the gooey cheese, fresh salsa, seasoned steak and crispy chips were all working in harmony and making my mouth happy. Now the cheese curds were the best I've had ever! The texture of the cheese curd was like a crispy pillow with cheesy goodness inside. It was seasoned well. We were so stuffed from our appetizers our main dishes were devourable but we only ate half because we were so full from the appetizers. To go boxes were in order. The Crow burger huge and juicy, the bbq pork with Mac and cheese was overwhelmingly a fantastic bite but an unusual sandwich. An option for a side was the chicken chili which was warm, flavorful and comforting to the tummy. This place checks all the right boxes for food, service and ambiance. I will definitely return if I'm in town again.

Absolutely loved it. Food was good. Drinks were fabulous. If you have anything, try the tequila, simple syrup, lemon juice and cinnamon drink. Unbelievably delicious and different! Enjoyable setting and people.

This is a nice cool place for burgers. I had the nacho burger. It had guacamole, jalapeños, cheese nacho chips and no bacon, but bacon comes with it. The burger was good and tasty. A nice selection of beers and bourbons. read more

Not impressed! Way too expensive....Two old fashioned drinks $27.00 we were told after we ordered that they have a two dollar up charge per drink when it's a old fashioned. WTF! Place is loud and the food and service is just average. So many other options for half the price. Bodega, Buzzard Billy's, Howie's, Pizza Amore, Lacrosse Distillery. Just to name a few. read more

Of all the pubs in the area, we landed here unfortunately. It looked busy so we thought it must be good...wrong! Must've waited literally an hour for our food to arrive. When it did, the deluxe burger was so-so, chicken sandwich barely had any chicken. Fries were just okay. The pretzels were a little better - warm and soft with gooey cheese dip. We noticed an inordinate number of staff milling about but not really serving anybody. Maybe just come here for alcohol but definitely not for food. read more

Yes, that's a bacon cheese burger on a Glazed Donut... and it was awesome. We were in town and wondered into The Old Crow around dinner time. What a great stop. Good beer selection, great ambiance, right in the heart of La Crosse. A Very reasonable cost and a great menu. I have to go back for another burger on a glazed donut. If you're a bourbon fan this is the place to go. They have EH Taylor, Eagle Rare, and Blantons available for pours at a reasonable price. The food was very good. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. It was nice and spicy with a pickle in every bite. My friends had the Parmesan wings, glazed donut burger, and grilled cheese burger and they enjoyed every bite. read more

I had the burrito burger and I'm often pretty picky about my black bean burgers, but this did not disappoint! The Doritos on the burger added the perfect crunch and really tied the flavors together. It could've used more lettuce, as the burger itself was rather soft, but overall it was SUPER delicious and I would definitely order it again. The assortment of fries was also awesome! I've never been to a bar or restaurant that gave a basket of 4 different fries. Our appetizers (fried pickles and buffalo dip) were nothing super special, but still very good! This is the first place that pops up as Gluten Free when searching...it is NOT! Mostly burgers and sandwiches and no gf bun or bread option. They will make anything without the bun or bread though and of course, have salads. All their fries are breaded so no luck there. My fella was super happy with his burger and fries so, a win for him. I'll likely send him here on his own next time and find someplace where I can eat not like a rabbit. read more

Kind of a shot and a beer joint. My wife had a rum mule; I had a bourbon. By my measure, a short pour. Then I had a bourbon flight and that was a fun touch, suggested by our waitress. Cheese curds are to die for! My burger was pretty basic, but juicy and cooked perfectly. He got a melt, which I tried and I had wished I ordered the same! The fries were good, they give you a mix of curly, regular and waffle fries. As you can see, you can get loaded fries as well. This place was quite busy, but I like be people watching. A nice and busy La Crosse institution. Service is typically prompt and friendly and there's tons of room inside. They have a lengthy menu and boast everything from wings and bar food to salads and even a donut bun hamburger! I'm a fan of their double decker cheeseburger and their macaroni and cheese. They have daily Mac and cheese specials, and if the sriracha Mac and cheese is available I would definitely get that one. My boyfriend loves their wings in their Crow sauce, and they have a great rotating local tap beer menu. If you're coming to dine on a busy night, be ready for a wait! Sidle up to the bar and get a drink and an app and they'll come find you. Expect to get there early on a Friday for immediate seating. They're also open for lunch! read more

tonight my family and I had the pleasure of dining at The Crow. The food was outstanding, full of flavor and perfect portions. the atmosphere was great, busy but not too loud. the bourbon selection was outstanding with several great Wisconsin choice. Only place we could find open on a rainy holiday so thankful for that. The food wasn't very good. The mac'n cheese special had bacon chicken which was good but the pasta was lacking flavor. The black bean patty came with old, cold fries. The salsa on top soaked into the untoasted bun making it inedible. It was hard to find any guacamole but the patty had a nice spice to it. Didn't expect much from bar food so shouldn't have been surprised. read more

Food rates 4 out of 10. I had a white chicken chili that was good. But that's where it ended. The patty on my burger was completely raw in the middle. How you can get something so thin to be both crispy on the outside yet raw, I mean actually raw, is beyond me. Magi ordered broccoli & cheese soup. She got a broth. I didn't see a single lumpy spoon full of soup. Nothing but micro pieces of broccoli. Her grilled cheese didn't look buttered, was barley grilled & as she said, "nothing to write home about" The services sucked too. Took forever to get a cup of coffee. Refill never did come. Nothing here should be surprising since they had 2 pages of food items & 5 for alcoholic beverages. With all the servers in your place on a Tuesday night, we couldn't get one person to want to offer to help serve us drinks once we finished our food. I had to go to the bar myself - twice! Our server went MIA. When we asked we got the "well I'm not a server" excuse. Don't pre-judge. You lost about $200 in service and at minimum $100 in tips. I work in the customer service industry and even train in it. Very disappointed. To many other choices to go to for better service. Will not be back. read more

Good shrimp tacos. STAY AWAY FROM THE MAC AND CHEESE. IT'S NOODLS WITH CHEESE ON TOP. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Quite possibly the worst mac and cheese I've ever had. Stopped by for take out lunch. The burger was perfect, good fries. The real kicker was the fried duck bacon wantons. Order those for sure. Would have been a great place to eat if it was open because of covid. Great bourbon selection. If I'm back in La Crosse I will be stopping again. read more

He pulled the waitress aside and let her know of the condition and came to the table I was sat at. When we were finished eating 45-1:00 later, he went to blow his nose and nope the bathroom was still a mess. Would I recommend this restaurant to anyone? No, it was all around a bad experience and we are folks that like to give non chain restaurants a chance.

Really cool place...been here a few times actually and haven't had a bad experience yet. duck Wantons are different and really good, Buffalo dip is something I haven't seen Downtown yet and was good. Haven't tried a Burger yet, even though its a "staple" of the place. Next time! Was there for March Madness and it was a fun time, wireless available and the TV's are huge. Its safe to say La Crosse has its Downtown sports bar. Pretty impressed for not being opened long. oh p.s. laughing to the guy stating you can get any of the bourbons through a spirit retailer... while having a great time at the crow, i suddenly got an ice cube CHUCKED with full force at my forehead by employees ... yes, i was dancing on a chair during saturday night prime bar time, but they could have at least used words before violence. one other employee was very understanding and agreed about the fact. if they were so worried about liability, like they had stated, then they shouldn't be throwing ice at their customers, IN ANY SITUATION. very dissatisfied with this experience. we will not be returning. read more

Food is delicious, I've eaten here twice now and both times have not been disappointed. The service is a little off. The flow of the restaurant isn't the greatest. We had to wait 15 minutes before getting a server, but after that, things ran smoother. The noise is a little out of control, but that's what you get with an open concept. I definitely couldn't take my grandma here :) Overall, I would definitely recommend this place, and I will go again. read more
