Review about the manager. Went here at 6pm on Sunday night Memorial Day weekend. Sat outside because we had a dog. Ordered two drafts and dinner entrees. After we ordered minutes later we were told by an excellent waitress they had to put our Order In behind a party of 50 even though we ordered before them. So we sighed and just ordered mac and cheese. We waited 25 minutes for precooked Mac and cheese and decided to cancel and pay. We heard from another co-worker the manager was chewing out our waitress in the kitchen ( we have no idea why). That manager has no respect. He has no business in charge of people. You don't demean workers. If 50 people suddenly order why not tell new guests before they order the wait will be long. Geez read more

The food is amazing like always. But the staff seem to have changed and some of the new staffs are just really rude. I decided to have my lunch meeting there today and our waitress Zaria was not attentive at all. It was not that busy but she served as needed only. Drinks, food and that's about it. After eyeing her down for our bill, she quickly left and went back to conversating with the group of staffs in the corner. We were running short on time and took our bill to her so we could pay and leave. She came back, slapped our receipts and card on the table and said "hope you have fun at work" and stormed away. Stopped in midday for drinks and apps. It wasn't very busy so we were seated right away and were able to order promptly. The vibe inside was stark and utilitarian. The drinks from the bar were so-so, it was the apps that were disappointing. The Chips & Verde claimed to have handmade tortilla chips with house made verde cheese sauce. Nope, the red & yellow chips clearly came from a bag and the sauce tasted like thick cheesy broccoli soup--super unappetizing. The batter on the Sweet & Spicy Shrimp was so hard that poking one with your fork to eat it was close to impossible; they would be better off handing you chopsticks to use to pick them up. I frequent this place often and finally decided to leave a review. The bartender Eli was very prompt in getting my drinks and putting my food order in. My burger (crunchy nacho gauc) was amazing and came out fast. Eli and many other staff checked in on me during the meal. The atmosphere was also very welcoming. Recommended by those who work at Duluth Trading. The place Not very busy so seating was fast. One waitress serving about 15 patrons seemed a little hard for her and waited patiently. She did a good job. One Manager spent time on his phone instead of helping the staff. TV's all around with sports on and place was nicely decorated. We ordered the fired pickles for our appetizer. Drinks a Guinness and I had a mock-tail called the Caribbean Silence. Hubby had the Crow Burger with one patty and I had a Sweet Crow salad. All bread is purchased from a local bakery. Pickles were so good and the salad as well. The salad came with a fresh bread pretzel. The burger was a 10 out of 10.. hubby bit into before I could get a picture! Haha! Start by saying that the service was great, he was attentive and polite, the food on the other hand not so much. I ordered a burger and I specifically said Well Done and bacon crispy, neither of which happened. The burger, obviously was originally frozen,definitely not well done. Food was absolutely amazing, we got two different burgers and both were perfectly cooked with plenty of flavor. For sides we got the classic Mac and cheese and the combo fries, Mac and cheese was the perfect amount of cheesy and creamy. Fries were crispy and hot. We also got drinks, a beer and lavender lemonade cocktail and both were the best drinks we'd gotten at a restaurant/bar. I felt like a burger tonight, so I chose The crow in downtown LaCrosse. The hostess greeted me immediately and gave me a choice to sit at the bar or at a table. There seemed to be a pretty good crowd here for a Monday night. I would not consider this a quiet location, but clearly it was a good atmosphere for people to chat. I could almost hear the background music, which I give two thumbs up for. A little Enter Sandman was kinda nice, followed by Dire Straights. Hannah was my waitress tonight. She was super amazing. She took my order, and remembered the side of Mayo. She even came to let me know my food would be up in about 5 minutes. If you are lucky enough to get Hannah as your server, you will be well taken care of. I think the manager even stopped by to check on my meal. Now for the food. My goodness, this is the burger I have been craving. I have had a number of burgers over the past two months, this one is hands down the best. I ordered The Crow, (I ordered a single, but they are usually double patty sandwich) which was on a pretzel roll with an aoli, bacon, sautéed onion, and provolone. This was perfectly seasoned. I mean from the first bite, I knew I made the right choice for dinner. Their fries are a mix of curly, crinkle, and regular. They were very good, but the burger was the highlight of the meal. Came in Dec 26, Friday at 8PM and it was busy. Ordered the flatbread and side of fries. Was sat right away at a high top, our waitress was very nice BUT seemed to be rushing us, as there was still plenty of seats. The flatbread seemed prepaid boxes and thrown into the oven, not fresh. Also seemed like i got the last batch of fries as it was all tiny end pieces. As i ordered a second glass of wine and was still eating she asked if i was ready for the check....uhm no? I was still eating and just ordered a new glass of wine. Felt rushed. She brought back my glass of wine and provided my check.....i wasn't ready to go yet as you can see you just brought me a new glass of wine, explained to me she was being made to close out our table because she was cut and told to cash her tables out....then i noticed there was a fee for taking card. So i deducted the card fee from her tip along with a couple of other dollars for rushing me as i was still eating and beginning my second glass of wine and i hadn't even been in there an hour yet. We had steak shaved nachos and the combination of the gooey cheese, fresh salsa, seasoned steak and crispy chips were all working in harmony and making my mouth happy. Now the cheese curds were the best I've had ever! The texture of the cheese curd was like a crispy pillow with cheesy goodness inside. It was seasoned well. We were so stuffed from our appetizers our main dishes were devourable but we only ate half because we were so full from the appetizers. To go boxes were in order. The Crow burger huge and juicy, the bbq pork with Mac and cheese was overwhelmingly a fantastic bite but an unusual sandwich. An option for a side was the chicken chili which was warm, flavorful and comforting to the tummy. This place checks all the right boxes for food, service and ambiance. My guest ordered a Private Barrel Elijah Craig 1oz pour neat, the server proceeded to bring the lightest brown whiskey on the rocks i have ever seen. He mentioned that he ordered this pour neat and the server brought 4 other guests their drinks before returning with the smallest pour of whiskey i have ever seen. Either the whiskey they brought him was poured from the watered down whiskey that was brought out and sat for 5 minutes with ice melting or they intentionally water down their "private barrel". extremely disappointed with the service and quality. read more

We were going to go to another establishment, but they were closed, so we decided to give the The Crow a chance. We shared the shrimp appetizer which was surprisingly really good. The rest of all of our food was also delicious, no complaints! We did have to wait a while for drinks at the bar (20 minutes) but we understood that they were busy as hell. Stayed there for a solid 2 1/2 hours, nice inside chatter of happy guests. Not too loud, but you could tell everyone was content inside. I would probably come back here next time we visit, seems like a safe place for food and drinks. And the prices were fair also. read more

The food was great. I'm glad we weren't on a time schedule as our service was not very fast or good. There were 2 of us. We had Cheese Curds as an appetizer that were "Happy Hour" priced at $5. I sure hope that was a happy hour price serving as the portion was very small. They were very good. I got the Aloha burger. BBQ sauce, pineapple, and lettuce along with the burger. I only got 1 patty (it comes with 2). It was more than enough! Very good and juicy. The other person had a burger also and said it was good. The bad part, the server looked like she was as happy to wait on us as she would look if going to have a root canal. She didn't smile once. She came back once to ask us how the first few bites were. Then after we were done she finally brought our bills over and went to China or never never land. The host finally came ever and took our bills up and the waitress brought them back. This is definitely a college spot. We went in early on a Friday night and it was pretty busy already. We sat at the bar and weren't acknowledged for at least 10 minutes. Came into The Crow with a large group, and was seated in the back room. Orders were taken without issue, but the food took over an hour to come out (food was decent). The server spilled ketchup over our chairs and floor, and did not come to clean it up, so I did (wanting our group to not have to step in it when we left). Lastly, it took over 20 minutes from when we got our bills to when our payments were taken. This made us late for our next venture downtown. Will not be back. read more

We were lucky enough to, the with the help of the Front Desk clerk at the Courtyard by Wyndam, to find this little gem in downtown LaCrosse, a typical sports bar decor, its comfortable, with some outdoor tables. How can I rate this a One Star with everything else 3 stars or better? Easy. Look at my bill and compare to their website. We arrived during happy hour prior to the Moon Tunes later that evening. We sat and ate at the bar. Having never been here before we asked the bartender what drinks were on the happy hour menu and he waved over the signature and classic cocktails, plus some beers on the inside of the menu, plus said any well drinks. We then asked about the appetizers and he read off a list. We decided on the cheese curds. The Crow website says "$5 Apps - $5 Taps - $5 House Cocktails" which included several the bartender showed to us. The appetizer was charged at $11.99- $4.99, NOT $5.00. The drink menu says nothing about our drinks being made as "doubles"'; however, our bill clearly reflects what we were charged which was not $5.00 as we were led to believe by the bartender. The menu says to pick one whiskey or bourbon of your choice and it already says it includes "sweet" in the drink, but I was charged an extra $2.00 for mine, plus full price for the liquor! After our meal with time to spare, we decided on 2 well whiskeys, which the lady bartender said was Old Crow, so we each ordered an Old Crow and coke. Low and behold, it is still Happy Hour and we were charged $6.00, not $5.00 each for our well drinks. Needless to say, neither of us will return to an establishment that is as dishonest as "The Crow" nor will we ever recommend to any of our many friends or relatives to ever visit this establishment with this type of underhanded pricing. The food? It was as good as any other place downtown, just a little different, just don't order anything to drink from the bar. read more
