Cute little diner, located in the middle of a neighborhood. Heard nothing but good stuff and we had to stop in and try for ourselves. Service was great. Very kind and attentive staff. Food was quick, hot and delicious. I love that they have old trivia cards at the table to help kill time and helps you interact with your people vs being on your electronics. Hope to visit again. ***cash only but they do have an on- site ATM.

    Breakfast!!!

A warm hello. My husband and I came at about 9 am and a lot of people came in after us!! So I could see that we chose the right place to eat! Delicious food!!! A lot of seating available. We will eat here again!!!

It was a super packed Saturday morning (around 11am) but the service was still quick, friendly and the food was hot! We sat at the counter and Linda made sure we were well taken care of! I loved seeing how the waitresses helped each other out. They take cash only, and if you're unprepared, they have an ATM that charges a small fee. Here's the updated menu with the updated prices.

Probably the local's secret spot, so don't tell anyone about this review. One of the best breakfasts in La Crosse, WI. Everything comes out piping hot, we had a quiche, veggie omelet with ham and the biscuits & gravy. Food comes out very fast too! Staff was nice and attentive with a couple people always walking around to warm up your coffee and check on you. Booths are nicely decorated and feel private due to the plexiglass left over from Covid times. Would definitely eat here again to try additional menu items.

Had an absolutely massive breakfast here with 4 friends. Great prices, cash only! The cinnamon rolls were gorgeous. Delicious coffee. Tiny diner vibes, so there was a bit of a wait for a group. The staff was on top of the refills and the tables were flipping quickly.

I needed somewhere to stop for lunch on a road trip from Milwaukee to Minneapolis, and I am so glad I came across Rosie's Cafe. It had a very classic hometown diner feel. To me, it was a hidden gem, but in the hour I was there it seemed like some of the locals had the menu memorized and knew what they wanted within seconds of sitting down. After perusing their menu of excitingly low priced items, I landed on their BLT on white bread with a bowl of chili to start. It just sounded right! If I were to rewind and redo my order, I would have preferred that the bread not be toasted, as it did end up crumbling with every bite. Despite that, though, the sandwich was delicious! The bacon was thick cut, lettuce was crisp, and tomatoes were perfectly juicy. The bowl of chili was as warm and cozy as anticipated. If I ever find myself in La Crosse again, I would definitely make my way into Rosie's Cafe. One note is that they are cash only, so be prepared.

My husband and I decided to have some sort of brunch type of thing today at Rosie's Cafe! We have been here a few times, it this is the first time I'm reviewing this place. Trying to play catch up, ya know?! Anyways, Rosie's is your typical hole in the wall type of place. Very narrow interior, with a few booths, a diner bar, and bigger group-like tables that are in the rear of the restaurant. The decor has that vintage vibe that I love! My husband had a cheese omelette with American cheeses and onions on the inside, hashbrowns, bacon, and toast in white bread. He enjoyed his meal except the toast, because the way he referenced it was that the roast was very light tasting in texture, almost like a diet or Keto type of bread. He did very much enjoy everything else. I had the chicken strips which they give you 3 big strips, a side of fries, and BBQ Sauce and Ranch for dipping. I very much enjoyed my meal. The chicken strips had a black peppery coating that I love and reminds me sort of how my mother seasons her fried chicken. The fries were piping hot and crispy, oh, and did I mention the chicken was crispy and hot too?! I love fresh food, and they didn't disappoint. I absolutely LOVED their Ranch. It was very tangy and homemade which I am gonna need that recipe! The BBQ Sauce I could pass on because it's pretty vinegary, and not my kind of thing as I like sauce more smoky and thicker, with a non-vinegar base. Overall, very good place to go! We were tired of some places being disappointing and felt like a waste of money. This place was money well spent, and everyone is always so friendly! If you visit La Crosse, go to Rosie's Cafe! Keep in mind, they close at 2pm daily!

    Christmas in August!

Very friendly and quick service. They don't take cards so bring cash. There is an atm but charges a fee. Food is good, typical diner food.

The stuffed mushrooms were outstanding--perfectly seasoned, rich, and easily one of the best appetizers I've had in a long time. The chicken Parmesan was just as impressive--crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. You can tell they really care about the experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this spot--definitely a place I'll be coming back to.

My husband and I just finished our second dinner here and once again sat there wondering how this level of food is casually happening in our small town. Start with the whipped ricotta (sweet-sour cherry jam, pistachios, mint, warm filone bread). It's the kind of dish that makes the whole table go silent except for the occasional "wow! The stuffed mushrooms with house-made giardiniera (served in a little old-school paper cup) are ridiculous. Then the meatballs. Listen carefully: these are the best meatballs we have ever had. Ever. Tender, moisty as hell, clearly packed with Parmesan or some kind of Italian wizardry. Absolutely absurd. Entrées like the Americano Bianco, chicken vodka parmesan, and the deeply comforting spaghetti alla vodka (find meatballs in this one) all deliver. We still haven't managed to catch the lasagna bolognese because it sells out every night -- apparently you need to arrive before about 6:30 if you want a fighting chance. And dessert? The banana pudding tiramisu is borderline illegal. Bonus detail: the playlist is also tippy tops -- banger after banger that has you swaying in your seat and singing along between bites. La Crosse: PLEASE support this place. Restaurants this creative and special do not show up in small towns very often. If we somehow lose this gem because people stuck with chain restaurants... I will take it personally.

Kind of torn on this review…read more Grounded has a great patio and well-priced drinks. I just would say I haven't been super impressed by their drinks. I tend to prefer places that make some of their own syrups, etc. and from what I can tell, Grounded doesn't really do much from scratch, which is fine, just not my preference. Their drinks are usually good. I was kind of disappointed to see their even their seasonal specialty drink was not a homemade syrup. My biggest complaint is their cold brew is super weak/too watered down. Service is usually okay, cleanliness is usually okay as well. I do love their expanded hours, so we do stop here when others are closed.

Back then, it was our little ritual, cozy mornings with warm drinks and big feelings, just the two of us figuring out a new chapter one sip at a time. She'd order something with way too much whipped cream, and I'd pretend I wasn't tearing up over how grown-up she looked holding her cocoa. Now? We still go, only these days, she brings her friends, and I'm just along for the ride, and maybe to pay. It's gone from quiet catch-ups to full-blown coffee shop photo shoots with her crew. And honestly? The lighting in there gets it. The huge windows, the plants, the downtown charm, it's practically begging for cute, candid best friend pics and "caught laughing but obviously posed" moments. The vibe is warm, welcoming, a little artsy, and always buzzing in the best way. Whether we're talking about life, school, crushes, or just sitting in that comfortable silence that only comes with time, Grounded feels like home. A beautiful, caffeinated home with oat milk options and the occasional scone we swear we're splitting, but somehow I never get half. Grounded isn't just a coffee shop to us. It's a memory maker, a tradition keeper, a growing-up landmark in latte form.
