OH, MY, GOSH! JavaVino was absolutely delightful and delicious! We were on a roadtrip back home from Minneapolis and stopped in Lacrosse for a quick breakfast bite. We made our way to JavaVino based on the reviews and so glad we did. They have such an interesting space with different seating arrangements, great open space, nicely decorated with inspirational sayings and the food was fantastic. I ordered one of their signature waffles and a protein smoothie. Definitely will go back. Definitely would recommend.

JavaVino is one of my absolute favorite little spots to take my daughter whenever I'm in town visiting her during her college breaks. It's kind of our thing now. As soon as I get into La Crosse, I'm like, "Drop the bags, we're going to JavaVino." This place is peak cozy. It has that magical vibe where you can sip something warm, chat for hours, and pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist. My daughter and I always end up in one of the squishy chairs, splitting some baked good we definitely didn't plan on ordering and spiraling into deep conversations about everything and nothing. The coffee's amazing, the wine's tempting (hello, grown-up reward system), and the food is consistently delicious in that "just one more bite" kind of way. They've got the atmosphere down to a science. It's giving: "Mom, let's catch up and also romanticize our lives like we're in a feel-good indie movie." The staff is always so sweet, the playlist is somehow always perfect, and the lighting makes us both look like we slept for 12 hours and drink water like it's our job. If you're looking for a place to connect, laugh, recharge, and maybe cry just a little bit (in a good way), JavaVino is the spot. It's where mother-daughter memories are brewed--alongside a really good latte.

Super busy and still super wonderful! It was bustling, and yet the staff were super efficient and professional. The food was as usual excellent. The butternut squash soup was the perfect start to fall and the breakfast burrito never disappoints. We now consider ourselves regulars because Java vino consistently delivers great food, wonderful service in a cool setting!

I've had lunch here a couple times already. They have a spacious indoor dining area and plenty of outdoor seating as well, which was nice. The atmosphere and service were friendly but casual. Their parking lot is spacious with plenty of parking spots so it was very convenient. Overall food was alright, nothing special. During my first visit, I tried their Mozzarella Caprese panini and it was good. The flavor profile was typical of what you would expect from a caprese, and their paninis come with chips or sliced apples. On my second visit I decided to try their Breakfast Burrito (I ordered mine without green peppers and extra onions). The burrito's size was pretty decent, more generous than I expected. The taste, on the other hand, was just okay...the panini was better. The potatoes were overcooked and tasted burnt which left a slightly bitter taste throughout the burrito. Without the sour cream and salsa on the side it would have been difficult to continue eating. Usually I can finish a whole burrito no problem, however, because of the burnt potatoes I only managed to eat half of it.

Went in here the night before the LaCrosse Half Marathon, hoping to carb up on the Pesto Bruschetta Linguini. Unfortunately, by the time we got there for our 7:00 reservation, they were all sold out. Instead, us runners opted for the Mac and Cheese. I ordered mine "hot" (spicy) with Sriracha and Jalapeños and added pulled pork. While the dish was tasty, I didn't find it at all spicy. However, I do recognize that I can tolerate a fair degree of heat, so for me, adding a few more Jalapeños would have been great. My sister-in-law requested bacon on hers, and there was a lot of flavorful bacon added, which stayed nice and crispy. The Wisconsin Grazing Board was a nice, shareable size for the table with a great assortment of flavors. This is a cute spot, with lots of room, perfect for families and larger sized parties. Our waitress was great, being very attentive and patient. Definitely a place worth a return.

It's a struggle to find a restaurant that offers takeouts and outdoor dining areason a rainy day during pandemic. This place offeres a drivethru and parking lot pick ups so you can get your food safely. I had the Florentine Sandwich and hubby had the Breakfast Burrito. Both were great. We also ordered the Limocello Raspberry Cake for dessert. The taste was good but a bit too sweet for me. Wish we had more room to order the pastries though. I was very impressed to find out that their takeout boxes and cups were all eco-friendly. They have ample outdoor seatings if you fancy a good mountain/hill view on a sunny day.

A Chromatic Feast: The Warm Embrace of Sagra in La Crosse…read more To dine at Sagra in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is to be reminded that genuine culinary warmth can be found far from the traditional epicenters of Italian gastronomy. Guided by an exceptionally attentive and gracious staff, the experience unfolds with a well-paced rhythm that immediately puts the diner at ease. It is an establishment that clearly understands the intersection of great service and great food. The meal begins with a study in subtle elevation: olives presented with a gentle, deliberate warming. It is a small but vital touch that awakens their natural oils and briny depth, setting a welcoming tone for the table. The meatballs follow suit, boasting a robust, comforting heft. They are deeply hearty and undeniably tasty, anchored by a rustic authenticity that demands a proper piece of bread to chase the remaining sauce. However, the quiet star of the evening was a sweet potato dish that essentially stole the stage. It was a vibrant, chromatic triumph--an absolute masterclass in both visual palette and culinary palate. The kitchen managed to coax an astonishing spectrum of colorful flavors from the root vegetable, elevating a humble ingredient into something genuinely amazing. "Life is a combination of magic and pasta." -- Federico Fellini The pasta course, often the crucible by which an Italian kitchen is judged, was a remarkably pleasant affair. While it may not have possessed the sheer, surprising theater of the sweet potatoes, it remained a fundamentally nice, deeply satisfying plate of food that grounded the meal in tradition. Ultimately, Sagra delivers an unequivocally great dining experience. It is a restaurant that balances hearty comfort with vibrant execution, proving that a well-crafted Italian menu in the heart of Wisconsin is a journey well worth taking. 4 sisters catered our wedding reception in La Crosse. Over a year ago we did a tasting with them…read moreand all the food was delicious. My wife and I are vegetarian and they did a great job in catering to our needs. We ended up ordering a vegetarian taco/nacho buffet and a charcuterie board with no meat. This is where the pleasantries will end. Fast forward to our wedding reception day. We walk into the venue and the first thing we notice are multiple platters of meat on our charcuterie board. Tough start to the night.......as we were wanting a meat free wedding. To us, eating vegetarian is a very important value and seeing the meat was pretty devastating. Next, the power temporary went out (due to a nasty storm) so we weren't able to use the nacho cheese machine (something we paid for). Lastly, the leftovers were thrown away when we were told that they'd be packaged up. Coming to present day. We just got off the phone with our caterer contact, Jessica Koenen. We would have been fine with an apology and a small refund on the food that wasn't used and the meat. Even with all that happened, Jessica was not willing to refund us for even a small portion of our bill and even insinuated that it was our fault for not confirming with her that we didn't want meat on the charcuterie board. She wasn't willing to take responsibility for THEIR mistake. We even have it in our wedding notes to ask about a meatless charcuterie board- which we did discuss with her at our tasting. She then had the audacity of saying that we should have noticed on the invoice that it said "Charcuterie board" instead of "Charcuterie board without meat". There was NO WAY that we would have known that!! All our other vendors sent us a partial refund for the services that weren't provided because of the power outage even though they had no control over the weather. That is how business is done. 4 sisters catering decided to blame us for the charcuterie board, nacho cheese, and leftover food. They decided to take no responsibility for the night. We would have been fine with a $100 refund for the nacho cheese. Even though the total cost that we already paid for and was wasted on the day over was substantially more. Lack of responsibility is not how quality businesses operate. I would avoid using 4 sisters and Jessica for your next event.

My husband got the lamb wellington but they didn't have lamb and offered beef instead. The sauce was overly salted. So i couldn't try more than the tiny bite i took. I got The lobster risotto. It had mixed reviews but i thought i would try it and have my own judgement. It was also the waitresses favorite. I will say, the herbs in the risotto was over powering and the lobster which was supposed to be poached tasted grilled and was over cooked. Like many other reviews, i couldn't cut it with my butter knife. Perhaps a steak knife would've helped. But it still doesn't help the fact that it was over cooked. The side of butter was unnecessary as everything was too flavorful. And the edamames were just a tad bit too much. Escargot was over cooked. The herb butter was flavorless. We were very disappointed as this was what we were looking forward to the most. Fois gre was ok. $200 dinner and we were not impressed. But it was worth a try.
