    Dre burrito

Good spot for brunch/lunch in the area. Friendly service and good atmosphere. The Dre burrito I ordered massive! Such good food!

Nice shop, great food! Street parking. Plenty of inside and outside seating. Took quite a bit to get the food service but they disclose on a sign that it can take up to a 1/2 hour if it's busy. The chorizo egg bowl was flavorable with a medium spice. You don't need to add the additional sauces available. Loaded with sweet potatoes. Bagel sandwiches were good, warm. Eggs were fluffy. The loaded avocado toast was amazing, flavorful, seasoned right, overflowing in the basket.

Large area for doing work or hanging out. Coffee is good and the pastries are decent.

    French Onion Soup

Pretty disappointed. Ordered French Onion soup via Doordash, no cheese in it which is how it should be served, also little flavor and they only filled my cup a little over 1/2 way. Basically rip off and canned Campbell's French Onion is better. I mean such little flavor and without the traditional cheese and crusty slice of crouton what makes this restaurant worthy at all?

Delightful coffee shop in downtown Winona. They have some really creative coffee drinks and the woman managing the place place help me craft a decaf one to replicate their special of the month. Well-stocked pastry case- my almond bar was super delish. I was their late afternoon but it looked like a great spot for an easy lunch.

There are plenty of tables in the shade outside the shop and plenty elbow and leg room. Unfortunately the inside has an awkward confusing configuration which seemed to confuse patrons and employees alike. The menus are in a box on the side with a cardboard sign with arrow pointing the way. People order at the narrow counter and in a queue of more than two there is no room to move. The order taken everyone looks at each other as the employees turn back and go about their business. There is a pick up order sign around the corner, but some are brought over the order counter and others are brought to the pickup side. There is table seating as well and they serve beer. The sandwich menu was impressive and there is some creative pastries. The brewed dark was not up to my level of par as it was not hot enough after being kept in an air pot and then there's the dreaded acidic taste.

Nice place, good food and service. Not much else to say. Near the university, they show case locals art work which I especially liked about the place.

Dog-friendly and has gluten-free items, just the combo we needed while messing round Winona. Good decaf coffee.

"It's a Sicilian message. It means Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes." (The Godfather)…read more At Sapori di Sicilia, the message is considerably more appetizing: "Eat the pasta and nobody gets hurt." Walking in for the first time, I half-expected owner Eric Mullen to greet me with cotton-stuffed cheeks and a brooding stare. Instead -- as one Yelp reviewer memorably noted -- Eric looks like he's straight out of Super Mario, more likely to trade you a heavenly mocha for three gold coins than make you an offer you can't refuse. After a four-month pilgrimage to Italy in 2018 to learn the art of Sicilian cooking, Mullen returned to Winona and opened Sapori in 2020, filling a gap in the local food scene roughly the size of a horse head in a mobster's bed. The city desperately needed authentic Italian food, and Sapori delivered. No favors owed. No strings attached. *This time.* Everything here is made by hand: pasta, sauces, bread, pastries, and the gelato. The whole operation, with no shortcuts. The Bronze-cut Pasta: It clings to the sauce with the loyalty of a wartime consigliere who knows exactly where the bodies are buried. The pistachio pesto stands out, though it could use a touch more olive oil or pasta water. A minor grievance that doesn't warrant a trip to the river bottom in concrete shoes. The Pastries and Cakes: Genuinely dangerous. The Mascarpone cheesecake and chocolate cake slice are to die for -- and I mean that in the most Sicilian sense possible. Eat them. Tell no one. The Gelato: Should be under federal investigation. Light, creamy, and so authentically Italian it practically has its own accent. The pale green pistachio is rich, nutty, and deeply serious about its heritage. The Vibe: Warm. Hospitable. A real hit, but with zero cleanup crews required. The Verdict: Leave the gun. And for the love of all that is holy, take the cake and gelato too. You don't need a passport, a secret handshake, or a letter of introduction from a guy who knows a guy. Just show up hungry and show the proper respect.

Food was very good and authentic. The in house made breads and pastas were the star of the show!…read more The atmosphere is very comfortable and quaint. The service was great, we had a party of 12 and they accommodated us with great attention. Definitely recommend the gelato for dessert as well as a beautifully made cannoli enjoyed with a macchiato.

I tried the Heath Bar coffee and a combo whole hoagie, which was enough for both me and my husband so very generous portions. The bread was hot and fresh (housemade!) and not soggy from the meat and sauce. While I did enjoy the Heath Bar coffee, it was definitely on the sweeter side. I'd ask for another shot of espresso next time to balance it out or ask for less sweet. Delicious hoagies and great service. I had a great time catching up with my friends here and I'd love to come back again to enjoy their live music!

Quaint cafe serving coffee and delicious lunch…read more Atmosphere was rustic, with local elderly folks playing card games in the back area and younger ones finishing up lunch and meetings when we got in at around 2. Servers were friendly (one more than the other) and super accommodating. Food was awesome. I didn't expect much, but the hoagie was yum, the pita was absolutely mouthwatering, and the cup of chili was one of the best I've had. I was happy cuz the chili had very little beans, and a popping flavor. Just what I needed. Walk around the back outside and you get to a park and a nice view of the Mississippi River. Except for all the construction going on out front, this was a perfect little stop.
