Menu has the burgers, fries, and shakes you'd expect from a place like this, but also some nice adds like an Elk burger, a BBQ "sloppy joe," a grilled chicken sandwich and even a grilled salmon sandwich. They also bring water bowls and "pup cups" for your dog. The diner's website further explains that they scratch-cook, so you'll wait a bit longer than similar roadside joints, but it's worth it. Nicely located near Lake Winona and its surrounding park, by the way. I liked the breaded fish sandwich and my wife enjoyed the BBQ. The restaurant also makes its root beer, which is almost worth the trip by itself. For families with young kids, there is a playground in the back behind the restaurant. My only dig is the surprisingly skimpy portions of the french fries, sweet potato fries, and such.

Always loved the brightness and hand painted murals on the walls! Service was alright. Seems that there's been a decline in how often they come out to check up on the tables (lots of people were looking for waitstaff) and it wasn't that busy. Maybe a short staff day? But, when they came out they got everything we needed. Portions and quality of food have seemed to decrease a little as well since I last visited, but still a decent place to stop.

Salsa and chips were great, my favorite part of the meal. Fajitas were very average, not a lot of flavor and limited toppings. Only got about a teaspoon of sour cream, despite ordering (and getting charged) extra. Co worker got the enchiladas, his opinion was the same - it was okay. No complaints, but nothing to really rave about. The place itself is bright and welcoming.

Following a rather taxing and disagreeable afternoon at the office, I found myself in desperate…read moreneed of a proper culinary escape to remedy my mood. I ventured into a most interesting establishment in Winona this Friday evening, and it proved to be precisely the tonic I required. The dining room was delightfully serene, with only a select few patrons present a peaceful arrangement that I found immensely welcome given my disposition. Upon my arrival, the gentleman assisting me extended an incredibly warm and friendly greeting. His attentive hospitality was thoroughly consistent throughout the evening, and I found the caliber of service to be entirely satisfactory. After requesting the menu to review their selections, I settled on the Pork Belly Tacos. The waiter politely inquired if I would care to include a side of rice with the dish, which I gracefully declined, and my order was processed with admirable efficiency. I must also commend the interior architecture and design. The venue possesses a wonderfully historic, old-world soul, yet it remains impeccably well-maintained and structured rather than ruined. It is a highly impressive aesthetic that adds an air of refined charm to the experience. The comforting atmosphere and flawless execution completely turned my evening around. I am quite enamored with this delightful Winona find and shall most certainly be returning

Portion size was amazing. The service level is top notch. Very attentive without being a bother. The bill is a bit weird. They add a credit card charge. The suggested tip includes the credit card fee and taxes.
